Am patiently waiting for the delivery of my iPad Wifi set to deliver Apr 16th. I am a student at Devry and college require us to have an anti-virus program to connect to their wi-fi network. Does the iPad comes with any?
Any Devry iPad owner here? Can you share your experience on campus with the iPad?
One of the advantages of get apple products is that your in a virtual gated community, so I read somewhere, but anyway...
I found some antivirus but it cost like 50 bucks. VirusBarrier - First Apple iPad Antivirus and Firewall
dont know if it is really necessary as all i use it for is web surfing and emails some apps..
I have 3 laptops that have windows Vista, with no anti virus, no adware, nothing, just used to surf the web and play stocks online, never had a prob., but I dont install anything on them nor DL anything; but those arnt my main puter (my main pc and LT run windows7 (64 bit on pc)) i have nod32 and adware and a bunch of other small programs to keep it safe.. They never had probs at all..
has anybody got any anti virus for ipad, anything free out there?
So first there were netbooks, ultra cheap/portable/long battery life. Then people think that since they can do whatever they want on a netbook, and its portable, its awesome it?What can you do on a netbook? messenger/surf/Facebook/twitter/email/read documents and you have the tiny keyboard where you can type withyou certainly can (barely) use your netbook for stuff like photoshop and counterstrike, but who would? But before i get to do all that, i (at least) have to install:1. Anti virus2. firewall (or just use the one built in)3. any office suite 4. preferred browser
My ipad1 keeps crashing from inside apps, normally while typing - goes back to the home screen. Haven't updated lately as heard there were issues, have updated apps. iPad has never been jail broken, and there's also been issues with it not recharging. Have reset it more than once and it's still happening, I see apps available through iTunes for anti-virus (as this is now all I can think it is), but not sure which ones are dodgy so won't try them or does ipad1 only have a year lifespan (considering what it cost nit impressed with that idea)
When you open your email program and select a email to read from your inbox how do you get rid of the window/box on the left side of the screen so that the email that your reading takes up 100% of the screen.
I've been extolling the virtues of Dropbox for sending pics to colleagues who don't have Ftp.Now I can't find a way to move Pages documents on the Ipad to the Dropbox for syncing with my desktop and phone and other users. As there is no directory facility for drag and drop, is there another way of doing it?
My iPad started to auto-command itself. First some extra letters when writing a note, then scrolling the page. Now closing software and opening another by it's own. Now the latest thing is that if I open my notepad, it starts erasing the text and typing something else on it This is my first mac, and I've always thought that no anti-virus is necessary. My iPad is NOT jail-broken, and I've downloaded apps only from Apple apps store.
I am totally new to Apple, just "won" an iPad (happy birthday to me!), and have been spending a few days exploring it. I'm curious about the need for virus checking software? Unable to find any info on the apple website or in the iPad manual. I am a Dell dudette and I feel sort of "naked" without the Norton or McAfee shield! iTunes is also new to me, we went with Microsoft's Zune early on. I have the iPad 16GB WIFI model. Am I missing something? I do like the iPad, but the initial WOW factor I felt during the first few hours has already started to wear off...
I have a strange problem. Safari now comes up with a popup message: http://www3.bestsafety14.xorg.pl Warning! Your computer is vulnerable to malware attacks. We recommend you to check your system immediately. Press OK to start the process now.is the only choice! I have not pressed it, but Safari is therefore unusable. I have yet to find a way to get Safari Mobile out of this without pressing the button (until the dialog is cancelled, no Safari commands are available.)I tried clearing caches, history and cookies in Settings, but that makes no difference.
I recently did a jailbreak on my iPad and installed backgrounder and circuitous. Was using it for a few days with no problems. Recently I also installed Installous and download a bunch of apps to try out and see if they are worth while to purchase on iTunes. I'm getting the following pop up message which is locking my iPad and requires me to do a hard reboot. "The Judge Said: This App goes to Jail."This seems happens only when I push the home button while trying to use backgrounder. The last time it occurred I was in Safari with nothing else open and I was trying to engage backgrounder. Previously it happened in Installous.
Coming from a Windows background, one of my main concerns with computing is having a virus scanner. I haven't seen a virus scanner in the app store, so is this one more thing I don't have to think about with iPad (even a jailbreak (?) iPad) and other Apple products?
When I open up safari and go to google it redirects to yahoo, I did a search and apparently this a a new type of virus, does anybody know what to do?I guess the problem is that generally you need to download a tool to remove viruses how do we do this on the ipad?
