I brought the iPad on my first European trip since getting it and have attempted to connect to the TDC network on the train and the network here at the hotel. In both cases, have had the same exact experience... the iPad sees the WiFi network with no problem, and pops up the Login screen for that provider with no problem. I go to the userid/password fields, key in the information as requested, and then either hit "Go" on the onscreen keyboard or touch the "Login" button beneath the userid & password fields. In both cases, absolutely nothing happens. It's as if the screen is dead... but it isn't. I can touch the "Accept terms" checkbox and that turns off and on. SOMETIMES I can click on the text field again to get the keyboard to try "Go" on the keyboard, but not always and in every case it again nothing happens. For "Go" you hear the keyboard click so the screen captures the touch, but in the case of touching "Login" nothing happens.
So after playing with my new iPad all weekend, I was looking forward to bringing it to work today to share with co-workers. The major issue I am running into is that I can't gain real access to the office wi-fi.
I'm not sure what the technical term is for it, but to connect to the Wi-Fi you're taken to a webpage where you login and then go about your business. On a laptop, after login the browser pops up a window that lets you know you're logged in and has your 'session' details. On the iPad, this screen cannot be moved past. It just sits there, no way to close it. Closing Safari then terminates the connection.
Is there a solution to this or is connecting at work via Wi-Fi pretty much not going to happen?
Why It Connecting Us To The Internet After We Login Initially With Wifi
Jul 2, 2012
We are logging in to a protected wifi site at our vacation condo with the proper login credentials. After we login once we are not asked to log in when we use the iPad again. However, we cannot connect to the internet anymore. We get a message that says we cannot connect to the internet. The iPad does show that we are connected to a network.Could the login page be causing a problem?
Unable To Connect To Wifi - Blank Login Page Appears On Connecting
Jan 28, 2010
Once a week, I go to a place of business, a new building with free Wi-Fi available to all. Everybody that I've met has been able to connect easily. In my case, only iPad owner, I clearly get a strong signal, but once I reach the page 'click for access' (no need for a PW) I get a blank login page. A bit embarrassing.
On ground level of the same building, there is a restaurant with free access through another network. iPad connects perfectly.Could it be an issue only with the iPad ?
I seem to have a weird problem that is only effecting my Ipad (and yes, I did reset all network settings and update it). Both at work, and outside, whenever I try to access a wifi connection that requires me to login (I get a "connecting" alert and then a popup window to login). I can see the login screen, I can enter user/pass/etc but when I click on the go/sign/login button, nothing happens. I try with another Ipads, works fine.
I know nothing about computers or ipads so Ihope I can give the correct information. I got my ipad a month ago and the wifi worked great for about 2 weeks. My apartment requires you login when you log on and when I connect to the location the screen on the ipad just goes blank with login written above it. I cant sign in. It works on every other device I own
Not Accepting Wifi Login/screen Freezes Or Never Connects?
Oct 14, 2010
I am so frustrated; at hotel, ipad picks up wifi just fine; safari opens for me to enter password and login; I enter the correct one (I've done this dozens of times and had others try too) and the screen either freezes or never connects. I've reset factory settings; turned off autofill in safari;
I've never had this problem before with any wifi connection with my iPad.
The provider is the Cloud; I'm traveling in sweden.
Screen Looked Totally Messed Up While Connecting WiFi?
Jun 21, 2010
When trying to connect to WiFi and entering login and password suddenly screen looked "totally messed up" (colorful rectangles covering website of loging). I tried to reset, Apple logo came, and then screen turned totally red and nothing happened. Tried to reset again, and this time it turned off and since then it's dead. Connecting/disconnecting to iTunes does not help (iPad not being recognized) on/off + home button even for 5 minutes, no impact, cable power in to ensure battery is charged, no impact. Is there no hope anymore?
I can't seem to get my iPad to load up my Gmail. It tells me my login or password info is incorrect. However it works fine on my iPhone and iMac. I'm pretty positive I'm entering the information correctly.
Info: iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), i7, SSD, RadeonHD 6970M, 16GB RAM
I am trying to use my ipad at work with the guest WLAN they provide to customers. I have the correct username and password to use when the web authentication screem comes up. When i type it in and hit submit, the page just freezes and nothing happens. What is going on?
I'm in a hotel room and can log in with my Macbook to the hotel wifi, and my wife's iPad can log in to the hotel's wifi, but mine will not. I can see the wifi and connect to the wifi, but then a screen comes up and asks for the username and password. When I enter the username and password (and press enter) the screen locks and nothing else happens. If I do not enter a username and password and press enter I am told the password is incorrect. If I actually enter random letters as username and password, the screen locks. The login is going to login.nomadix.com.I have tried the usual network resets, powering on and off, and power+home button reset. None of these work. This is the second time I have had this problem at this hotel, but I do not have problems anywhere else that I am aware of.
Can't login to my library wifi. It is different than most other networks in that it asks for a login and password using it's own screen. I don't believe that it is Flash because I have connected to the network before. The network seems to not have any difficulty with Apple iPhones and other Apple products.
I don't think I'm having problems with the Wi-Fi but instead this is a Safari problem. When I'm at the university, they have this login screen to input your username and password, nothing new, I do it everyday either on the Macbook or in the iPhone.
When it comes in in the iPad I put all the data and usually pressing enter or the continue button will make it go, but instead Safari -or the auto login window that comes in before using the browser or any application- just stays there without responding to my fingers.
Have anyone experience something similar? I don't think it's a WiFi issue because it works perfectly with my home's router and even my iPhone MiWi tethering.
After seeing the mac theme shaotse made in the categoriesSB topic, I decided to recreate the mac os x log in screen into a graphic for an ipad lockscreen. So using ssh from one of my macs to another I grabbed a screenshot of the login screen.Nothing on it actually works, its just a graphic, and I've uploaded the .psd so you can edit the text to suit you.Would really love it to be a working log in, but I really would have no clue where to start!I haven't tested yet as I don't get my iPad until next week, but if the slide to unlock bar fits in between the 'back' and 'log in' buttons it would look pretty sweet, and then if the slide to unlock text is changed to something like 'slide to log in'.For those who don't know how to change the unlock text check this out http://tysiphonehelp.com/forum/showt...lock-quot-Text.Here's the download link. http://www.mediafire.com/?uamzpzba8f5ua21. Enjoy, and feel free to reuse it how you want!
Has anyone had success joining a wifi network that requires a login through a webpage?
I see dozens of posts about router configuration problems. That's great if you have control over the router.
Since I bought my iPad, I've stayed in four hotels and could not use the wifi service at any of them because iPad can't get past the login screen.
I live in Singapore and have an account with the public wifi service "Wireless@SG", which is available most places I go daily. Can't get past the login screen on the iPad. So I go to the coffee shop and have to put away my big iPad and go back to my little iPhone if I want connectivity.
So basically, with the current issues, the iPad is awesome if you have control over the router, but for those of us who travel 80% of the time - which is an ideal consumer for the iPad - we don't have the luxury of configuring the routers. I don't think the hotels are running to fix their HTML5 compatibility just for one device.
we running an iPad pilot within our company and I'd like to use the internal wifi guest network. the guest network is using a loghin page with userid and password and a little checkbox to accept the terms.when i connect with the ipad (and iphone as well) and fill in the required fields it nicely connects. but after sleep or a reboot it keeps coming with the login page and needs the uid/pw/checkbox. I can make the ipad remember the uid/pw and it fills them in the login page but it keeps wanting the checkbox.there should be some automatic protocol to auto login so I connect to the company wifi just like it is at home (i know, wpa2 at home is completely different, but for the end user is isn't
Cannot Connect To Internet After Login To WiFi Network
Jun 7, 2012
I can log-in to my wifi network but all I see is a spooling circle next to my netowrk name as if it is trying to connect, but it does not. Every other device in my house is working fine connecting to the internet, but my ipad will not connect.
I have a Ipad 3 at workplace. To use the Wifi available in Workplace , i have to login to the splash page as soon as i select the Wifi from Settings. Once i enter my credentials i am connected to WIFI. But if i move away from workplace and come back again , i have to enter the login details again to get connected to Wifi. Atleast i end up entering these credentials 2 or 3 times daily. Is there a way to avoid these login in splash page. I searched google and tried to make safari to remember the password , but that didnt work as well.
Is there any app in Appstore or Cydia. My Ipad is jailbroken , i couldnt find any app in appstore or cydia to avoid this.
