Ok so I got home from work and I pulled my iPad out of my laptop bag and I noticed that when I turn it on there are like these colored lines and also this big white bar across the screen. Why are those things there?

Ever since my iPad hit the floor very slightly I have colored lines across my screen.

My 2 year old daughter got a hold of my ipad and dropped it on the ground... it was dropped on carpet and only about 1 1/2 feet from the ground. the ipad was in a case so I dont understand how that impact could have caused my ipad to freak out like it is.
I tried turning it on, and the lcd screen showed thick black and grey bars vertically, and horizontally colored fuzzy lines. I tried restarting, i tried rebooting, i tried restoring and nothing worked.
I saw a similar thread and have read about people just hitting it on the back, and it would restore to its normality. I even tried this but I didnt have the same luck.. Usually theres videos on how to fix problems like these that involve opening up the device and fixing a loose wire or something but I am having no luck finding an actual solution, and since its not under warranty, at this point opening it up and trying to fix it is something worth trying.
This happened this morning but I have noticed that in the last couple of hours or so, i can turn my ipad on and it will look just fine as if nothing had ever happened and i can use it with no problem, but then i press the sleep/wake button, and then if i turn it on again immediately, the bars and lines will show again.

I am a recent iPad user and bought mine a few weeks ago. About two weeks ago the screen on my iPad started going wild with coloured and black lined jumping and popping all over the place like some kind of weird noise you sometimes got on the telly back in the day. I waited for a few seconds and it stopped. Now today it started doing the same only the lines were black and white and thin. Again I waited and it ceased. I only dropped it once and it was in my handbag which cushioned the fall and it has been behaving perfectly normally since.Could it be the leather cover I got? It has this magnetic clasp which locks the screen when I shut it. Could that interfere with the screen's work or something?
View 1 RepliesI replaced my digitizer screen, my Ipad 3 powers up and I have access to applications. Now the Video LCD screen has a one inch white block with a black strip in the middle. The white and black block out is in the middle of screen and is displayed landscape and in vertical position. Is there any software or settings fix for this problem other than replacing the LCD video screen?

So my mum had the iPad 2 for 3 years now no problems. Today she went to use it and the screen was black with a white layer that spreads across the screen but before it gets very far flashes and is gone then starts again. She also swears her iPad is heavier than usual and it does feel heavy

When I playback any video there are lines on the screen - kind of it is an old movie. And those lines change their orientation when you flip the screen.

ok, so after two years (roughly) and surviving what could be said an impossible number of drops and falls, my ipads screen has died. it fell on its side straight down onto tile... it lights up slightly and has some low lit white/gray pixels going across the screen, but is mainly black. now, i have two questions.
1) my warranty is out... will it cost extra to get it fixed or am i SOL and have to buy a new one...
2) after looking all over, i cannot find out how to find a way to get it fixed without driving a ridiculous amout away from home. (about 4 hours) how can i get it fixed? anyone know a link here on the apple site that can help me????

After waking up my 64GB Ipad (software version 3.2.2) the ipad frozen. I restart it (home-sleep button combination) but now screen is black fullfilled with multicolored horizontal lines. When I connect it with my iMac, iPad is recognized, starts the backing up process, but screen is still black with colored lines.
when watching video from youtube, i can see 4 red lines flashing down the screen in full screen mode.you can see it clearly especially if the background of the video is black. it'll be on for a little bit then go away, then come back on again.
