View 9 RepliesI know, I know, it's incredibly superficial. But on such a clean Apple design it's such a sore thumb. I want the 3G, I'm almost positive. If I said no to the 3G, and lost out on internet everywhere if I needed it once, for just $130, due to a simple black strip I'd feel like a fool
View 24 RepliesI know someone who just got a 3G iPad and he says the black strip on the top has a bit of play in it like it's not sitting right in the metal. He says it doesn't sound like much but when you're holding the iPad in landscape you can feel it moving in your hand and it's really annoying.
View 10 RepliesNot sure if this is in the right place but here it goes. I just picked up my new 64gb Wifi + 3g iPad from best buy (apple stores where sold out) and im noticing these weird bumbs at the top of my ipad on the right of the black antenna strip. Its in the silver part that goes around the ipad. There like these nicks/indents in it, its strange because there are three of them right next to each other. I saw it right when i opened it so they werent from me. I was wondering if anyone else had this problem. Im assuming it was just from the factory because the iPad box wasnt damaged.
Ill try and upload a pic when I can.

When I plug my ipad into the wall charger or the computer, the battery icon in the center has a thin strip of red and a bolt underneath for about 5 seconds, then disappears to a black screen. Shouldn't there at least be some sort of charging screen? I'm just going to leave it plugged into the wall until hopefully something pops up on the screen. I'm new to ipads.

View 12 RepliesThe 3G iPad has a black plastic opening on the top to allow for good 3G reception. I wonder, would we also expect it to have better WiFi reception as a result? This question should be answerable by anybody who has taken the WiFi version apart, i.e. is the WiFi antenna close to the top of the iPad? If so, presumably it will also be there in the 3G version and reception should be better...
brought my ipad to work for 1st time today. had my touch yesterday and it never lost the wi-fi signal one time. the ipad will not even pick up the signal which now makes the ipad pointless. the reason i bought it was to use all day at work.
View 11 RepliesIt seems that my IPad has a very lousy Wifi reception (my blackberry and my laptop are much faster, and have reception in rooms in which IPad doesn't work on Wifi). Is this a structural problem of IPad, or of my Ipad.

I have a 64g wifi unit and the wifi signal drops off very quickly and varies a lot. I have a negear n wireless router a couple of rooms away my laptops have no problem locking onto a signal but the iPad shows a dot to full signal over tome when I am not moving. Also when at mcdonalds it has difficulty locking onto the AT&T signal.

So after hearing about Google I decided to turn off my SSID broadcasting... it doesnt need to be on anyway since all my devices are setup.
I get home and wonder why the iPad isn't connecting to the net. Turned SSID back on
I havent experienced any of the other known WiFi issues other iPad users have seen. Is this occuring to other users too, or is my iPad WiFi not as perfect as I thought??

It was a bit frustrating this weekend, we were in a motel room and while everyone with a laptop had no problem with the somewhat weak signal, I couldnt get squat with my Ipad. I ended up sitting in the lobby to get a stronger signal. Is there any tricks to getting the signal reception up in a weak area?

View 5 RepliesThe WiFi reception with my iPad 3 seems to have a problem now. It was working quite fine till yesterday. My wifes iPad as well as my other phone can easily pick up the signal from my home network. Please help to fix this problem.

Is there a fix or tweak for the ipad2 to improve wifi detection/connection? I have all manner of wifi devices and I work in an area where our wifi router is across the street for where I work. All my other wifi devices, laptop, iPhone etc... All pick up the wifi signal from across the street. I cant say the same for my ipad2. There are more times that it will not detect any signal at all..
View 3 RepliesThe wifi reception on my 3rd gen iPad is terrible. I have an original iPad and iPad 2, works fine with them. I have an airport express and unless I am right next to it the connection drops. Is there is software update to fix this?

I guess that I'm not the only one who has trouble with the wifi on the new iPad. I read somewhere where Apple is trying to swap the bad ones out.

Has anyone with both wifi and 3G/wifi iPads done a wifi speed and reception comparison? I'm curious. I already have a 64G wifi that I've been using since the original launch and I also pre-ordered a 32G 3G that I'm unsure if I'll be keeping (yes, it's actually still in the box). Knowing me I'll probably end up taking the 32G 3G to the Apple Store and exchange it for a 64G 3G anyway. Thought this would generate some interesting dialogue though.
