Might have been discussed before but has anyone noticed when deleting or moving apps in any other orientation other than portrait with home button down the controls are all backwards and inverted?
IPad 1 Landscape Mode, But The Icons Stay In Portrait Mode
Aug 17, 2011
See the picture where my iPad 1 is in landscape mode, but the icons stay in portrait mode. Not a big issue since just rotating the iPad to force the layout to update fixes the issue. Seems to happen when unlocking but still cannot figure out how I can trigger this. (yep, I tried locking in portrait mode, then flipping in landscape mode to unlock).
first Apple product ever. Installed the ABC player app and noticed that it will not switch to landscape mode when I rotate the Ipad. The Netflix app does- is this normal?
I found it interesting yesterday when my wife and I were sitting next to each other with our iPads. I use mine almost entirely in landscape mode while she is almost always using hers in portrait mode. This made me wonder how do each of you use yours primarily. I understand certain apps may force you to be in one mode or another. But for general surfing, e-mail, etc., which way do you hold it?
I just thought it might be interesting to see how everyone has been enjoying the keyboard so far for the iPad? I really enjoy typing on it (in landscape mode). I have actually made most of my posts on here from my iPad!
It does not happen every time, but on occasion when a popup for "Undo Typing" or "Choose a Wifi Network" shows up while typing, the popup window is under the keyboard. The keyboard is disabled while the popup is there, so the hide keyboard button does not work. The visible buttons on the popup are usable, but are rarely what I want to select. I can just use the home button, but in Safari this usually means I lose whatever I was typing at the time. It doesn't sound like much of a bug, but it is very annoying. I have turned off "Ask to Join Networks", but I can't find a way to turn off "Undo Typing". Is there a way to turn off this feature?
My ability to switch between Portrait and Landscape is gone. iPad is locked in landscape. I've shut it down (powered down) but that hasn't done the trick. Don't see a way to unlock it so that will go into portrait.Information:iPad 3GiPhone OS 3.1.3
It seems you lose the tool bar in landscape mode on the ipad. Could someone confirm this, and is there a way to make the toolbar visible in landscape mode?
After attempting to watch a video, the iPad stayed stuck in landscape mode. None of the following helped: turning on & off, attempting to sync, shaking it around, using different apps. I finally did a Reset All Settings and it put the device back in portrait mode but now stuck there. Since all else has failed, I am about to do a Restore. information: iPhone OS 3.1.3 ipad
the iPad has a nasty habit of sometimes switching modes. I would like to lock the mode until I unlock it. I have looked through Settings and did not find a "lock" key. Information: Macbook Pro Mac OS X (10.4.9)
In the past few days I have noticed a VERY weird problem -- when in video mode and only in LANDSCAPE, it will only register touches every once in a while. In portrait mode it's fine. And this is only the video app -- nothing else does this.
create folders/subfolders in landscape mode, hide the message list (as you can in portrait) so you can get full screen. Why the message list isn't a floating pane as in portrait mode I dont know - big mistake IMO.I hope they open the door for 3rd party mail applications. There is SO much room for improvement. At least I've got my girlfriend off of webmail now. And off my Macbook. Now she's just go to keep me off of my I mean her iPad.
