View 9 RepliesI am a iPad user. I have heard that you can import documents from MAC to Pages app on iPad. Could you please guide me on the process of importing my files from my Mac to iPad.

Is there an adapter I can buy? Can I transfer via Bluetooth?

I realize iPad is able to download photos off your camera with the camera kit. But what about RAW files? I shot a lot of RAW with my dSLR, and was hoping to be able to store them on the iPad during vacations/trips when the memory card gets full. I know even 16gb should hold lots of pics at 1024 resolution, but RAW files are so huge in comparison.
The question is just how much of a hybrid it is of iPhoto, which can display RAW files.
I have a new Ipad 2 on the way. I am going to take it on vacation with me to the Rocky Mountains in a few weeks. While I am on vacation I will be shooting a lot of photographs with my Canon 5DMKII camera. I always shoot full size RAW files (29 MB per picture). The camera has the option to shoot RAW+small JPG.
Is there an APP or a way that I can only import the small JPG files and leave the RAW files on the camera? I am concerned the Ipad 2 will choke trying to import RAW files that are 29 MB per file.
I looked around but could not find a similar situation.I import photos via the camera connection kit to my iPad just fine. I then sync my iPad with my iMac to download the images via iPhoto. iPhoto sees the iPad mounted but says there are "0" files to download. Information:PB G4 & iMac G5 Mac OS X (10.4.6)
View 9 RepliesHere's the situation - There I am on holiday and I'm rapidly filling up my Sony Cybershot's memory stick with a mixture of pictures and video. I'd like to dump my content onto my ipad, free-up the stick for new photos and have my pictures available for email. I can move the photos to the i-pad using the camera-usb connector and a suitable card reader to accomodate a memory stick; when I try the same action on my macbook, i-photo happily accepts photos and video. On the ipad my video content seems to be ignored. Video in Hi-def is responsible for the majority of the sticks' capacity. Ultimately I could just cough-up the cash for more and larger capacity memory sticks but Is there a way to import video directly into an ipad or a suitable app that will suit my needs?

Have I read correctly, the Camera Connector Kit will only take files from the SD card into the iPad, not the other way around?
I was hoping I could move MP3 files from the iPad onto an SD card since my car has an SD reader.
the error message i get is:
The following file could not be imported. (The file is an unrecognized format).

I just received the Camera Connection kit and tried to import pictures using a 4GB SD Card and the SD Card adapter. When you plug the adapter into the iPad it displays an error that says "USB Device not supported".
Anyone else have this same experience? The instruction manual doesn't list any special formatting procedures for the SD card and I can see the pictures on it using my laptop.

if i use the USB camera connecton kit and a low powered thumb drive. can i import mp4 films onto my ipad if they are saved in a DCIM folder.if not is there a file type which would allow me to do this or a way that would allow me to do this?
View 1 RepliesIs there any way to import only JPEGs via the Camera Connection Kit? Or is there a way to delete the RAW files without jailbreak and without being connected to a computer?
View 1 RepliesI bought one of those camera attachment devices for my ipad 3, but all 7 SD cards I have from 3 different cameras can't be read - it just says No photos to download. I've pushed the slider back and forth to no effect,, I even reformatted one SD card and took some fresh photos at different resolutions - no deal! I get no better response using the USB connection direct to the camera either. The 2 compact cameras connect and the 'Photos' folder opens, but again, No photos to download. If I try connecting my Canon EOS 5D it isn't recognised at all - nothing opens at all. Is this an iPad thing or the camera attachment that is at fault?

The iPod camera connector I have looks exactly like the one for the iPad, Will it allow me to import photos from my camera?
View 1 RepliesI am travelling around and the camera connection kit has been working well for importing pics from my SD cards. However one day the import warned me I was importing 1gb of pics, but only had 0.7gb free on the iPad. It asked me whether to import until the iPad was full, so I said yes.Since then I deleted some movies I had on the iPad, so I now have lots of free space. Now most photos are imported showing just a "jpg" logo and the photo cannot be opened. This happens on any SD card I put in the iPad. I wonder if perhaps the iPad needs some sort of disk utility or scandisk to be run, but I can't find such a utility.

View 3 RepliesI'm setting out on a 3 month bike trip as a fundraiser (www.bikeformima.org) and wanted to be able to update my website with images and video "from the trail". So I bought the ipad because it's light, 10 hr. battery and I'm a MAC guy. But alas...images import to the photos app. but videos won't.Should I be importing them to ipad via another application or will it be "images only" for my website viewers?!
