Connecting To Wired Internet Connection Though Bluetooth USB
Jun 1, 2010
I've done a search here and didn't find anything. I'm not sure if I am using the proper keywords though. I am trying to find out if it is possible to connect my ipad to a wired network using a Bluetooth USB. I have found a few items that show it is possible for laptops to connect this way, but has anyone heard of it being done with the Ipad. We don't have wireless access at work and I would like to use my Ipad there and also at my parents house.
Here's is the route I think it would need to travel. Internet to Wired Desktop then Bluetooth USB plugged into desktop after to Ipad connected to Internet through bluetooth.
Two of the places I frequently visit do not have wi-fi available. The only access is via plugging into a router with a Cat 5 cable. Works quite well with my laptop, which has a network receptacle.
But what do you do if you want to connect with your iPad? There's no 3G "out there.
There doesn't seem to be a network adapter that plugs into the iPad's port

IPad 4 :: Connect To Internet Without Using Any WiFi Connection
Jan 13, 2013
Most of the time I use it for surfing net. But the problem is WI-FI is not always available every where. I do travel a lot. So is there any other way to get connect to internet with out WIFI.
I am in Geneva for the weekend and was kindly offered free Internet access by the staff of the hotel that is hosting me.To my great surprise, when I clicked on their SSID name and was prompted to type my login credentials, nothing happened. At this point my girlfriend unpacked her iPad (I have a 3G, while she has a WiFi, both 64GB), typed the login and started surfing... I was offended... I am usually the tech guy, and she is usually the one asking for my help to get things going.
We didn't have time to play with it, so I had to postpone further trials. So I later tested my iPhone and it flew all over the Internet...
In the end, after repeating the procedure and changing one step each time, I eventually got stricken by an idea: I disabled Safari's AutoFill feature. For some reason the Save Password prompt doesn't appear on my iPad, and so the login page hangs forever until I hit the Home button.
So, if you plan on taking your iPad with you abroad (or in the hotel next door), keep in mind that what is ruining your plans could be a small glitch, with an easy workaround!
Information: Apple MacBook Pro 17 Aluminum (early 2009) Mac OS X (10.6.4) Apple iPad 3G 64GB
I'm going into a hotel where the internet is wired. It's one of those that require you to open the Internet Explorer, type in a code (given at the front desk) and then you're in.How can I use that for my iPad... I can't just plug in my wifi router in there, since it requires typing a login info. Is there a way my laptop can become a wifi bridge for the iPad?
Will There Be A Connection Error When The IPad Tries To Connect To The Wifi While Already Using Internet Using The Mobile Network?

Can the iPad support 2 internet connections at a time? Will the wifi of an iPad connect to the router while the device is already using internet via the sim card?

Connect To Adhoc Network/Shared Internet Connection
Apr 4, 2010
Really enjoying the new iPad. I've been successful tethering it to my iPhone 3G and using the internet with 3G speed. Although 3G speed is decent for many applications, I'd rather use a LAN network when available.I'd like to form an Adhoc wireless network where I work (no wireless available) and use the internet from a network cable plugged into my Windows laptop. Do you think I stand a chance? Anyone try this yet?

So trying to FaceTime my brother's iPhone4, and everytime it connects, I just see a black screen, and then it says it failed, and my internet dies. Not just on my iPad, but my desktop (which is hooked up via ethernet) and my iPhone wifi die as well. If I DON'T do FaceTime, internet runs fine!
