View 8 RepliesLocation of 3 iPads at home is wrong! I live in NY, not Texas! This seems to be a recurring problem going back years. All other devices on the same network show correct location data. iPads report being in Texas and its really annoying. No offense to anyone from Texas, but come on...
View 5 RepliesI use my iPad with Verizon MiFi and the first time I used the Maps app, I was in Palm Springs. Now it thinks that I'm still in Palm Springs even though I'm 1500 miles away in the Midwest and it refuses to recognize that my location has changed. Does anyone know of a way to force Maps to reset my location? I've tried turning WiFi on and off, airplane mode on and off, resetting Location warnings, and rebooting, but nothing changes the location.

View 4 RepliesI got Star Walk last night and was dismayed by the poor performance it exhibited in augmented reality mode: the sky map jumped around a LOT.Thinking it was a Star Walk problem, I set off to see if the Star Walk devs were aware of it or had any fixes. That was when I decided to see if I could find a compass app, just as an additional data point so I could say for sure it was the app. I found MagnetMeter HD (http://www.plaincode.com/magnetmeter/) for the iPad, a free app, and loaded it. Imagine my surprise when it showed the same kind of problem! Sometimes it points east, indicating north; other times it always points north; other times, it jumps around randomly.

According to my 100-year calendar, the next date like that would be in 2018 and then 2035!
My Calendar shows the correct date and time and so do all apps.
So what's causing this? How do I get rid of it, I have the latest software.

View 6 RepliesToday when I was using my iPad, I noticed that location services were on - you know, the little arrow up top, next to the battery indicator.I'm used to it only being on when I'm using something that uses it, like the camera, maps, yelp, ect. Long story short, I exited out of every single app (by double clicking the home button and xing out any active apps), and it was still there. Ok, I hadn't updated to the latest update, so I figured I'd do that and see if it helps. Just done it, and the location services arrow is STILL there. I also tried turning off cellular data - no difference. Has this happened to anyone else, or is it normal to have it there all the time now, or what? Besides the vaguely Orwellian worry that I'm being "watched", I worry that it'll draw battery power needlessly.

The iPad location works with everything but "find my iPhone". The location settings are " on" under the general settings, but I get a " location services disabled" when I use the find my iPhone. The app finds all (4) of my phones, but no iPad even though the iPad shows up under "devices".Information :iMac Mac OS X (10.6.4).
