Does anyone know how to enable IBooks to read all EPUB files? I have several that I downloaded on a site that remarks they are readable in Adobe Digital for Mac (they are), I can import them in ITunes and sync to my IPad, but they are not readable in IBooks. I get the message that the file has the wrong structure
so downloaded some free ebooks but am new to this whole thing, do i need the kindle app? ive read something about that or can i just load into itunes?it appears they loaded into itunes have not synced them yet though.....not sure which is a better reading experience or how to go about it
I have installed the latest version of ibooks on my iPad. First of all I wanted to try if it works properly.
So I sent an e-book (epub format bought from a seller that is not Apple) by email. I recovered it from the mail (the icon was recognized as an epub file) and it asked me if i wanted to open it with ibooks.
Well, the app said that the file was corrupted or was not in a proper format to be read. This happened with other epub files.
Another app read those files perfectly (asked me only the authorization to read epub files inserting the ID and PW for Adobe).
Does it means that ibooks reads epub files bought only from Apple??
I was Kindle book reader for a while. I used to download .mobi book and read it on my Kindle Fire. Now I am iPad ebook reader I installed 2 reader apps: Kindle and Ebook reader. I could read my .mobi book only in Kindle app. It looks to me that Ebook Reader has better interface but it does not read .mobi. Well than I downloaded the same book but in .epub format.unfortunately Ebook Reader does not open it. I am confused because doc states that iPad should read .epub format.
I read ebooks in epub format I have downloaded from public library on the iPad? They are valid for 7 days, I can open them with Adobe Digital Edition. I get them into iTunes, I even get them on the iPad. But I am getting an error message when I try to open them with iBook. If iBook can't read them, is there another app I could use?
I converted my PDF files into .epub format, and now need to transfer them onto my iPad from my PC. I tried e-mailing them, but the iPad won't download them. I tried using the USB cable by dropping them into the DCIM folder, not working. How do you do that?
Has anyone successfully managed to convert a Word .doc file to epub so that it's readable by iBooks? I've tried the Stanza converters, which have consistently crashed the Books application.
sorry if im in the wrong section, but i have a couple questions re: epubs.1. I have downloaded a couple epub files from Project Gutenberg, can i just add these into my itunes library and they will appear in ibooks? 2. I downloaded an epub file via a torrent site, its a pirated version i assume ( i know its wrong) but testing to see if i can read a whole novel using a ipad screen- then happy to buy as we do for paperbacks now, can i add this into itunes for ibooks too? or do i need a jailbroken ipad?
I have iBooks installed on my iPad 3 and on Itunes I go into the Books tab and check off the books I want to sync. I can see the status saying that it transfered the files but when I launch iBooks there's no files in it.
IOS5: Images And Some Pages Not Being Displayed In IBooks EPub Files?
Jun 7, 2011
Just opened iBooks on my newly updated iPad2 GSM to find that no embedded images are being displayed and some pages are missing. The images are replaced with the "Image not found" placeholder image and I dont know whats up with the missing pages. I've tried deleting and redownloading directly from iBooks and I tried restoring them in iTunes with no success. I know the files are fine because the few non-Apple purchase ePub files I have on it look fine when opened on another platform.
I can't seem to get ePub books onto my iPad. I download them on to my Mac, and try to drag and drop them into the Books directory in iTunes but it won't work.Any suggestions?
Load Files (ePub, Cbr, Cbz) Onto The Goflex Satellite Drive And Then Transfer Them To Goodreader Or Dropbox Through The IPhone?
Aug 25, 2011
Is there a way to load files (ePub, cbr, cbz) onto the Goflex Satellite drive and then transfer them to Goodreader or Dropbox thru the iPad or iPhone? Not sure if it is possible or not. I want to load all my comics onto the drive and then transfer them as I want when I am on the road. Comic Zeal allows you to import thru Goodreader and Dropbox.
I asked this question when iPad had just come out and in response I got a lot of confusing reports as to how iPad reads pdf files. I am reposting this query in the hope that some of you who have played around with iPad for a few weeks can give me a clear description of how this device reads pdf files. And furthermore whether it is feasible to easily transfer a large amount of pdf files into iPad in order to read it on the go.
