Hope someone can help me with this. I'm having a strange issue with my ipad and itunes, when I try to update an app I keep getting a "Cannot connect to itunes store" notice, but I have no problem downloading new apps or browsing the app store.It's as if I'm being blocked from the update section of the itunes store. I have a wifi only ipad so I'm updating over my wifi network. The other thing is that my iphone can update apps with no issue over the wifi network, it's just the ipad that can't.
I cannot connect to itune or update any apps since 3 weeks, I did all what could be the reason without success. I connected my I pad to itune and did the restore but no use. I made restore to all setting without success. I changed the apple ID w/o success.
Today I installed the 3.2.2 iPad update and it caused my iPad to enter a state where the iTunes software could not connect because it was saying the iPad was locked. Meanwhile the ipad was showing the connect to iTunes error.I thought I corrected this issue by restoring the backup. Now my iPad is saying that it has No Wifi. the selection on the setting application is unavailable.
I have the original iPad. After updating with the latest iOS, I can't connect to iTunes. I can access iTunes, but when trying to purchase or update apps, I see the "waiting" icon, but eventually get a "can't connect to iTunes - please check network settings" message. I can connect to the internet, and my iPhone connects to iTunes with no problem. I've tried restoring from backup but this didn't solve the problem.
I watched the boards for a few days to see what, if any, glitches would appear with the iOS 5.1.1 firmware update. It looked like it was not going to be a problem so I decided to take the plunge and update my iPad 2 (32 GB, WiFi/3G). I shut down all the app running in the background, did a restart to make sure nothing was still running that might cause a glitch. Plugged it into the wall charger and started the process using the OTA download since it was way smaller. It seemed to be going fine, but suddently the screen displayed the USB plug and iTunes logo and stopped the update.
Do I have to plug my iPad into iTunes to finish the update? Or Can I restart my iPad and go again? I am at work and don't have access to iTunes here so if I have to plug in to my computer at home I guess it will have to wait until I can get there.
I just read that thread about the recent updates. I have no issues with my iPad. It is fast and cool.Do we have to up date? It is going to update eventually anyways when I connect to iTunes, right?Do things typically update smoothly?
I'm having a really weird problem. I have no problems BUYING new apps from the App Store on the iPad,however, when I am trying to UPDATE apps, I get a message that the iPad is unable to connect to iTunes Store.
I've updated all of my apps in the App Updates window, synced both my iPhone and my iPad several times in the last few days, but iTunes is still showing a little 2 next to the "Apps" header indicating there are still 2 more out there that need to be updated.
Since installing the new iTunes update, I have not received any notifications of updates for Apps for my iPad. I continually check for updates in both the iPad Applications icon and the iTunes store on my Macbook. Each time the only line I get is there are NO updates available for all the Apps on my iPad. Usually, when I check these places, there are at least one a day. It's now been over a week, and I have yet to get any updates. I wonder if this is another bug in the latest iTunes update? I have just a handful of applications that when I try to update the the app store app prompts me for a password to my other account which the apps were not purchased on. All the apps were validly purchased on the first account, but now the apps are associated with my second itunes account and I can't update them. I've gone into the app store app and set the account to my first account but that does nothing for the update, it keeps prompting me for my password for my second account. I need it to switch back to the first account for these few apps. What's odd is that every other app updates just fine and are associated with the correct account, except for just these few.
I can see there are 2 updates for my apps.I went to do the updates via 3G and it won't let me due to the size of the files it tells me to connect to a PC or do it via WI FI.I connected the iPad to my windows PC and it syncs with iTunes fine and I can see all the apps but it's not downloading the 2 updates for the apps. how I update apps via a windows PC running iTunes ?
I am using an iPad2 with 5.0, iPhone3Gs with 5.0 and laptop uses Windows 7, iTunes 10.5. Recently I have had no problems updating my apps, but now on my iPad and iPhone, I get the message that I cannot connect to the iTunes store to update my current apps. I can install new apps. I have done everything I could find on the forums and nothing is working.
