Sep 28, 2010

I just purchased the card reader for the iPad. When the SD card is inserted, the iPad gives the message "The attached USB device is not supported. I have tried several different SD cards with same result. Looking for information on next step to try.

CF Card Reader - Dynex Card Reader

Jun 10, 2010

Other topics suggested using a CF card reader to transfer photos from a Compact Flash Card to the iPad. I have a Dynex card reader model # DX-CR121 it will not work with the iPad as the iPad says the device requires too much power. Looks like I have to use an external card reader that does not require any power from the device it is attached to. Can anyone tell me what CF card reader will work?

Sim Cards For 3G - Can A French Card Be Inserted Into An English

Nov 28, 2010

If I were to purchase a 3G enabled iPad here in the UK, could I take it to France, purchase a sim card there and e.g. a months subscription (forfait), take out the UK card and replace it with the French card, and start to use the iPad in the normal way. On return to the UK, I would then replace the UK card, and carry on as normal here.

Apple Camera Connection Kit With Card Readers Versus SDHC Cards?

Jun 15, 2012

I just ordered the new 64GB iPad with Verizon 4G LTE and camera connection kit and see some are having problems with USB errors with some card readers that are drawing too much power . It seems most of the problems I see involve SDXC cards and using CF card readers with the USB connection that should not be a problem for me since I only use SDHC cards and a Sandisk SDHC card reader. I do have a Pretec USB 3.0 card reader that I use with my fast 90mb/s UHS-1 SDHC cards but I could use the slower Sandisk USB 2.0 reader instead if the iPad has a problem with it. So how is the new iPad with SDHC cards up to 32GB ?

Request For USB - CF Card Reader

May 7, 2010

As a serious photographer, I would like to see USB ports added to the iPad. The size is perfect for traveling; I'd love to replace the laptop with an iPad. My camera uses Compact Flash cards, so at the least, if adding USB ports is not part of the plan, having a CF card reader for the iPad will be essential for some of us.y ideal: a way to charge AND download images at the same time. Some days I take quite a few images.

Why No SD Card Reader On IPad 3

Feb 10, 2012

iPad 3 case photos do not suggest an SD or even mini-SD slot present. Why not? Sure iOS does not have a Finder, but a few Apps do have file management abilities. Piracy concern my Media industry? Copying songs from iPad to transfer to some other device? Or simply complicates iOS and the iPad? Sure one can get the "Camera Connection Kit", but that seams to simply complicate the issue more then if built in.

Use CF Card Reader With IPad 2?

SD Card Reader - 16GB Or The 32GB

Apr 5, 2010

So, just wonder, because it is advertised that this device can be used to "import photos and videos" from a digital camera. Well, I was wondering how that works?? (And why specifically from a camera?) Couldn't I just store some quick time movies on there and then use those? Also, I was wondering if it allows you to transfer only or can you stream the media right off of the SD card? Just wondering because this is one of my make-or-break questions for me getting the 16GB or the 32GB.

4.2 And Card Reader - Cammera Conection Kit

Dec 7, 2010

I read that 4.2 reduces the power output for the camera connector kit. Will a card reader still work after the update? I usually use an SD card but I do have some compact flash cards that will only work with a card reader. I don't want to update right now if the reader won't work so I really don't want to try and find out it will not work.

Non Apple SD Card Reader Not Working In IOS 4.2.1

Nov 26, 2010

I got a cheap non-Apple SD card reader with a dock connector that was compatible with my iPad as an alternative to the official (expensive) Apple camera connection kit on Amazon and it worked fine with iOS3.x. I tried it today for the first time in iOS 4.2.1 and I could not get it to work. It said "this devices requires too much power" just for a simple little SD card from my dSLR camera connected directly through the dock connector via the card reader I bought.Has Apple disabled support for 3rd party SD card readers / camera connection kits? I've read about people having trouble reading CF cards and flash drives via the USB port in the official camera kit in 4.2.1 but I am having trouble reading an SD card directly.I've got one day left to return this to Amazon so any advice would be appreciated. Should I return it now for a refund and save up to get the Apple kit or is this something that can be fixed?

And Canon 7D And USB Card Reader Compatibility

Jun 4, 2010

I have a 7D on order, I read on a review from DPreview that the 7D isn't setup as a direct transfer USB protocol like most cameras are. It says that it needs to install a file onto the computer to transfer files directly through the USB cable??? Has anyone used a direct USB to CCK on the iPad? Does it work? Also does anyone have a link to a list of know compatible CF card readers that the iPad will accept. I have two multi-card readers and both require too much power. My 7D is on order, my current T1i transfers just fine through USB and of course since it uses SD cards I can also use that part of the CCK, it seems weird that the 7D wouldn't be able to do this but who know

2 In 1 Camera Connection Kit - Card Reader

Jul 22, 2010

I was looking for a camera connection kit for iPad. Since it's not yet available in the Netherlands (will be tomorrow, though), I tried to search on eBay. This is what I found, it's another gadget from China, what's intersting is that it combines the usb and card reader. But I can't find any review on it so I'm very hesitate in buying one. Also the price is high at 39 GBP. Anybody got it yet?"Newest designing for iPad2 in 1 camera connection kit+card reader for iPad With the iPad Camera Connection Kit, it's incredibly easy to download photos from your digital camera to your iPad so you can view them on the gorgeous iPad display and share them with family and friends.
