I AM Connected, But The Apps That Require Wifi Connection Says I Need Wifi
Jul 16, 2010
So my iPad 3G is having issues connecting to my wireless internet. I can enter the password and connect to my connection and have the wifi bars at the top appear full bar. But it doesn't seem to be working. Whenever I open a browser it asks me to get 3G data plan. It clearly says I AM connected, but the apps that require wifi connection says I need wifi.
I have an iPhone 4 and and iPad2. Both indicate they are connected to my home network. I can connect to the Internet on my iPhone; I cannot connect on the iPad. The only difference I see in the settings is that the Router address is blank under DHCP on the iPad. How can I resolve?
I bought the new ipad about 6/7 weeks ago and from the start ive experienced wifi issues. When I am browsing the internet through safari or any app that requires wifi connectivity I keep coming across dropouts. Safari stops loading anything and eventually comes up with an error saying that the connection is lost! But I have a full connection? The dropping ranges from every 30 min to 5 min. Other devices are fine and I've experienced the same problem on different networks. So it must be my ipad!
my ipad no longer has internet connection even though it shows a wifi connection. I have an ipod touch right next to it that works just fine. Under wifi settings for the network the difference for the 2 is that I dont see and address in the router box or addresses in the dns box which i do see on the ipod touch. If i reboot the ipad the internet will work for about 4 mins and then repeats this problem. Since the ipod touch is working and both have the latest software and both are the latest devices I would assume this is an ipad problem and not a wifi router problem. I did type the 2 dns addressses in that were listing on the ipod touch in the dns box but i cant enter info into the router box.
Also to note that the ipad has no problem connecting to my home wifi or several others. Just this one and just all of the sudden. It did work 2 weeks ago.
I clicked on download next to the app that I wanted. When I exited iTunes I scrolled over to see if the app had downloaded. The app shows up on the screen but underneath it, it says waiting.Does the battery have something to do with it? I made sure that I was still connected to the wifi and it still says waiting. It has been about 3-4 hours since when I first clicked download
I was sitting in the Atlanta airport today and enabled the wifi on my iPad. It recognized something called free public wifi. Touched the screen to enable that, got a check mark and the wifi icon, top left of screen, came on showing the full three bars. However, when I tried to access a web site I got a pop up indicating it could not connect. Regardless of the site, NY Times, Apple, MSNBC, the connection could not be made. My question is why would the wifi icon come on and the iPad not be able to to make an internet connection?
Can I add apps using the usb cable connected to my PC without wifi connected from the iPad? My PC has wifi but haven't set the iPad up to connect to my PC using wifi yet!I am using iTunes and they are sync to one another but not sure how to get new apps and move them to the iPad using the usb cable abd iTunes!
I sent my brother his new iPad 3 and he is in Qatar. Apple claims that at least the 3G will work overseas but what are the details on this? He received the iPad and cannot get his 3G account to set up. I know when I got my iPad 2 as soon as I landed in Baltimore I had it set up before even getting off of the plane. Does the 3 require a wifi network to set up the 3G or what?
iPad 64 3G/Wifi Looses secure wifi network credentials periodically. I retype in the 26 character key and I get back on. This is very unnerving and sometimes leaves my family stranded without a connection. Is this going to be a permanent flaw of the iPad?
I searched the archives here and couldn't find this problem, so hopefully someone can solve this for me.Just got a new iPad last week...it connects to my network fine, and signal is great. However, since the iPad has joined my home wifi network, all other computers are asked to enter the password each time they connect to the network. I do NOT have to enter the password when joining on the iPad.Router is Airport Extreme...I've upgraded to latest software, reset the router, etc.
My ipad is a mess. first two pixels were dead...(not a big deal, but i was going to eventually swap it) then i notice blotchy back light bleeding,(more reason to go get it swapped) then i get the wifi issue, (it had been working), wifi says its connected but will tell me i'm not when trying to use the internet, and sometimes asks for the password 500 times then this morning the mic stopped working.
I love my ipad, yet i hate it, so hopefully I get it swapped this weekend
I actually bought my 16gb wifi model yesterday while the huge line for the 3g was there.
Oh and what if they don't have a 16gb wifi model in stock (they were kind of low) would they ask me to come back when they do, or do they ever give a higher model if they have to?
I am sitting in school with my MacBook pro and my ipad 16gig side by side. I am on the school wifi connection with both but my iPad is sooooo much slower than my MacBook. Is there a reason for this?? I cannot figure it out?
I upgraded my iPad to iOS 5.1.1 last night.†Ever since then, it keeps losing the wifi connection. My laptop, ipod and iphone are not losing any connectivity with the wifi, nor has this been a problem with the iPad prior to upgrading the iOS.
Recently got an iPad 2 but my only source of Internet in the micro sim 3G Internet in the iPad. This is great fir everything bar trying to use my catch up tv apps like BBC iplayer and 4OD. When I try and watch anything via them it tells me I need to connect over a wifi connection, is there anyway round this that doesn't involve me paying out for a broadband router and contract?? I would really like to be able to use the iplayer apps.
My iPad has worked flawlessly with my home router since I got it six months ago but now, suddenly, every app says there is no internet connection -- even though it shows that it is connected to the router. Even more curious, my iPhone continues to connect to the internet through the same router. After I couldn't get a connection at home with my iPad, I went to Starbucks and had no problem connecting and going online via WiFi. Then when I got back home, iPhone works and iPad doesn't.
I have a jailbroken iPad wifi (non 3G) and I've recently bought the camera connection kit which has a USB port (which supposedly detects/connects to even non-camera devices like USB keyboards, USB flash drives, etc).
I was wondering if it would be possible to attach a 3G USB modem/data card and make the Internet work without wifi? The 3G data card otherwise requires a bare-minimum wvdial from a normal Linux terminal.
1. Can I get/install the wvdial .deb package on my jail broken iPad?
2. If I can get the package, will this work (wvdial detecting and using the USB modem and connecting through it?), or is it too far out?
My wife's iPad 2 just stopped being able to surf the internet or use apps which require an internet connection. It connects to our home wifi network just fine and shows strong signal strength, but when she goes to use something requiring a connection to the internet, it tells her that she has no connection to the internet.†
I have found my wi fi signal, i have put my password word in and it was all set up but now the last few days I can't use it, the loading sign comes up then after 5mins it will say unable to connect, is the a problem with my I pad.
Specifically, when I log into a wifi hotspot all is well until the unit goes to sleep, but after it wakes up of course I have to log back on to the network. Does anyone know of an app which will keep the iPad connected without the need to log back on every time?
I am at home with my wifi + 3G iPad and it shows it is connected to my wifi at home, yet the iPad has been using up part of my 250mb monthly allotment for 3G use. I have the "cellular data" switch in the "on" position in settings, but I thought it is supposed to automatically use the wifi when you are at home. I thought maybe my wifi was turning off periodically but I turned off the cellular data switch and the wifi works perfectly with a strong consistent signal.
I am again and again getting this problem. Sometimes I connect successfully and get Internet connection on my home wifi but sometime I connect but could not get Internet working while I still can use wifi on other device. I am using ipad3.
For about 3 weeks, my iPad doesn't automatically connect to my home wifi and when it does, I can only use it for about 5 minutes before it disconnects. My laptop and PC work fine.† I'm also having trouble with my iPod.
I am having trouble with my ipad staying connected via wifi. It is just dropping out and coming back on again. It has stopped recieving emails or updating showing the last was on 4/06/12 2 days ago.
I am not able to open anything connected to the web even when the ipad indicates it is connected
do I need to take it to an Apple shop or is there something I can do? shoudl I restore the factory settings and if so how do i restore the apps books etc when they are not showing on my macbook. I downloaded the books etc to the ipad not the macbook pro?
We have recently received a bill of £350 from our Orange, our mobile phone provider. These charges are apparently for ipad usage which is impossible as the ipad is constantly connected to the wifi in the house. The ipad never leaves the house as it is only ever used by my special needs child. Orange are arguing about this bill and have now reduced it to £50 but we are fighing this charge too!
