Can't Sync IPad Without Erasing?

Jan 22, 2011

My hard drive failed a few weeks back. Since I had it replaced I had been working when I had time getting everything off my external back onto the computer and getting it up and running again. Today was the first day I tried syncing my iPad since the crash. It says it can't be synced because it's synced to another iTunes library, but it's the same account. I also had to authorize the computer as if it was a different computer. How do I get my iTunes to think it's the same account as before and not lose all my notes, contacts, bookmarks, and so on? I really don't want to have to start all that stuff over again.

Have Books Sync Without Erasing Music?

Aug 7, 2011

I had my iPad 2 set to sync eBooks automatically, and just found (when I added a new book) today that it's no longer set to that. No problem, I can drag-and-drop to sync manually, but it's one step more than I'd like to do - it would be great to just have any new eBooks automatically transfer to my iPad. The problem is that when I check the "Sync Books" box, iTunes warns me:"Are you sure you want to sync books? All existing songs, movies and TV shows on the iPad... will be removed."As it turns out, this warning rings true - I went to sync my eBooks to my iPhone the other day and all my music was deleted! Leaving aside the question of why syncing books should delete my music, I'm wondering if there's any way to manually manage my music while keeping books and other things on automatic sync.

IPad :: Erasing / Reformatting Still Does Not Remove (Other)

Sep 13, 2014

I've deleted every single thing Apple will let you delete off your ipad, I've repeatedly reformatted it and still as soon as I open it, it says there is 400+ mb being used by this god forsaken "other."

Is my ipad just broken or is this a universal problem or am I not properly erasing/reformatting it some how?

IPad Air :: Securely Erasing All Data And Account From Device?

Jan 12, 2014

it is only 7 days that I am in the Apple world and I am so impressed of the quality of it that I would like to upgrade my basic Ipad Air to a better model with cellular and more storage! Like I said before, I never used an Apple device before so I would like to sell my current 16GB wifi Ipad air(a week old) to my sister in law and upgrade to a cellular+wi-fi one with bigger storage. My question is, how do I securely delete all my data, account etc etc... and transfer my currents apps to my new Air (that I haven't got yet)? After deleting everything, would my sister in law be able to start from scratch my Air in the same way that I did when my Air was brand new(following the assisted tutorial on inserting details and creating apple Id etc etc...Second, is my sister in law still entitled of the free apps, like notes and numbers, when she sign up for an apple id on my Ipad air?

Erasing All The Settings?

Sep 4, 2010

I wanted to erase all the settings that I had in iPad. I entered General->Reset->Erase all content and settings.

After that the silver line appeared and it finished, and then the Apple logo appeared and it never disappears again.

I connected the iPad to iTunes and there's no use, also I tried to shut it down by the sleep button "pressing until saying Slide to power off" and it doesn't work.

Erasing And Removing All Settings

Sep 10, 2010

Recently I purchased a iPad off craigslist and on receiving my iPad I wanted to erase out all of the data and start from the beginning.. In doing so I consulted the online instructions and my question is how long should this take? It has been 24 hours and the iPad only shows the apply sign. I cannot turn it on or off and if I reset it, it just shows the same apple sign.. If anyone knows what I can do please let me know.. It's a 64g wifi. I'm just worried I killed it.. Not really, but I just wanted to know if anyone could help me.

Erasing Imported Pictures From Camera On It?

Jun 6, 2012

I am trying to erase pictures on my iPad, which now is full of photos. And no success. One common way is to erase the photos on my computer, and then sync. Apart from being a awkward procedure (why make it impossible to erase pictures on the iPad directly?), the photos are not synced, they are imported from the cameras card directly into the iPad. No computer involved. Another way is to reset the iPad completely. Not an alternative, if I can avoid it. Do I really have to reset the device, thus erasing everything, just to get rid of the imported pictures?
