Maps Zoom Level Limited - Satellite View Is Even Worse And Does Not Track The Street Map Zoom Level At All
Recently the Maps app on both my iPads started limiting my abilty to zoom in far enough to be able to read street names. This is a new thing, it was working fine a couple of weeks ago, but recently the maps started refusing to zoom past arbitrary and contstantly changing limits. On the iPad 2, the street names are fairly readable (indoors, with soft lighting), but on the new iPad 3 you need a pocket microsope and a sun shade to read them. Literally. The satellite view is even worse and does not track the street map zoom level at all. You can at least see secondary roads on the standard view, but you can't see streets smaller than an 8-lane expressways on the zoom level you can get with the sat layer turned on. When I compare it to Google Earth, the sat view available on Maps looks to be at an eye level of about 35000 feet. I used to use Maps to find specific buildings in Seoul, now I can only find things larger than the Olympic soccer stadium. (Visible as a 3mm oval) This limit is not imposed on the Google Maps web site accessed via Safari, nor in Google Earth for Ipad, nor on the Android Google Maps apps on my Android pad or phones. It only happens on the Apple Maps app, and only in Korea as far as I can tell. It zooms fine in Washington D.C., Tokyo, Astana, Teheran, and Moscow. It makes the Maps app completely useless on a Retina display. It's real pretty but you can't read it. I haven't been able to find mention new of this new "feature" anywhere else, has anyone here experienced this problem? Info: iPad, iOS 5.1.1

Version Of Google Maps Doesn't Allow To Create Custom Maps ?
I'm looking for a good app on the Ipad to plan a future trip abroad.Technically I would like to do something similar to the desktop version of google maps: search for places, place pins and add comments and notes on the map for future reference, create itineraries and so on.Unfortunately, the ipad version of google maps doesn't allow to create custom maps with pins, but only allow to create bookmarks, which is not as interesting in this case.I looked for a few apps but could only find some allowing geotagging notes, and not placing notes on a map.

Google Maps Compass
I have used the compass feature in maps successfully at home. Currently, I am in an area with no hot spots but I do have Internet connectivity by DSL. Maps cannot determine the location which isn't surprising but the compass feature doesn't work either.

Google Maps Permission Error?
I was researching a bike route on google maps in Safari and a pop-up asked if I wanted to use my current location. I mistakenly said no and now when google maps comes up in any instance I get a message that it does not have permission to use my current location. A help message says that I can go to Tools, Gears Settings, Click Remove next to google maps....but I can't find a way to do that on the iPad.

Google Maps To Find Places - Getting The Right Directions
I've been using Maps and Google Maps to find places, but notice that the directions aren't always concise. For instance, I looked for Best Buy in Stroudsburg, PA and went to this rural area with farms and no Best Buy. I'm wondering what other people think of Maps. Are you all pleased with it? or do you notice issues with getting the correct directions? own FC Studio

Google Maps Crashes When Search Place Beginning With Letter C
My Google maps app works fine except when I search for a place name beginning with the letter 'c' - then the app closes! Upper or lower case just the same. However, if I place another letter before the 'c' and then type the place name and then delete the first letter, all works fine, Anyone experienced this or have any suggestions. Normally I would delete and rinstall but this is not possible with apps supplied from new. Information: ipad iOS 4

Downloadable Maps - Maps Disapears
I would like to be able to use my 3G iPad for taking a road trip without activating 3G. Does anyone know of an iPad or iPhone app that will enable the downloading of maps that I can then use with the ipads gps to track my location? I know that I can access google maps and pan around and the iPad will store some of the maps, but after a few miles of driving, I "go off the grid" and the map disappears and I just appear as a blue dot in the middle of a gray sea.l

Google Search Links Go To Blank Google Page?
I'm on the iPad and do a google search using Safari. Google gives me lots of search results, but no matter which result I click on, the link takes me to a new, empty google search... shouldn't it take me to the page I clicked on? The only way to get to a search result is to manually type the results into the address bar or to copy and paste into the address bar Not sure if this is a Safari issue, a Google issue or an iPad issue.

Way To Zoom With The Notes App?
I guess there's no way to zoom with the "notes" app? It's simply too small of font for me on a regular basis. I tried the iDo Note app. I like the app and the adjustable text size, but it doesn't sync with Outlook. Anyone know of a note pro with adjustable font or text size and will sync with outlook?

4.2 Can't Double Tap To Zoom Within Frameset
Right now I am developing a web app., after updating my iPad, I wondered if I had made a mistake because all of a sudden when I would double tap on an image or text within an appropriate block (ie ) on a page that was part of a frameset, safari wouldn't zoom in.If I look at the frames one at a time, ie if I am looking at a single page rather than a frameset, double tap to zoom works perfectly. However the second that very same page is part of a frameset the double tap to zoom functionality is gone.On my iPhone 4 and my iPhone 3gs the double tap to zoom is still working perfectly.I mean if it comes do it I can redesign and do away with the frames entirely, but there are an awful lot of websites out there that still use frames. I swear before I updated double tap to zoom was working.
