Anyone experiencing a dead area on iPad screen?
Info:
iPad 2
I'm having a problem with the screen sensitivity on my iPad. There seems to be a certain area on the screen that is dead to the touch. When I try to file up or down in that area it won't work. But if I move over a bit, my touch is then recognized. Sometimes the screen recognizes a down movement but not an up movement. I've checked to make sure the screen is clean and have done a hard reset, which doesn't seem to help. But in writing this, I've found no dead spots. It only seems to be fileing up or down.

There is a small part of my touch screen not working. Is there a fix or will I have to get it repaired?
View 1 RepliesThis morning, the wife's ipad screen and all pictures look like someone drew on them with pink marker.
AND a lot of the areas on FB and other apps have turned pink..
Hasn't been dropped, software up to date, no new apps.

View 5 RepliesI have New IPad for two days, and found so many defect, I don't know it's normal or not.
1. A small area at the bottom of the screen - the band two millimeters in height does not respond to touch, it's a problem, or so conceived?
2. Sometimes after a sleep, it goes crazy, opening programs, leafing through the screens, why?
3. When it horizontal position, the button on the right home, not working new tab bottom in Safari.

I just got my iPad today and I noticed there 2 dead pixels. Should I go back to the apple store and get a new one?
View 15 RepliesIt has a dead spot on the top of the screen. Has anybody else had this problem and if so is there a fix. I have a appt at the Genius bar on Sat, I am hoping they can fix it or give me a new ipad.
Like so many of you, I received my new iPad on launch day after ordering it from the Apple Online Store and upon turning it on I noticed 2 dead pixels near the centre of the screen. No problem I thought, booked a Genius appointment at my local (ish) Apple Store as soon as i could get to it to request an exchange. So on the day of the appointment I was told after 10 minutes of the guy looking at it and making phone calls that it couldn't be exchanged as it was online stock and had to be exchanged via the online store.
View 13 RepliesSo, I've read that apple will either replace, or fix your IPad, if there are more than 3 dead pixels. Is this true? Has anybody gotten their ipad replaced, due to 3-5 small dead pixels? If so, if I purchase Apple Care, would that policy concerning the replacement, still be covered on the IPad, 2 years down the road? Do I need to bring a proof of purchase, or can they just check it up online, which is what I did when checking remaining warranty?
View 1 RepliesI just received my new iPad (3rd gen of course) and it has either some dead pixels or a bit of dirt under the screen...
This is so ultimately disappointing and very frustrating. I'd swap it but Apple has no stock.
Just wanted to let anyone that's interested I just got back from taking my iPad 2 into Apple today as there is a dead pixel in the middle of my screen. The genius came out and looked at it, and said he needed to take it to the back for further inspection. He came out about 10 minutes later and told me that they will replace it, but would have to order it since the don't actually have any in stock. So now I just have to wait for them to call me with my new iPad ready, but there better not be any bad backlight bleeding or any more dead pixels, because I'm not having that.
View 9 RepliesJust got a replacement 64gb 4G arranged through Apple. After setting it all up last night, I noticed at least 3 dead pixels on my screen.Only noticed them due to being in Sketchbook, where the screen is bright white.thought at first they were just dust and tried to wipe it off, no deal, definately pixels.
Admittedly, they are very small and you have to look for them, however, now that I know they're there, my eyes just keep going to them.I was a bit worried that this would affect my resale value and so took steps to get a replacement. In fairness, Apple were brilliant and apologetic, replacement organised without any issues.
I have a 32g 3g original version iPad..The screen is dead but I when I hook up to iTunes I can still see my data and sync etc. so the insides are working fine. I want to permanetly errase all the my personal data and settings. How can I do that when I can't see the ipad screen. A simple reset from iTunes will not do that will it?
Info:iPad, iOS 5.1
My new iPad has a huge dead/unresponsive area down the middle of the screen.
View 6 RepliesI got my Ipad out today and it won't fire up. Nothing, no sync, not on the charger. I left the lock switch on so maybe it is just needing of a charge? But how long from a dead state does it take to get one to power up?
View 2 Replies57 days ago I bought a iPad and my headphones have broke and there is a dead pixel on my iPad and it is really annoying! What shall I do? (I bought it from a comet store)
View 2 RepliesI have a dead area on my iPad screen. I've searched the discussions to solve my problem to no avail. While waiting on the phone to talk to tech support I noticed something. The dead area seems to only be while using Safari. When I change to another app, the dead area is gone.
View 2 RepliesI have found a dead/stuck pixel on my iPad 2 screen and not sure what I should do about it. The problem is, this is my fourth unit due to light bleed issues and the other 3 replacements I have had have also had scratching on the back, straight out of the box. The unit I have now is the best one I have had - less light bleed issues and a flawless backing. Only issue now is that I have found this dead pixel. It is really obvious and really annoying but I don't know whether to take it back because of all the trouble I've already had with the previous units.
View 14 RepliesI just realized that my ipad 2 has 1 fully dead pixel, 1 half dead pixel ( fainter ) and screen bleeding at all corners and couple of other spots...
Does apple's warranty cover this screen bleeding issue? Anything I should know before taking it to apple?
