I sync mp4 files from my iMac to my iPad. The progress bar shows the movie file synching and completes. When I go to my iPod icon on my iPad, there is no 'movies' category. I cannot find the MP4 files.
I have synced my new iPad to computer, but when I look at iTunes on the iPad all I seem to get is the Apple store with things to buy - when I attach iPad to computer (AppleMac with up to date system) I can see the music library on the iPad but all the tracks are 'greyed out' - what am I do wrong . . .I also downloaded a film which is synced to iPad, also greyed out.
I am new to iPad, but have used iTunes for years on my PC. I synched several albums from my PC to my new iPad, but I can't find my music library on the iPad. when I open iTunes, my only options are to buy music at the iTunes store. How do I find the music I downloaded from my PC, and how do I play it?
I have synced some photo folders using iTunes to my iPad, but I can't find them on it? In iTunes it clearly shows on the bar along the bottom that I have a few gigs of photos on the device. Where have they gone?
I just got a new laptop and can now back up my iPad 2. I connected them both and everything synced successfully. Since then, I deleted a very important page from my "Notes". How do I review my backup/ synced files?
I just completed a sync with my iPad and iMac. During the sync process some apps were removed from the iPad. After I noticed, I replaced the apps on the iPad with another sync. Now the files I had created with those apps are gone. Where can I find them? During the sync process, the computer display says its syncing/backing up. Am I wrong in thinking that this means the files are actually backed up somewhere? If that's the case, how do I back up the iPad files I create?
I want to put lots of .pdf files on an iPad to take on a plane. I want to be able to delete the PDF files after reading them, and have those PDF files removed from whichever location that I initially synched them over from.
I can't use dropbox because I will not have an internet connection on the plane.
1. Where should I store these PDF on the iPad? 2. What service will I use to remove them after synching?
I used to be able to go into my home directory, in Music/iTunes I think, and find all the files that were backed up from my iPad. Just recently however I no longer see them. where backed up files are now being stored?
I have Sony Handycam (AVCHD), with the "Foxreal iPad 2 Video Converter" I import the MTS files and select the "iPad 2" output format, and it can played fine on my iPad 2, but the iMovie can't find that files, iMovie on my iPad2 (I don't have Mac)
Here's what I have done so far with my new iPad 2. I have an iTunes account and I have used my Mac Mini to send all the e-books, audio books, TV series, music and movies to "Library" in iTunes. The files have successfully crossed over to the dark side and I can open them using my computer. I then open up my iPad 2 and try to find the files that I sent to iTunes and they are hiding from me.
I am using a DJing app called DJ Mixer Pro, and every time I record my mix it automatically saves it in the ipad but you can't see it. I want to find the files because I want to delete some of them. How can I find them?
I bought the Ipad, cause some how I wanted to use it as a Laptop (I know that right now it is just like a huge Iphone) and I was wondering if somebody knows if there is an application that lets you use Windows Office files (not just to read them but to create and use excel, windows, power point...), otherwise I do not see the point on keeping my Ipad 3G.
You know how you can add files to the iPad via iTunes? For example, you can store them in GoodReader. Also, you can use this method to get files off the iPad, like from Pages. Well, how do you actually delete these files from the iPad? In iTunes I can only find the option to add new files, or to save the files from the iPad to the computer. Doing so doesn't delete the original still on the iPad.
How do I get rid of them?
EDIT: Just figured it out, seconds after posting! Select the file, then click backspace. Seems odd that there isn't a delete button or a menu when right-clicking. Not very intuitive.
I have had problem with calendar syncing to the wrong day (another thread) I rang Apple support who suggested a restore, followed by setting up as a new iPad. Is there any way to get my stash of good reader files which used to appear under file sharing, they seem to have not transfered back across with the app.
PS my calendar Syncing is still bringing all day appointments over a day early!
I Have got an iPad mini and I don't find any options for attaching files in compose mail section..can I attach files available in notes, reminders, videos, photos through mail option available in iPad..???
I cannot find a way to view bookmarks I've made in PDF files using Ibooks. In books, I figured out by going to the contents page, they are listed there but where do I find them when reading pdf ( magazine files )?
The bookmark tab turns red when I try to bookmark but I can't find where they are.
If I walk away from the router (Apple Airport Extreme) with the iPod, the signal strength gradually goes from max (3 "bars") to min (just a dot) in about 75 ft.
If I walk back towards the router, the signal strength indicator gradually comes back up to 3 bars.
With the iPad, if I do the same thing, the signal goes from max to min suddenly, not gradually, and it does that at less than half the distance of the iPod. After just a short while at min, it then drops the Wifi signal entirely.
Also, with the iPad, with the signal strength indicator at min, if I walk back towards the router, it never comes back up to max, but stays at min.
The router doesn't need new firmware. I also played with the display brightness setting (as suggested by Apple), but of course (is it April 1st???), that didn't make any difference.

New iPad user here (wonderful device). I haven't been able to yet find how large the book files are. I can see the file size on every other app before downloading but not the books. I'm on a pretty small daily download limit and need to know approximately how many books I can download.
Handbrake has worked great for ripping my DVDs, but what program can I use to rip my Blu-rays? Also, how much space would these files take up? Would I need a Blu-ray reader for this too? And when I sync these files to my iPad, would they look that much better than the DVD version?
Someone broke into my house and stole my iPad andáI can't find it yet with the find my iPhone app but I'll like to make a suggestion that in iOS 6 they add a feature that when you click the email me when found button it sends a picture of the person to your email also. á
Yesterday I connected my mums ipad to my laptop in order to copy over some video files on to the vlc app.It worked great. However today when I connected my own ipad I get the message "An iPad has been previously synced with this computer" and 2 options either set up as a new ipad or restore from a backup from a few weeks ago.Neither of these options are good, as I have data from the past 2 weeks I don't want to lose.
I had my iphone first. now i have the pad. When I sync the pad, the iphone apps go on the pad. is this suppose to happen? if then I sync my phone will the pad apps go on the phone also? have not synced the phone since seeing this new issue.
I was running most of my stuff off of an external hard drive, including iTunes and all of it's fluff. My computer was a Windows XP PC running iTunes 10, the only other computer in the house is an old Mac that's on OS X 10.4, so it can't run anything above iTunes 9. It will probably be a while before I can get my own computer fixed/replaced, so I would like to sync to my sister's comp in the meantime. I've plugged the drive into the Mac, and it does seem to see it (and the Library stored on it), but I don't know how to open up that Library. The "shift start" that usually allows you to select the Library file you just transfered over doesn't do anything. I'm not sure if it's because Macs use something other than Shift (all the last times I did it successfully I was on a PC), or if it's some sort of incompatibility between iTunes 9 and 10.
I just purchased my 64GB 3G WiFi iPad2, did a clean install, painstakingly got all my apps back in their folders where I had them with my iPad1, and when I went to upload my pictures to my iPad2 I get the message of
"iPad2 cannot be synced. The required file cannot be found."
This error occurs every time I try to sync my photos to my iPad 2. I searched on the web for a solution, found one possible solution by deleting my "iPod iPhoto Cache" from my Pictures folder (not the Library folder) and I cannot get my pictures on my iPad no matter what I try. I get that error message over and over and over again.
