I disable the preview sheet so it email messages are not automatically opened when i start the mail program on my ipad it is very frustrating that it would let me view my in box alone like on the iphone.
View 2 RepliesI am new to the ipad.I receive email just fine but I get a message when I am on the email that says Cannot Send Mail. The connection to the outgoing server 'smtp.live.com' failed. Additional Outgoing Mail Servers can be configured in Setting > Mail, Contacts and Calendars.

Anyone know of an app that will pop up an email preview when email is received? Would eliminate having to exit the app to check email.
View 2 RepliesI saw complaints on the inbox on the left hand side and the email preview on the right and not being able to hide the inbox but if you swipe the bottom of the screen from left to right the inbox hides to get it back and tap the inbox button.

In email settings i changed lines of preview to zero which only controls the list on the left the ipad still previews one entire email in the split screen i just want to see my in box and only open an email when i click on it this drives me nuts when i delete an email i just read it takes me into another email that i do not want to read yet.

My iPad 2 alert me on receiving an e-mail with a preview having the name of the sender, subject and two or three lines of mail content. But when I click on it, I can view only blank e-mail content. How can I get rid of this issue?

I have moved a spread sheet across from excel, yes I am a happy convert, but I want o be able to replicate a simple invoicing system i set up on excel. There I was able to enter my invoice data on one sheet. From one line on the sheet, I was able to copy the data across to a second sheet that was set up as an invoice I could print fro my clients. The first sheet stayed as my accounts record, accumulating my records and eventually forming my records for tax purposes. I can copy the information across on numbers manually, but I want to be able to enter the data onto one sheet, and it appear on the other automatically. I have tried copying the value, but it has not worked.

View 18 RepliesI just tested out the Mail application to see if it would automatically retrieve email while I was not in Mail. That "Push" setting is on. I used a different email account on yahoo and sent myself an email but icon on home screen did not show the email coming in (red box with number in it) after waiting about 15 minutes. I then opened Mail and the email came in since it always checks right away. From what I understood, Push setting meant it would automatically retrieve an email whenever it came in, or maybe I misunderstood. What is the point of that new mail red box icon indicator if Mail doesn't retrieve email unless I'm in it and I know already?
