IBooks Word Look-up In Languages Other Than English...?
Feb 5, 2011I've been breaking the rust off of my Russian and was looking to make a few purchases of Russian language books. Is there a way to get iBooks to support dictionary search for words other than English written in Latin script? Russian is written in Cyrillic script.

Jul 1, 2010I´m living in Germany and also having my billing address there, which I had to fill in openig an iTunes-account. Because of this unchangeable fact it´s not possible for me to download neither apps nor iBooks on english for my new iPad... I´m obligad to use all adjustments on german! How can such a international product as an iPad be as handicapped?

PDF Won't Open In IBooks From Safari
Apr 5, 2012I found the PDF in the Federal Regester I needed in Safari it offered me the option to open in iBooks, iBooks opens but the PDF is not there. I've done a search to make sure I didn't miss it. This is the first time I've ever had a issue with this process.

May 5, 2010I have my eBooks collection on my university office computer and I use calibre's built-in server to make them available to me wherever I am. I use Safari to obtain a catalog listing of my eBook library and click on a book title link to download it. Safari then presents me with a button labeled "Open in 'Stanza.'" Stanza is an iPhone app that I have to run pixel doubled on my iPad. I would rather Safari let me open it in iBooks which is optimized for the iPad. How do I change that behavior?

Apr 4, 2010During exploration I selected a different language under Settings but (like being trapped in a Myst age), now all the menus are in what appears to be Chinese and getting back to English now seems to have a hidden pathway. How does one reconfigure for English?

Can't Download Pages In English?
Aug 4, 2010Can somebody tell me why I cant download the ipad version of Pages in ENGLISH?
I bought my ipad in Spain, where I HAPPEN to live. It comes in Chinese, Russian, German, Spanish and about 4 other languages, none of them ENGLISH. What IS going on? WHY? I though English was the global language anyway?

Finding English Books Only?
Dec 7, 2010I am a new Ipad owner and am really enjoying what I have so far. (I am not so brave as to try an update to OS4 yet).
My question here though, is when I search ibook store how can I get it to display only books written in English?
Also, when I browse on my PC windows 7, I can not seem to get a "categories" option to narrow down what I am looking for (primarily history, biographies and classics). Is there a way of doing that. On my ipad, it does allow a "categories" option where I can select what category I want, but the non-english books are still listed.

Jul 16, 2010For reasons I do not wish to discuss, I am forced to use the German iTunes store (bah).
To my surprise, they don't offer any JRR Tolkien stuff there - not even in German. I mean, how ridiculous is that ? I can buy the (english) hardcopy of LOTR in any well sorted book store but not on iTunes?
Anyways, without further ranting, has anyone figured out a legal way of getting the eBook version of LOTR on their iPads ? In Germany, mind you !
What eReader do I need and where would I buy from?

Everything came up as � etc so will the ipad be PAL and all things in english.
