With "acceptance" pages prior to allowing access? The wifi works fine everywhere else however anytime there is acceptance page it will not jump to the browser to allow me to hit yes???

My new ipad can't connect to wifi, but even after i reset the network settings and tried everything (reboot, renew lease) but still cant access the internet. But my laptop and even my phone can connect and access the internet.

Considering purchasing an iPad....I have one issue though. I work offshore and the wi-fi connection here requires you to login and then leave the login page (or tab) open in order to use the service.Is there any way to do this on the iPad? I currently have an iPhone and can't figure out how to get it to keep the connection.

You know, when we need to connect to some public wifi, oftentimes, it might require us to login with some credentials. This is the problem I encounter. Wonder if anyone has similar issues and some possible ways to address it. Thanks in advance!
After selecting the SSID from the list of wifi spots; a Safari page will appear, requiring you to login with some credentials. Sometimes this takes a while, sometimes it is faster.
During my recent vacation, I am able to key in the username/password, but when I click on "connect"; nothing happens. Even when I waited for, like, 20 minutes to see if anything comes up; nothing.
Hence, I thought it might be an issue with the hotel's free wifi (note that at this point in time, both my iP4 and iP3GS had no issues logging on in the same way).
Just today, I tried logging into the free wifi at our community library. Again, after selecting the SSID, keying in the username/password and clicking on "connect" - nothing happens! Again, both iPhones are able to log on in the similar fashion. But iPad - nothing.
Any idea what might be the cause? I can logon to my home wifi (thank GOD!). But from time-to-time, I face the issue of the iPad telling me, "Unable to join SSID".
Is it likely a hardware issue?

I'm in a public location trying to connect to am open wifi. My iPad just sits with a 'connecting' icon on the page and finally stops without making connection.
I'm supposed to be brought to a login page where I accept the agreement to access the net. I never get that far. I can't get it to do anything.
However, I'm sending this using my iPhone which went through the setup progress just fine. I opened Safari, accepted the conditions and now I'm surfing via wifi.

I support an enterprise wireless network. I utilize 98 Cisco 1242AG LAP's across my campuses, all controlled by 3 Cisco WLAN controllers governed by Cisco WCS. If I just shot over your head, I manage and make a change in WCS, and it flows out to all access points.I push out multiple SSID's over the AP's, one being "public" which is VLAN's off and goes out a dedicated ISP connection. Every device I have touched can connect to public, except iPad's. I have touched an iPad once, for about 2 minutes, outside of work, but that's it. I'm getting reports about users who from here or there can't get to their webmail. My setup is not blocking anything, I have dense wireless coverage, why can't iPad's connect? I'm supporting A/G but not B or N.The entire Apple thing is new to me, I've never had to support it, so I'm breaking new ground in personal development.
View 6 RepliesWe have a public access WiFi where I work. My original iPad sometimes takes several minutes to connect to the WiFi. My co-workers New iPad connects almost instantly. My iPhone 4S also connects very quickly.
It seems to have nothing to do with the traffic on the public network.
My iPad 1 connects very quickly to my home Wifi network.

I just got off the phone with Apple support and they tell me that the Ipad doesn't work very well with WEP due to some technical issue. For home use that's fine i can change my router to WPA but anywhere else it's usually WEP, such as motels and WiFi public locations.
So if you think you are going to use your Ipad anywhere else than home, watch out, and be ready for trouble.The support guy says that Apple is aware of this situation and is probably working on it now.It's a shame, isn't that what the Ipad is all about? Someone tell me to take it back and get a new one and see if it works?

I have a 32G iPAD. It can connect public WIFI network but it cant browse any website. However, my friend can browse website with HP notebook via the same network. I have reset the network setting and restart my ipad, but the problem still exist.

i used my ipad in my university e-lab to connect using wifi, after trying to join the network using my credential i got that screen. it says about cit-ias-ml1 Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority-G2 with a red mark not verified and with the option to accept it and view more details. i tried to select accept and the screen will just come off thingking i'm already connected but the internet does not work at all. i did tried reset the network settings but it is still the same thing. i can connect wifi somewhere else without issues. i hope somebody can share some inputs. I was sitting in the Atlanta airport today and enabled the wifi on my iPad. It recognized something called free public wifi. Touched the screen to enable that, got a check mark and the wifi icon, top left of screen, came on showing the full three bars. However, when I tried to access a web site I got a pop up indicating it could not connect. Regardless of the site, NY Times, Apple, MSNBC, the connection could not be made.
My question is why would the wifi icon come on and the iPad not be able to to make an internet connection?

So quick generic question on internet tethering for the iPad.
If I get Internet tethering on my iPhone through AT&T my iPad could potentially connect through the Internet via my iPhone correct?
Will I ever get IPAD to work? I have been unable to hook up to internet. I bought a new WiFi adapter and it does list it as hooked up on the IPAD. I was going to return it but I really want to get it to work.

I recently bought an Ipad which seems to be working fine, except one thing; I am not able to connect to the internet. It's picked up my internet as the bars are at the top corner (three blue bars of signal). However when i open the Safari it is saying i am not connected to the internet, or something similar to that. What i don't understand here is, It's all connected through my Broadband as It's ticked on the Wi Fi setting. So what's the issue here? I don't want to take it back unless It's the last option, and as for the screen brightness which has some relevance? It's right up! The only thing that isn't set on my Ipad is the VPN, but are these mandatory?
