Sep 25, 2010Where does google maps app get it's traffic data? For the most part, highways are fairly accurate. But u zoom into Denver an there is red green an yellow all over the place.

Apr 28, 2010I'm looking for a good app on the Ipad to plan a future trip abroad.Technically I would like to do something similar to the desktop version of google maps: search for places, place pins and add comments and notes on the map for future reference, create itineraries and so on.Unfortunately, the ipad version of google maps doesn't allow to create custom maps with pins, but only allow to create bookmarks, which is not as interesting in this case.I looked for a few apps but could only find some allowing geotagging notes, and not placing notes on a map.

Apr 19, 2010I have used the compass feature in maps successfully at home. Currently, I am in an area with no hot spots but I do have Internet connectivity by DSL. Maps cannot determine the location which isn't surprising but the compass feature doesn't work either.

I mistakenly said no and now when google maps comes up in any instance I get a message that it does not have permission to use my current location. A help message says that I can go to Tools, Gears Settings, Click Remove next to google maps....but I can't find a way to do that on the iPad.
