Different Wireless Network Preferences?
Jul 3, 2010
So I've finally ponied up for data on my iPad in the uk with o2. I've also joined to a btopenzone to use my free access there. It's really great when im out and about but when I'm at home I want the iapd to join to my personal wifi. Annoyingly there is a btopenzone within range of my house and the ipad seems to always want to join to that, every time I come home i have to reset the wifi preference to join my own network. So is there a way to tell the ipad to prefer my wifi network over the btopenzone?
Tldr; is there a way to get the ipad to prefer one wireless network over another?

Authentication - Wireless Network
Aug 1, 2010
I was trying to connect my iPad to the school's open wireless network which requires a user name and a password. And the page do pop up when I first get connected to the network. However, after I typed the information and clicked submit button, the page just stuck there and I couldn't click any link on this page and cannot zoom in and out. So I am wondering how I can solve the problem here. BTW, the other links on the login page just works fine. And moreover, I do really think iPad's wifi configuration *****. I cannot even type a user ID for a WEP network. So Apple trying to get into the enterprise market?

Reading PDF While Not On A Wireless Network.
Apr 6, 2010
I have an ipad and would like to be able to read my pdf's when i am not connected to a network. I have tried emailing the pdf files to myself and opening them that way however some of the important files are too large for me to open on the ipad itself. I have mobileme and can put the pdf files on their but the mobile me idisk application needs to obviously be online before i am able to connect to it and it does not officially support the ipad's larger screen so i am stuck reading pdf's in the small box in the center of the screen. What other options do i have for doing this?

Won't Connect To Wireless Network WPA
Nov 2, 2010
I cannot connect my iPad to a wireless network running WPA2. I simply get the message back "Unable to join the network network name". This has been tried on an Airport Express and a Cisco wireless concentrator. Disabling WPA2 and the iPad will connect to both networks without issues. What is iPads support for WPA and WPA2? No issues with either Macs running Mac OS X or other PCs running Windows or Linux on the same network.

Cannot Connect To My Wireless Network
Jun 17, 2012
After using my IPad with my wireless network successfully for many weeks, I am no longer able to access the internet on my IPad even though it shows being connected to my wireless network. I had used my IPad with cellular data yesterday as I was away from home and then continued to use cellular when I got home before switching back to wireless. Now I cannot connect to wireless. I tried resetting network connection, but still no luck.

Unable To Connect With Wireless Network
Apr 11, 2010
Two days into iPad... loved it day one. Day two, can't connect to my own wireless network at home. Have read all the posts about this topic here... no solution seems to be working short of being RIDONCULOUSLY close to my router. Oh, and this is a decent router that works for every other apple device I use from iPhone to MacBook Pro.

Set Up A Wireless Network - Portable Section
Aug 9, 2010
I do a lot of travelling with my company, typically staying in hotels where the company will pay for Internet access in the hotel room or Internet access is free with the room rate. To enable me to use my iPad in the various different countries I have thought about purchasing the AirPort Express Base Station (See Link below) so I can set up a Wireless network in the hotel as it looks pretty portable.

Youtube Performance - Wireless 802.11g Network
Jul 8, 2010
I have a problem with youtube performance in either the youtube app or via the website. The load time of the video is considerably slower than on my iMac, for example a 3 minute youtube video could take up to 10 minutes to load. The iPad is connected to a wireless 802.11g only network via a DSL-2640R router. Broadband speed is 6mb. Testing right next to the router did not improve performance so its not an interference related issue. Googling this issue had me changing DNS servers on the iPad which did not improve or reduce the performanceUnless there is a problem with the device could there be a minimum broadband speed required for loading the HD videos via youtube on the iPad or is there something else I can check.
