Some were speculating the the function (top row) keys on the Apple bluetooth keyboard might function as their counterpart keys on the keyboard dock (F1 serving as home button, etc.).

View 3 RepliesI have an iPAD with the apple bluetooth wireless keyboard and the arrow keys, esc and tab do not work. All the other keys appear to work fine. I tried the keys in multiple apps as well.

This may not be the right place for this, but I have really been struggling to find a good keyboard to pair with my first iPad. I have the apple keyboard, and absolutely love it, but when I paired it with my fathers iPad 2, the arrow keys wouldn't work...I did some research, and it seems like thats just reality. Kind of a deal breaker for me, as I was looking to do a lot of typing on the iPad and the arrow keys are pretty essential for that. So, I go ahead and buy the Kensington Apple iPad 2 key folio Pro performance not even thinking the arrow keys would work on that, and they do!

So whats the deal? is it possible to override whatever apple has done to disable the use of the arrow keys on the keyboard they make? If not, has anyone come across a good, portable bluetooth keyboard that they have paired with the iPad? As much as I like the Zaggfolio, I have casing worked out, but this keyboard thing is kind of ridiculous.
For example, I found this logitech that says if its for the iPad, but 65 bucks? and who knows if it even has the arrow function I'm looking for...[URL]
I really applaud apple for its accessibility functions on the mac. However, I was disappointed by the limited functions on the iPad. I really miss my sticky keys while using the bluetooth keyboard!
Is there any way to make this happen? If not, apple, please add this improvement!

View 3 Repliesjust purchased a dock and wifi keyboard for my 64gb ipad today. the apple wifi keyboard didn't give any hassles when connecting via bluetooth but it doesn't type the correct keys. for instance, the q and the a are reversed, and i can't for the life of me get it to enter @, which means this thing is unusable. purchased the ipad, dock, and keyboard from best buy whom i despise and am worried they'll give me a runaround when i attempt to return the keyboard. can't wait for apple to build a store in south bend / mishawaka. Whats happening is i have a brand new apple wireless aluminium keyboard and when typing, interferance cuts in and the keys just repeat themselves over and over. Spacebar, you name it, it repeats.Anyone got a fix for this please?I've turned wifi off and still its a nightmare, keeps doing it.Works perfectley with my macbook however.

I am often using the Apple bluetooth keyboard to work on my iPad, but I realized that when bluetooth is on I have no way to get my iPad on screen keyboard to reappear. I was wondering if anyone knew how to do this without having to disconnect bluetooth each time.

Is there a way to access the iPad keyboard while using the apple blutooth keyboard without pressing a button on the Bluetooth keyboard? There are times when I am away from my keyboard, but still need to type on the iPad. The only way I can figure out how to do it is to turn off my blutooth. Is there a setting on the iPad 2 or command/swipe that will bring up the onscreen keyboard?

View 8 RepliesI have an Apple bluetooth keyboard that came with the iMac, but it's been sitting unused since we are using a full-sized USB keyboard with the iMac. I plan to use this bluetooth keyboard with my iPad when it comes. I already have a few bags that are the right size to hold the iPad and the keyboard, but I want a sleeve for the keyboard so it doesn't bump with the iPad. (I don't want a sleeve for the iPad, as I'd like to be able to just slip it out of the bag to use.) Has anybody seen any sleeves for the keyboard?
View 7 RepliesI have an older apple Bluetooth keyboard(the big bulky one with clear plastic body) and I can't seem to get it working with my iPad. I use this keyboard with my imac and it works just fine. When I'm trying to add a bluetooth device my ipad pics up the keyboard but does not connect it. When I click on the keyboard to pair the two it keeps saying paring for some time, and then it says searching for new devices. Also another weird thing is when my wifi is on and I'm trying to pair my keyboard my wifi icon disappears, but if I go into settings it tells me I'm connected to my network.
