Dictionary For IBooks Like Kindle?

Sep 26, 2010

One disappointment for iPad has been that I am unable to find how the dictionary works, or if there is even a dictionary. On my Kindle, it wa as easy as putting the curser over any unfamiliar word. Is any such similar feature available for iBooks on iPad ?( I purchased The New Oxford american Dictionary on Amazon.com)

IBooks Vs Kindle

Apr 25, 2010

iBooks is a visual treat and a great 'paper like' experience, but Amazon's Kindle App platform blows it away with two killer features. 1) Selection. They have far and away more books than iBooks. I've had a hard time finding the books I want on iBooks. Time will solve this but for now, Kindle trumps. 2) Device agnostic. A kindle book works on the iPad. But it also works on my iPhone, my Windows 7 PC at work and my MacBook Pro

Kindle Vs IBooks

I personally think that iBooks looks allot better and the integrated store is a big win. However the Amazon book store had more books that I was interested in and at a better price. Anyway time to poll those using their iPads as books.

How To Prefer Ibooks Or Kindle?

Oct 18, 2010

Interested in thoughts on what folks prefer: iBooks for iPad or Kindle eBooks. Personally I prefer Kindle books on iPad - Kindle eBooks seem to be more feature rich and I like the fact that Amazon keeps track of purchased books, eliminating the need to sync books via iTunes.

Any Way To Get Kindle Books Into IBooks?

Apr 23, 2010

If you *only* have the Kindle app, and not an actual Kindle, is there any way whatsoever to get to the files of the books you have purchased? I want to legitimately purchase some ebooks from Amazon, but I don't like the Kindle app's inability to change the font style (and other stuff). Where are those files actually stored? After some reading it seems like if you have a physical Kindle you can download the files themselves from your Amazon account page directly to your computer, but I get the sense that's not true if you only have the app. And when I look at the free ebooks I've 'bought' from Amazon on my account page, the only option is to deliver them to the iPad.
