Gmail Inbox Not Showing Any Old Messages
Jun 11, 2010
Hopefully my title was not too confusing but heres my problem. I used the the microsoft exchange option to load my gmail account on my ipad like i did with my iphone so i can get the push notification. I have the settings set to no limit for the "mails day to sync" option. And the only folder i have set to push is my inbox. As for general mail settings i have it set to last 50 messages. Is there any reason why my old messages on my inbox are not showing up in my inbox? Of course the new messages i read and get on there show up and stay on there even after i read them but anything prior to that is not showing up.

Won't Work With Gmail / Delete Messages From Inbox Go To Trash Rather Than Archive
Jun 3, 2010
Set up gmail imap account and started to notice that deleted messages from the inbox move to trash rather than archive. Furthermore I tried to change the settings in the advanced section of the mail account on the iPad and selected the all mail folder for the "deleted messages" field. BUT the iPad does not save the setting. Tried several times

Cannot See Inbox - Incoming Messages Do Not Appear ?
Jul 12, 2010
I am traveling with my iPad (and without my Mac ); I sent an email, then opened the Sent folder to see if it went out. Now I cannot get my inbox opened. When I open mail, the column is labeled "send". I have tried highlighting the inbox, but my incoming messages do not appear. I still see the list of sent messages. What can I do?

IOS: Cannot View Messages From The Mail Inbox
May 11, 2012
After updating my ipad2 to iOS 5.1.1 I cannot view messages from the mail icon. It shows 25 new messages, so I know it's receiving the messages but when the app opens there are no new or old messages in the inbox, and the only enabled function is to compose new mail.

Accidentally Deleted All Messages In Inbox
Feb 14, 2011
On 2 occasions, I have somehow deleted all messages in my inbox from my iPad. Once that happens, they do not seem to go to trash or my deleted folder. I cannot locate them on my iMac either. I have tried settings to make sure it asks before deleting, but that does not work. Can anyone suggest
1: How to stop it and
2: How to locate the messages or undelete them?

Delete A Lot Of Messages From Your Inbox Easily?
Feb 11, 2011
Anyone know of an easy way to delete a lot of messages from your inbox easily. The edit option is too cumbersome for deleting a lot of emails - like over 150. Also anyone know how to mark email as junk? That's the reason I have so much stuff to delete. If not, Apple needs to update their mail app to allow you to mark mail as junk and to delete your entire inbox if desired.

It Mysteriously Deleted All Inbox Messages?
Jan 19, 2011
A staff person was preparing to travel and prior to switching the Ipad to airplane mode, the staffer composed a message and saved it . Then the staffer clicked the edit button, selected a few messages to delete. Once the staffer landed, the staff person turned on the wireless and sent the saved message and then reviewed the selected deleted messages and deleted them. The staff person noticed that it was taking an extremely long time to complete the process. Once the process was completed, the ipad somehow managed to deleted all the messages in the inbox instead of the selected messages. Is there a process that triggers a mass delete?

Gmail Inbox Doesn't Refresh In Safari
Oct 29, 2011
I used Safari to log-in to my Gmail e-mail account (by default it seems to go into the Inbox folder). I then put my iPad 2 on my desk and expected the Inbox to refresh when a new e-mail arrived but it doesn't refresh. Does anyone know if I can make it refresh automatically when new e-mail arrives in the Inbox ?

Sending Email And Getting Duplicate In Gmail Inbox?
Jul 18, 2012
I use Gmail which is loaded in the iPads email folder; I deleted the Gmail app as I came to the conclusion that it is crap. Every time I send a mail I get a duplicate sent to my inbox which I don't want. I can't see anywhere in the settings how I turn it off. Every mail I receive is also duplicated too in the inbox. I hope I wont have to delete the account and reinstall.

Is Not Showing All The Emails In My Inbox
Aug 10, 2010
My iPad is missing almost all my emails. The mail app is only showing the last few days. I have the settings set to show the last 200 messages and to sync the last month and still its only showing about 3 days. I have to use the gmail web page in safari to see all my emails. Sort of defeats the purpose of a dedicated email app.I'm using google's activesync to sync my emails.

The SSL setting is on. my husband has 1st generation iPad and he can send messages. His settings and mine are exactly the same. I am stumped.

Respond / Trash / Save Gmail Messages
Oct 7, 2010
Many, it seems, want to have one message download on their computer and their other device, in my case an Ipad. I would like to "take care" of the message in one place (respond, trash, save, etc.) and then not have to see it in the other place. I'm now using gmail but can't figure out how to make this happen using Mail on my mac and the general mail settings on my Ipad.
Information:
Mac OS X (10.5.8)
IPad
