This problem applies to both my iPad 2 and my iPhone. At home, I have two wifi networks...one that just streams music to my home theatre via Airport Express and the other which connects to the Internet. My iPhone and iPad both connect automatically to the music streaming network. Is there a way to force them (by configuration or an app) to latch onto the Internet wifi network instead?
I have had this happen every once in a while, when attempting to open Safari, it just indicates the iPad is not connected to the internet. I can't find a way to force a connect. Sometimes it pops up and has me type in the security code, and when that happens, I always get connected.
What causes this loop I seem to occasionally get stuck in? I'm in that situation know, so had to jump on my PC to post this.
Unable To Connect Wifi Connection/Looses Secure Wifi Network Credentials Periodically?
Nov 15, 2010
iPad 64 3G/Wifi Looses secure wifi network credentials periodically. I retype in the 26 character key and I get back on. This is very unnerving and sometimes leaves my family stranded without a connection. Is this going to be a permanent flaw of the iPad?
How Do I Disable Wifi Auto Connect For A Particular Wifi Network
Sep 15, 2011
I recently connected my iPad to a wifi network with weak signal strength. Now my emails get stuck in my outbox instead of being sent. I can turn off wifi and use 3g, but then I have to remember to turn it back on when I leave. How do I stop the iPad from auto-connecting to the faulty wifi?

I recently bought the iPad 64 wifi + 3G. I face a problem when I want to switch wifi to 3G network or the reverse. I do it through the parameters window. The wifi or 3G indicators do appear but then when I launch safari, no connexion is madfe and the following error message appear : "No cellular data .." What can I do?
Plus I have problem connecting when both wifi and 3G are on.
The ipad should manage this easily. That's key for its use.
IPad 2 :: Hiding Wifi Ssid, One Of Best Ways Of Securing Wifi Is To Hide The Ssid. But Can't Connect To The Network?
Jul 2, 2011
as I understand it one of best ways of securing wifi Is to hide the ssid. but when I try this my devices obviously can't connect to the network. even though they have connected before so should remember the network.
anyone else tried/managed to do this or is it not worth it? have altered the default admin password on router
My employer also provides wi-fi login via a portal on the web. I purchased my iPad yesterday and was able to connect with no problems, even if only for a few minutes. Today, I almost lost it... Trying to get this thing to work all day. Needless to say, it was a very unproductive day.I read many posts on this forum and have to say that I feel your pain... Or should I say, I felt it, as I too was locked out of my networkAll day, I have been attempting to connect via the "Apple recommended method": Settings > Wi-Fi > tap on my network name on "Choose a Network" > etc > etc I tried everything, and nothing worked.Until about 10 minutes ago, when I wondered what would happen if I simply pointed the browser to a web page. Somewhere accessible (given the right circumstances). I used www.google.com (but it could have been www.salesforce.com... or whatever!).
I have a iPad Wi-Fi connection problem. All the "fixes" seem to point to changing router configuration or changing to a different router. That's an option if its YOUR router...but how about when your traveling as I was over the weekend. When your in your hotel and the Wi-Fi keeps disconnecting...OS
My University uses an 802.1X authentication protocol to connect to our wireless network, and for some reason it doesn't seem to work on my iPad. To connect I use the same configuration profile that I use on my iPhone (where it works perfectly).I find it extremely odd that it works on the iPhone and not the iPad. This is making my iPad almost unusable at school, which kinda *** I guess that's what you get for being an early adoptBtw: wel also have an "open" network where you connect and then the login screen pops up (which is where you then input your student login info, and it then goes away) however my iPad always hangs when submitting this information (this doesn't happen on my iPhone).
I don't even need to wait for a 3G model because the tethering from my iPhone is flawless. Been on it all day!! Basically the mywi app creates a tethered wifi network that the iPad sees right away. Amazing. Posted from my IPad while in the car.
The device has already been activated on the Rogers network in Canada, but roaming charges for data are very high.I would like to be able to get an AT&T (or other) microSIM when in the states on business, but not sure if the activation process has locked the iPad to Rogers now?Can anyone at Apple comment on what my options are?I've called in the US, and they are not sure. I've also called Rogers, and they have no idea.
Love my wifi, but I may want 3G. Yes, I could have waited, but honestly, even if I waited I likely would have gotten wifi. It was only after using the iPad so much that made me even think about 3G.That said, is Apple letting people pay the difference? Is anyone selling their wifi to get a 3G?
I have a MacBook 13", an iPhone 4 and an iPad 64 GB WiFi connected to my wireless network. I am using a LinkSys BEFW1154 version 2 wireless router. I just purchased another iPad 64 GB WiFi/3G. I cannot get the new iPad to connect to the wireless network. I enter the password, which I have checked, and it says it is not the correct password.
So I'm sitting in my house browsing the web on my iPad, wifi signal is at full strength and then out of nowhere a pop up thing that says "connecting" shows up and dims everything else so I can't touch anything else, it only last for about a second. Then my status bar says I'm on 3G, then a second or two later it does it again, and switches back to wifi
It will happen about once every half hour or so, I'll try and get a screen shot next time. Anyone else experiencing this?
WiFi / LTE - How To Know If Network Activity Going Across
Mar 15, 2012
I will get my Verizon LTE version tomorrow. If I have LTE on and I am connected to my WiFi network will all the activity go across WiFi? How can I tell where the network activity is going across? On my iPhone 4 it doesn't matter as I have unlimited data so I never looked into it.
