Has anyone else experienced freezing on he iPad? I've had it happen twice and I'm wondering if I should take it by the Genius Bar or not, or if this is a common bug. It has happened twice and it lasts roughly five minutes. The screen stays lit, but it's completely frozen. The touch screen won't work, and neither will the off/sleep button.
I got my ipad 2 as a present for xmas and for the past 2 weeks the touchscreen continuously freezes up. It won't let me touch anything at all. The ipad is still working as the lock button at the top works and the home button at the bottom still registers, its just the touch screen. I have held the lock and home button down to reset the ipad but when it turns back on it is still frozen. The only way it seems to work again is if I just leave it for about 2 hours or so and eventually it works again for a bit. I have also done a complete factory reset from my itunes on my computer and as soon as it restored itself and loaded all my data back on, guess what, the screen froze.
And have noticed that a part of the touch screen doesn't work, I have tried resetting but there is no difference.† Has anyone had this issue?† Do I have to send back to apple to get fixed or can I just take back to the store I bought it from? Hanks
After flawless operation since getting my iPad 2 on launch day I am now having some issues.
1. Wi-Fi will randomly drop out. 2. This causes the touch recognition to be unresponsive. Home button, power, volume buttons all fine. 3. Occasionally the iPad will then act like it is possessed and will randomly perform touch related operations. 4. This requires a reset, turning Wi-Fi Off and back on to recognize the network. 5. A few times the Wi-Fi has "Grayed Out" and requires a rest of network settings to restore it. 6. Also will cause the time on the iPad to become out of sync.
I have tried doing a restore with and without using a backup file. The wireless router apperas to be functioning fine and is used by a Laptop, two iPhones, and a DS with no issues at all. The iPad had no issues for weeks either.
Funny thing is that is seems to be happening only in the evening time. My wife uses it during the day while I am at work and she has had no problems.
What are my options here? If I can fix this that is the best thing, but if not I purchased it at Best Buy WITHOUT a protection plan. Do I need to return it to Best Buy or take it to an Apple Store (An hour and a half away)
Some times when im on my ipad 2, it freezes for a good 5 minutes and i cant do anything, home button doesnt work, on/off switch doesnt work and side switch and volume rocker also dont work, and the screen freezes.
here it goes. I received the iPad on monday night 6PM and my parents let me take it out the box to check it over, everything was great so I decided to plug it into iTunes and install iOS 4.2.1 everything went fine (download took an hour :/) but when it went to install the update, once it got to 'Preparing iPad' the iPad just shut off and froze on an apple screen and iTunes reported an "Error 21". I thought I broke it, seriously! but I tried to remedy it by using restore mode, DFU mode and various other ways of installing firmware and it just didn't work, I was stuck. But then I tried installing iOS 3.2.2 and... ERROR 21... but it just restarted and turned on like normal as if I never tried to install anything, it was in it's previous state, I was relieved! But it still refuses iOS 4.2.1 and I'm really missing out without those features, so will somebody please tell me why my iPad won't install the latest update?
The missed call screen freezes in the iPhone 4S. This happens to me all the time. I've reset the whole system, I've upgraded the iOS from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1 and nothing, the problem persists. †
La pantalla de llamadas perdidas se queda congelada en el iPhone 4S. Esto pasa luego de perder la llamada. He restablecido todas las funciones, he actualizado el iOS de 5.0.1 a 5.1 y el problema persiste.
I have an iPod Touch and am getting an iPad soon and was wondering if any of the apps I have purchased for my iPod touch will work on the iPad. I have some specific ones in mind if the answer is "it depends." I will post them out if that's the case.
I recently sent my new 16GB wifi iPad to Apple due to some touchscreen issues I was having. Upon receiving the iPad, Apple did testing on it and concluded that they could not reproduce the issue. The problem was that there was a Ĺ" portion of the touchscreen not responding to touch. I got back my original iPad unaltered and immediately set it up as a new iPad on my computer and tested it using the Adobe Ideas app to ensure the touchscreen was working properly. The same issue is occurring as was before sending it in. It was recommended that I make a youtube video of the issue and post it on this board to get help in fixing the problem. Here's the video -> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s_U-3kBIJ90
I am so frustrated; at hotel, ipad picks up wifi just fine; safari opens for me to enter password and login; I enter the correct one (I've done this dozens of times and had others try too) and the screen either freezes or never connects. I've reset factory settings; turned off autofill in safari;
I've never had this problem before with any wifi connection with my iPad.
The provider is the Cloud; I'm traveling in sweden.
It was working fine until recently. Now everytime I try to launch the app it gets stuck on the screen where it says "connecting to poker buddies". I have to close the app from the recent apps bar every time before I can launch it again. Never had this issue before. I think it started happening after the latest zynga poker update. I've tried deleting the app and reloading it as well as clearing cookies.
I have a hand me down iPhone 3GS and notice it's much less responsive to my finger than the iPad. Is this something with the iPhone or does the touch screen get less sensitive over time? I know the 3GS is pretty new so the phone can't be that old.
I just purchased an ipod touch and am wonerding how can I tell if an application I purchased is going to be useable on my ipod touch? Will I have to purchase a majority of the games/etc. over again because I bought the ipad versions?
Got my iPad 2 today, wifi only 64GB, got everything synced up nice. Was just testing everything out and tried to play all of my videos. Purchased music videos played absolutely fine, but I also had a couple videos I ripped from a DVD. When my iPad tries to play it, the screen goes black and the app completely freezes, I cant tap once, and then tap Done to go back to all of my videos. Press the home button, force close the videos app, try to reopen the app and it comes right back to the black screen. Try a soft restart, reopen the videos app, still black. Only way to solve it is to resync with iTunes. Keep in mind, the videos play perfectly fine on my iPhone 4 and classic.
