This update has made the already full of bugs and loaded with issues iOS 5 even worse. Now my New iPad keeps crashing, leaving an outline of the app folder on the home screen. I've had to restart twice in two days to fix this. As well as this the iPad and my 4S keep losing Wi-fi connection. Other devices don't so it's not the network. I'm not at all impressed with iOS 5.0, 5.0.1, 5.1 or now 5.1.1. All have been by far the least stable yet most buggy and problematic. Really unimpressive considering the amount of time it took to get it to public release as well as a record number of beta releases. It just doesn't work.
I downloaded the ABC player so I can watch those shows for free but it crashes every time I'm about to start watching something. Anyone else having this issue? And more importantly, anyone else FIX this issue? I got a feeling an update will be coming shortly if this is pretty widespread.
If it were any other app I'd delete it and reinstall but you can't really do that with safari.Sometimes it's fine, other times it will crash out several times, usually as I'm typing something like this. It usually waits until I've almost finished and then Pulls the plug, losing everything I've written in the process.
Safari Keeps Crashing - Requires Update Or Use Different Browser ?
Nov 23, 2010
Please forgive me as I have posted this message elsewhere because I did not see the "applications" forum. Safari keeps on crashing on my new Ipad - Can anybody advise me on what I should do? Can this be dealt with with an update or should I start using a different browser?
Safari keeps crashing a lot as well as other apps. They didn't crash before now they are I am guessing it's a memory issue but I don't keep a lot of apps in memory maybe 3 or 4 before the update I kept many more without an issue. Is there a way to fix this?
I am not jail broken but would it help in case there is an app to help manage the memory? Also my battery now sucks it dies really quickly even when I am not using it... iPad 1 was great before this update now it's inconsistent.
My iPad is working wonderfully. Hooks up to wi-fi, all apps run well.
Reading all the stories of iPad's that have been updated "bricking," wi fi problems occuring, deleted apps has me nervous about updating. I live far from a Mac store (3hours) and won't be able to access a genius should shit happen.
Today when I tried to open The Weather Channel app, it starts and then stops or crashes. To try to remedy this I have rebooted, deleted the app and then re-installed it, re-booted again, and it still crashes. As far as I know no settings that affect it have been changed. It has always worked fine before today.Sent from my iPad using iPF
I just recently bought a 64GB iPad Wi-fi.I need to restart it at least twice a day or it will constantly crash in almost all applications. No errors come up or any pop ups about a lack of memory. My iPhone almost never crashes.
When I'm in Safari my screen will all of the sudden start jumping around. It will zoom in and out, move left to right, up and down, all on its own. I can't click/touch on anything as its now unresponsive. When I exit it out I can not longer use any other app. All the icons are now non-responsive to touch. It won't let me shut down normally either as I have to do the home/power button reset to get it off and back on.I have noticed it happening when searching in Google, and when checking my football and hockey pools.
Weather Channel might open 40% of the time , usually takes a couple trys before it opens. This is the ipad one.My iBooks atm opens the shelf , stays there for a minute or two and then crashes back to ipad front page.
I'm running it on two computers, a laptop with W7 64bit and and a desktop with 32 bit W7 and am trying to convert MKV files created by MakeMKV. Doesn't seem to matter what output format I select. Does Handbrake have problems with W7?
Anyone having issues with the ABC video player? I was watching Food Revolution and it loaded up and ran fine the first time, but then when I went back in it would start up the video then crash out. Doing a soft reboot let it run properly again, but once I went out and tried to go back in it bombed out again.
I've run into a bug. My iPod application on my iPad keeps crashing. I've done ever trick I can think of to restore it, removing all songs from the application, syncing only 1 song. But, it gets to "updating music library" and then after a few moments crashes. Each subsequent restart of the iPod app simply crashes almost immediately.I'm currently doing a full restore and will report back. But, I've seen this happen to a few people on various discussion boards already, so I know I'm not alone. To some people it happened in the Video app, to others in the iPod app.
Maybe (okay, almost certainly) this is the break-in period, but a lot of the apps on the iPad sure do crash. Most recently, USA Today app crashed and now will not start up. Kindle app, Kobo, Zinio, and a few others have all crashed on my iPad.
