For two days I received the IOS 5.1-Update for my IPad 2 16 GB WiFi and installed it after downloading it. So far, the update process worked well and after 5 min. The IPad was back again, ready to work. Since that day I realize problems with that IPad while working with it. Sometimes it freezes for maybe one or two seconds. Nothing happens, no reaction on tapping the screen or pressing the home-button. Then, after that freeze, it continues working from the same point. This error is not repeatable at one concrete point in a program, but happens mostly during playing Angry Birds. I created a backup and resetted the IPad to the factory settings and restored the backup. After that process the problem seems to be better, but not solved. The lagging-time is shorter, maybe half a second.
Will IPad 3 Be Fast Enough Browse Without Lagging?
Feb 21, 2012
I have owned 3 ipads in the 2 years that they have been out. I love the form factor but I always get frustrated with how slow they are to load pages. The ipad 2 was a step in the right direction, but still lags behind any decent computer in rendering a page, and wifi throughput. I got rid of my ipad 2 a few months ago. While perusing the thread with ipad retina wallpapers, I noticed that it took a good 2-3 seconds to render the photos on my macbook air. This was on a 30 mbps fiber line. Unless they have really, really bumped up the horsepower, and ram on the ipad I'm afraid that it will lag terribly trying to push all those pixels. My main wish even over the display, was for faster browsing.
My dad's usage is for checking Youtube, websites, twitter, facebook, instagram and flickr.
He's been having many issues with the device which includes crashing apps, lagging while opening apps, websites and even photos.
Recently I've been noticing many apps started to crash on start up like facebook and flickr. I would enter the app and it will work for few sec and crashes.
I updated the apps to the latest update available but the issue keeps recurring.
I have the first generation iPad 32GB 3G+WIFI with OS 5.1 (the last available update for iPad 1) and it's jailbroken.
My dad's photos library have over 20,000 photos, the device still got 7GB free.
Hfirst of all I own a 64 GB wifi only iPad. It's jail broken and I filled it with apps and some movies and now it's at 59 GB. I have only 5 books in my iBooks library and I use the Youtube app often to download some videos. However lately when downloading a video and launching it the iPad crash and it takes about 4 minutes for it to recover back. and the video's I downloaded get removed for some reason (I think it's like recovery mode). And it's been lagging alot and Apps are crashing very often. And some time it reboot for no reason. I think it's a really bad situation however I don't want to format it. Is is the cydia apps that are causing this or the large amount of storage I have is causing this?
I'm currently using a brand new iPad 2 and iPhone 4S with the latest software. For some reason, Safari keeps lagging whenever I type in the address bar. Not sure what to do? Tried most things apart from restoring.

IPad Air :: Froze During 7.1.2 Update - WiFi Went Out / Can Undo Update
Jun 30, 2014
I have an iPad Air (purchased in October 2013) and during the 7.1.2 update, the download froze for about an hour. (***or installation, see last line.) I believe the wi-fi source it was downloading from just shut down (it does that sometimes) but I'm actually not sure what caused the frozen screen.
After waiting about an hour, I tried to turn the iPad off - failed, it wouldn't turn off. So I rebooted it. Now it thinks it has 7.1.2 but I don't believe it does, since it was only halfway through loading the update when the screen/iPad froze.
So I turned it off. It still says it has the latest software update. So far, no obvious glitches in how its working, but maybe whatever bugs or glitches this could cause won't show up until later. Sigh.
Is there any way to undo its perception of having the 7.1.2 update and then reload that update? Actually I'm not entirely certain if it frozen halfway through downloading the update OR installing the update. I walked away for a moment. The picture was: A black screen, a white apple logo and a solid line stuck about halfway through doing what it should do (midway under the apple.)
Unable To Update/cant Update IBooks App Via App Store?
Jul 20, 2010
In my App Store application there is an App Upgrade for iBooks 1.1.1 7/19/2010. Whenever I try to update it (It's a free update from apple). The application asks me to input a password but the email/account name is an old one so my password doesn't match.
Does anyone know how to update the email address the application is trying to use? I've checked most of my settings and they all use my new Apple account id.It keeps telling me the ID has been suspended for security reasons. So basically, I can't update my iPad.Where else could it be pulling the old account name/email address from?

Update To 4.2 - Can Update Normally Or Require Fresh Install ?
Nov 23, 2010
Hopefully not a dumb qustion, but I just got a new iPad this past weekend. I'm seeing a lot of different ways people are updating to 4.2. Can I just do the normal update process or is it cleaner to do a fresh install? (and lose the couple of bookmarks, game scores, etc from only a couple of days of use)
How do I delete an unwanted app update from my update screen? Cannot see a way to get rid of an update other than installing it. have iPad2 and don't want to use up space by updating apps to run on new iPad3 screen.
When I get a notification that there is an app update in the app store, if I don't want to update the app how do I delete the update icon for that app?Message was edited by: mrjazz Information:Intel iMac 24" 2 GB Ram, Pismo Powerbook, iMac G5 20 Rev. B Mac OS X (10.5.4)
