Jun 17, 2012Someone broke into my house and stole my iPad and I can't find it yet with the find my iPhone app but I'll like to make a suggestion that in iOS 6 they add a feature that when you click the email me when found button it sends a picture of the person to your email also.

Stolen - 3G Activation And Tracking - Able To Track The Device ?
Apr 11, 2011I recently had my iPad stolen and I think I might know who the culprit is. It was an iPad wifi+3G. I know you can restore the device to factory settings and I cancelled the 3G service on it. My question is would I be able to track the device if the person decided to set up the 3G? Like would I be able to call apple and give them thus serial and see who was paying for the month to month service if they set it up? I don't have the find my iPad app on my device nor do I have mobile me?

Nov 17, 2010Today may 29th 2010 My Ipad was stolen from my car,its less than 10 days old.I was at the mall where they have an apple store>I confidently walked back into the mall heading to the apple store knowing for a fact that apple will help me and the police(i filed a police report) to locate the stolen Ipad since it has a built in GPS and i have the serial number.They furiously refused and very coldly and carelessly said that they do not do that and they dont even have any database for stolen apple products and they will not track my ipad what so ever.I sware to god they did not even say sorry for my loss.Here iam walking to the apple store with all confident and hope only to face the harsh fact that really they didn't care.Eventhough they can help and they can track and they have the capability to but they wont. Worse thing is it isn't my ipad and i have to pay for new one now that i cant afford.

Find Stolen IPad MAC Address?
Jan 20, 2011My iPad was recently lost/stolen at my university, and I was wondering how I could go about finding the MAC address without physically having the iPad. I know usually having the address wouldn't help in locating it, but since the person who took it must have been one of my classmates, I am hoping there is a chance that I could talk to the university IT department and see if anyone logs into the Wifi with my iPad. I'll just put it out there that I was dumb and didn't install Find my iPhone so that isn't an option unfortunately.

May 14, 2012My dad's car was broken into this afternoon in his driveway! He went in the house for 1 hour and came back out to find a thief had taken his iPad 2. I found it using the find my iPhone app and reported it to the police. It looks like it's currently in an apartment complex in a shady part of town. Police won't help. I'm surprised I found it since it's a wifi model and my dad had a pass code lock. I sent a message to the iPad with a few choice words and remote locked it. Now I'm considering what to do next. Wipe it or try and follow it somehow if it moves in the morning.
