How To Purchase Microsoft Office App?
I have two iPads that we need to put a PPT presentation on and then we are giving them to the client to keep. I am going to start the iPads off by setting them up with our office iTunes (without syncing anything) so that you can get to the home screen. My question is, how can I go about paying for and downloading the Microsoft Office App (or whatever it called) and not have future purchases made by the client hit the credit card we used to buy the Apps? Is it as simple as buying the Apps and then removing the credit card from the account? Does there always have to be at least one credit card on the account, or if there is no card on the account, does it just prevent you from making purchases.

View/Edit Microsoft Office Documents
What do you use to view and edit Microsoft Office documents on your iPads? I assume Pages can deal with Word docs, but what about Powerpoint, Excel, and Publisher files? Do you all use Google Docs, Microsoft Office Online, Zoho, or some other service? My 3 requirements for the iPad are:Insane battery life Ability to view/edit PDFs greater than 500 pages (iAnnotate) Ability to view/edit Microsoft Office documents 2 out of those 3 are already sorted.

Microsoft Exchange Will Not Log Off
I used the exchange server for my work and after having logged off, I closed the window but suddenly changed my mind, re-typed the server URL and hit go. Surprisingly I was in automatically without needs of re-entering username and pw.

Use It In A Microsoft Environment?
I am a new iPad owner. I have a Wifi/AT&T 3G, 16gb device that was purchased to be used in a pilot for our organization. The pilot includes about 15 others in IT, Administration, Workforce and Emergency Preparedness. We are a regional governmental agency. Our organization, from an IT perspective, is a heavy Microsoft user. In addition to the normal products (Office, Windows, SQL Server), we also use SharePoint and Microsoft CRM. From what I've learned in the 1st week, I suspect my searches/questions/comments will be centered around how to use the iPad in a Microsoft environment that takes full advantage of the Microsoft software.

Microsoft Excel Vs Documents To Go
I am having issues with Microsoft Excel worksheets. When I get it as an email on my ipad it will show up with muliple worksheets and tabs at the top of the page. If I then put this document in Documents to Go and sync, it then shows up on my ipad with only 1 worksheet when there may be multiple worksheets. Why is this? Can anyone help with this?

Any App Which Is Similar To Microsoft Outlook
Looking for an ipad app that works similar to Microsoft Outlook, incorporating Email, Tasks/To dos, and a calander. Have an iPad 2, wifi only, 32 gb. I have found several that have tasks and calander, but none that incorperate email too. It would be helpful to be able to sync with outlook on the PC, but this is not a requirement.

Microsoft PPTX Presentation - PDF Reader
Yes, I have seen the 200 threads on similar subjects, but they are all over the place. I'd like to hear from PC users who use Microsoft PowerPoint please. I have yet to find an app that will render these accurately. I had Documents To Go on the iPhone and they are coming out with a iPad version. In the meantime, however, I'd like to throw some presentations on the projector using the VGA adapter.I tried using DropBox (very very nice app by the way) and the rendering was a bit off. My next bet is to convert the PPTX to PDF, and which point I would need a PDF reader that- displays one page at a time full screen- renders complex PDFs accurately
- outputs to the VGA connector.

Microsoft Courier Vs Apple Tablet?
After viewing the Microsoft Courier video I was quite impressed. I kept thinking, "Wow, will the Apple tablet be better than this?" After viewing the iPad launch, I was mildly underwhelmed.
For the most part the iPad appears to be an oversize iPhone with some MacBook Air styling. The way users interact with familiar desktop apps is groundbreaking perhaps. But IMHO it does not offer new computing paradigms. According to a Macworld article, enterprise is not too impressed either. Perhaps there will be a market for the iPad, in the same way there is for the MacBook Air.
For discussion: Does anyone think iPad will grow beyond a niche product? Did Apple leave the door open for Courier to be the favorite? Will Microsoft botch up Courier by the time it reaches the market (morph it into an oversize Zune)?

Viewing Microsoft OneNote Notebooks
I like taking notes on Microsoft OneNote. I would like to be able to review my course lecture notes on the iPad. I was wondering what's the best program to do this. I also record some of my lectures and was wondering if there is a program which will enable me to play the recordings like you can in OneNote. All of my course lectures are in PDF or power point formats and I print them to OneNote and then i take notes in the space provided. I would like to be able to view and incorporate all of this into whatever program.

Microsoft: No FLASH In Win 8 Tablet Mode?
First thing many are finding trying the Windows 8 preview is Flash is 'not working' in Metro (tablet) view mode. What has not been mentioned much is it's not working by design. MS like Apple has decided to go to a plugin free approach for Windows 8 Metro. Read the comments posted yesterday by Steven Sinofsky the Pres of Windows division, sounds a lot like Mr. Jobs to me?
Quote:For the web to move forward and for consumers to get the most out of touch-first browsing, the Metro style browser in Windows 8 is as HTML5-only as possible, and plug-in free. The experience that plug-ins provide today is not a good match with Metro style browsing and the modern HTML5 web.Running Metro style IE plug-in free improves battery life as well as security, reliability, and privacy for consumers. Plug-ins were important early on in the web's history. But the web has come a long way since then with HTML5. Providing compatibility with legacy plug-in technologies would detract from, rather than improve, the consumer experience of browsing in the Metro style UI.
