I usually use videora to convert videos to my iphone/ipod, but when i use it for the ipad, the videos come out looking pretty bad because there is no option to convert to ipad resolution (which is higher than iphone/ipod obviously) anyone found a program that converts videos to ipad resolution?
I've heard people say they want to see a better screen resolution on the next ipad. I have an iphone 4 so I understand. But I've only seen an ipad up close one time at that was a while ago. Is the screen that bad on the current ipad?
Simple Program To Convert Movies To The System Format ?
Jul 28, 2010
I'm trying to find a simple program to convert movies to the right iPad format/resolution etc. What is the easiest one to use that works for pretty much all formats?
Interested in a good app to convert to an iPad friendly format. Was using Handbrake for awhile, but the devs are idiots. I asked if they'd eventually add a batch encode option so unlike every single other encoder it wouldn't take five steps to add one file. I was then permanently banned after being told it was a stupid suggestion and likely never going to happen. Firstly, why, when every other encoder can handle it, and secondly, what the hell? Ban-happy much?Like it to be as fast as Handbrake and everything. On another note, if anyone can figure out how to add more than one file to Handbrake at once without adding every individual source file to it, I'd love that. I have like three hundred TV shows I'd like to encode and clicking each one individual seems like an absolutely primitive idea.
I have the new iPad and im looking for a way to convert some videos that are HD and will remain in HD once they are converted to a format that the iPad will play.
There are a few video podcasts on Vimeo that I would like to save on my iPad. Most of the videos are 2-3 hrs long.Is there a way I can save the videos and watch them offline?
I'm looking for an app or something that I can use on my iPad 2 to convert videos. Since videos from my phone to my email won't open because of the 3g2 format, and I want to fix that, but my computer can't exactly handle the job.

1024x768 Screen On But Wont Play Videos At This Resolution?
Jul 21, 2010
Seeing the specs for the ipad as being a 1024x768 screen, I created h.264 videos from my DVDs at this resolution at a 10000Mb/s bit rate (I wanted HIGH quality). The converted videos play fine in Quicktime and iTunes but will not transfer to the ipad with itunes saying they cannot be played on this device. Can anyone help me understand if the ipad can play 720p HD video, why can't it play videos at the devices native resolution?Does anyone have the exact h.264 video specs that the ipad can handle?"H.264 video up to 720p, 30 frames per second, Main Profile level 3.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats"
Is There Option For Videos To Sync At Lower Resolution Like There Is For Audio
Oct 22, 2011
Just realized that my iPhone 4S videos are not playable on my iPad without transcoding to a lower resolution. I enjoyed that my iPhone 4 videos would load into iPhoto, then would sync to my iPad just fine, but now that the iPhone 4S has 1080p the videos won't sync. Is there an option for videos to sync at a lower resolution like there is for audio?
How To Convert Videos?/This Document Cannot Be Opened
Nov 15, 2010
I apologize if this is not the correct forum.
I have a question regarding people who use handbrake.
I have been trying to convert videos to mp4 and I just use the regular preset to convert avi's to mp4's and sometimes quicktime is not able to open the files that has been converted. "This document cannot be opened"
I used to avi files and converted them with the same preset and one was successfully opened and the other not. The files are less than 1GB.
Both files did open with VLC.
I did search in the web but did not find any information as to why it was not working. So I am stumped. Can anyone give ideas?
I posted this in the hacking section, but maybe this is just a general question.I came across imtoo's iPad Mate and the trial version works great, but it's expensive, 60 bucks. This software can convert videos and dvds to iPad plus it can transfer ipad contents to computer. it supports ipod and iphone too, so i can transfer my friends ipod music to my ipad, which is way cool. i've search around the net, but just a lot of junk.
im new to this site, been lurking for two days, first time posting and im very into my ipad. i think its a pretty sick device. a few more additions and changes and i think this can be almost at level with a laptop but I've been doing fine since my laptops died since I have a family mac at home and the ipad is great for browsing.
Only thing missing is some really good business programs, especially for ebay and a heady music program like ableton where you can make complete song set ups, tho i really enjoy electribe and thumb jam.
anyway to the topic of this thread- Just wondering if anyone knows of any solid programs that can convert all kinds of video to Ipad format and also that doesn't mess up the idea after a few minutes which is what i notice happens with a lot of programs. an example being that after 5 minutes into a tv show on some programs after converting the audio will go out of synch with the video. n e way, if you know any good programs please let me know cause it would be nice if i can put all kinds of video onto my ipad and i think the screen makes for good viewing and is enjoyable for watching shows.
Settings To Convert My Videos To Get The Best Video Quality On It?
Jul 19, 2012
I'm having some trouble figuring what settings I should convert my videos to get the best video quality on my new iPad. Does the new iPad actually playback videos at a higher resolution in comparison to the 2? From what I understand 1080p is the max res supported that I can playback correct? Assuming that my sources are HD videos, what software would be best for getting the best quality videos on my iPad?
