Cannot See Inbox - Incoming Messages Do Not Appear ?
Jul 12, 2010
I am traveling with my iPad (and without my Mac ); I sent an email, then opened the Sent folder to see if it went out. Now I cannot get my inbox opened. When I open mail, the column is labeled "send". I have tried highlighting the inbox, but my incoming messages do not appear. I still see the list of sent messages. What can I do?
Hopefully my title was not too confusing but heres my problem. I used the the microsoft exchange option to load my gmail account on my ipad like i did with my iphone so i can get the push notification. I have the settings set to no limit for the "mails day to sync" option. And the only folder i have set to push is my inbox. As for general mail settings i have it set to last 50 messages. Is there any reason why my old messages on my inbox are not showing up in my inbox? Of course the new messages i read and get on there show up and stay on there even after i read them but anything prior to that is not showing up.
After updating my ipad2 to iOS 5.1.1 I cannot view messages from the mail icon. It shows 25 new messages, so I know it's receiving the messages but when the app opens there are no new or old messages in the inbox, and the only enabled function is to compose new mail.
On 2 occasions, I have somehow deleted all messages in my inbox from my iPad. Once that happens, they do not seem to go to trash or my deleted folder. I cannot locate them on my iMac either. I have tried settings to make sure it asks before deleting, but that does not work. Can anyone suggest
Anyone know of an easy way to delete a lot of messages from your inbox easily. The edit option is too cumbersome for deleting a lot of emails - like over 150. Also anyone know how to mark email as junk? That's the reason I have so much stuff to delete. If not, Apple needs to update their mail app to allow you to mark mail as junk and to delete your entire inbox if desired.
A staff person was preparing to travel and prior to switching the Ipad to airplane mode, the staffer composed a message and saved it . Then the staffer clicked the edit button, selected a few messages to delete. Once the staffer landed, the staff person turned on the wireless and sent the saved message and then reviewed the selected deleted messages and deleted them. The staff person noticed that it was taking an extremely long time to complete the process. Once the process was completed, the ipad somehow managed to deleted all the messages in the inbox instead of the selected messages. Is there a process that triggers a mass delete?
Email Inbox - Received Messages Disappear When Opened
Jul 6, 2011
I am able to send and receive emails on my new IPad with a yahoo account. The problem is that the received mail messages just disappear as soon as I open them. They don't go into trash. The sent ones stay in the sent box. How to keep my received messages?
Won't Work With Gmail / Delete Messages From Inbox Go To Trash Rather Than Archive
Jun 3, 2010
Set up gmail imap account and started to notice that deleted messages from the inbox move to trash rather than archive. Furthermore I tried to change the settings in the advanced section of the mail account on the iPad and selected the all mail folder for the "deleted messages" field. BUT the iPad does not save the setting. Tried several times

IPad 3 Mail Always Defaults To ICloud Inbox Instead Of Unified Inbox?
Jun 10, 2012
Fairly new to my iPad 3, but a long-time iOS user with an iPhone 4S. I have an iCloud email account along with my work Exchange account. iClous is the defaul email account. For some reason, any time I restart the iPad, Mail opens only in my iCloud inbox, and not in my unified inbox. Can't find any setting relating to this action. My iPhone 4S consistently opens in the unified inbox, with the exact same email accounts running the same 5.1.1 system with the same settings. A small bug, but kind of driving me nuts anyway. Am I missing a setting somewhere to fix this issue?
Email works fine at home but when I get to work it won't allow me to connect. Strangely, I can send outgoing mail? Anyone know a fix for this or is works server too strict?
I'm not sure, but I believe the iPad's wifi turns off after sleeping for a while If that's the case, then that kind of sucks for VOIP apps, because I won't be able to get incoming calls unless I keep my iPad screen on at all times. Can anyone confirm this?It may be something just with my Mifi, but I'm not sure.If this is the case, then even though Skype can run in the backround with OS 4.0 it won't be a huge help, because if I have my ipad screen off or iTouch in my pocket, then wifi is off and I'm not going to get my call anyways.
I've changed my yahoo password. And then i did the same thing on my mail setting. But why i can not receive my new email now? I still can receive new yahoo mail if i open my yahoo from safari, but can not from my mail app in my ipad or iphone
When I send my wife an iMessage to her cell phone number, logically it goes to her iPhone, but it doesn't show up on her iPad. When I reply to an iMessage sent from her iPad it goes to both her iPhone and iPad. How can I send her an iMessage to her iPad from my iPhone to start a conversation when I know she isn't near her phone? I don't understand why messages only go to her iPad if she starts a conversation on her iPad first.
Certain incoming emails on my Ipad are not legible. The letters are garbled and make no sense. However, when I reply, I can then read the body of the email. How do I fix this so that I can read the body of the incoming email without going to "reply"?
