Itunes Can't Connect And Needs Passcode?

Jun 15, 2010

I've been having trouble with wi-fi not connecting. Turned my ipad off and on again. When it came back on I get the needs to sync with itunes screen. Itunes can't connect because I have a passcode on the ipad to lock it.

This may seem stupid, but how do I get to the screen to enter my passcode to unlock the ipad?

ITunes Could Not Connect Because It Is Locked With A Passcode?

Sep 10, 2010

I just bought a 64GB iPad in France on my journey. In Denmark we haven't got it yet, so there's no support for me yet...

In the french store they let me connect to iTunes on one of their Macs, so I could enter my new iPad. Then I played with it the rest of the day (didn't sync with my MacBook, cause it is being fixed) and also put in a pascode as I do with all my devices.

Next morning when I turned it on, it only showed the "connect to iTunes" symbol again, as if it was new. And when I connect to iTunes, iTunes only says "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your pascode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes"...

And that is a contradiction! I can't do what the iPad says and i can't do what iTunes says...

Any ideas? Any ways to reset it other than by holding down both buttons at a time, because I have tried that already.

IPad :: Disabled - Could Not Connect To ITunes / Locked With Passcode

Aug 26, 2014

"iPad is disabled" connect to iTunes. That's a message on my ipad's screen. I've never synced ipad to any computer as i don't have one, so I've used someone's laptop to connect ipad to itunes (i've downloaded itunes on it). When i did that, a message on hte computer's screen came up: "itunes could not connect to the ipad „ipad“ because it‘s locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on your ipad before it can be used with itunes.“

Then I followed this (see below) but only up to the sixth point, as it never allowed me to restore it, instead i waited for an hour for itunes to download something, that disapeared and nothing happened as soon as the download was over. :

„Use recovery mode

Follow these steps if you never synced your device with iTunes, if you don't have Find My iPhone set up, or if you can't get to your own computer. You'll need to put your device in recovery mode, which will erase the device and its passcode. Then you'll restore your device as new or from a backup.

1.Disconnect all cables from your device.
2.Turn off your device.
3.Press and hold the Home button. While holding the Home button, connect your device to iTunes. If your device doesn't turn on automatically, turn it on.
4.Continue holding the Home button until you see the Connect to iTunes screen.
5.iTunes will alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode.
6.Click OK, then restore the device'

IPad 2 :: ITunes Couldn't Connect / It Is Locked With Passcode

Sep 7, 2014

How managed to disable my iPad 2 and the problem I am faced with is that it is telling me to connect it to iTunes, but when I do it gives me the following message: "iTunes could not connect to the iPad because it is locked with a passcode. You must enter your passcode on the iPad before it can be used with iTunes."

I obviously cannot enter the passcode because the iPad is disabled, so the next best thing is to do a force recovery which would be awesome but when I hold down the off button (even for 60 seconds) and holding the home and off button but nothing happens....

IPad Mini :: Disabled Connect To ITunes - Forgot Passcode

Sep 3, 2014

I've forgotten passcode on ipad mini. Ipad is disabled and says connect to iTunes.

When iPad is connected to laptop and iTunes is opened it says I must enter passcode on iPad before it can be used with iTunes.

I've tried the erase option on find iPhone - but to complete the iPad needs to be connected to the internet.

All I can get now is "iPad disabled connect to iTunes"

So how do i connect it to iTunes or get it to complete the iPhone erase function? Tried pressing and holding home button but that doesn't do anything.

Unable To Connect / Screen Frozen

Jun 21, 2010

Ok so there's lots of threads on here where people have something go wrong with an iTunes restore or a Spirit jailbreak, but it always turns out that all they need to do is a restore or use DFU to restore.

My problem is, I can't do either!

The day I got my iPad I used Spirit to jailbreak, I ran into a couple of problems and thought I'd bricked it. I ended up just using the restore mode (holding sleep and home until I got the connect to iTunes image) and using iTunes to do a regular restore. I re-jailbroke it with Spirit successfully and everything was good.

A few days later I was playing with an app called "Categories" which clearly wasn't designed for iPad and ended up getting it stuck on the apple boot logo. Not a problem, I used restore mode and iTunes to get it back to factory defaults and re-jailbroke it again.

Everything was fine and dandy until a couple of days ago when I was playing with an iPad app, can't remember the name of it, but it was for free iDevice texting (it wasn't Ping or TextMe) I pressed the button to change the app's background image and the iPad Froze. It stopped responding totally so I held down the sleep button and it eventually shut off. When I turned it back on I got stuck on the apple boot logo so I figured I'd have to use recovery mode again to restore. No such luck.

No matter what I press, or hold, or so on, I can't get the connect to itunes image to appear. Just a black screen. I connect to my Windows PC and I can hear the USB plugging in sound, iTunes says it has detected an iPad in recovery mode and needs to restore. Problem is, when I do that it always freezes on "Waiting for iPad"

I get the apple logo on the iPad screen with a progress bar, just like the other times I had to restore, but it never moves off 0% no matter how long I leave it.
I've tried different USB ports, cables, re-installed iTunes, different versions of iTunes, re-downloaded the iPad .ipsw file, different PC... But still can't get the damn thing to restore. I've spent 2 days now trying and re-trying.
I'm pretty sure I'm screwed. The only thing I haven't tried is doing the restore on a Mac because I don't have one. I don't want to take the iPad back to the apple store for the genius' to fix because I haven't managed to restore it and they *may* know that it's been jailbroken. I guess I could plead ignorance though and say it just froze in iTunes or something.

ITunes Does Not Ask Passcode?

Jun 5, 2012

Today I plugged my iPad to friend's Mac to charge a battery and coincidentally discovered big security problem. Automatically iPhoto has popped up showing all the photos available on my iPad, without asking for a passcode, which I always been assuming it will ask when connecting iPad to a PC or Mac. More than that: iTunes has allowed me to browse through the documents stored within the apps i.e.: DocToGo and copy it on friend's without single authorization. In comparison to RIM's Blackberry always asks for a password when try to connect to any device.

Unless resolved, I am seriously considering to stop using iPad for work because of security issue described above. make every Mac/PC with iTunes/iPhoto and other similar applications.

ITunes Frozen While Updating To 3.22

Aug 24, 2010

I connected my iPad to iTunes today and it said their was an update to 3.22 I think it said so I said OK and it started the process. It's been over 3 hours and it's stuck at about 90% on backing up and has not budged in the last half hour or so. Runing Windows 7 on a PC here. The strange thing is that I cannot minimize the window or stop the process by clicking on a cancel button. There is no cancel option. When I click anywhere in the window, I just get a bell sound ding and I can't do anything. I think it's frozen although the rest of my computer is working fine. What should I do? Ctrl Alt Delete? What will happen if I do that?

Won't Work With Itunes / Can't Enter Passcode

Jun 11, 2010

I just bought an ipad today. At my office, I connected it to itunes just to register it. Then played with it for a while. Downloaded some apps, etc. I also put a passcode on it. Now I get home and turn it on, and it's asking me to connect to itunes again as if it were brand new? And whats worse is that itunes on my iMAC won't open it because there is a passcode on it. The problem is that I can't get to the screen to enter the passcode because it immediately asks to connect to itunes. I tried resetting by holding down sleep/wake + home, and that did not resolve it.
