When I forward mail which has an attachment to my iPad email address, sometimes the attachment is there, but most times the mail arrives without the attachment, and there is a single line code in the area where the attachment should be.
View 3 RepliesI've been sending myself word docs from Windows Outlook desktop email so I can work on documents on my IPAD while away from home. Worked fine until yesterday, and now my word2003 attached docs on Ipad email are showing up as unopenable winmail.dat files. I've done nothing different, so am not sure what is happening. Other people's emails with Word docx files are opening fine as are pdfs
View 2 RepliesThe recipient is not receiving them. If I send the PDF file from ReaddleDocs, they receive it.

I have the exchange email setup and it works when I am onsite using the company server, but I can only receive email. I create and send email and nothing happens. I have the account setup just like my outlook on my desktop machine. Like I said within the company network. I get my email and calendar, but can't send email.
The other issue is I can't setup email for outside of the network. We have blackberry service (not an enterprise server) and I use the same: [URL] and I get the error that it can't identify the account. I really need to be able to get my email and calendar on my ipad2. My blackberry works great, just confused and I might be switching an iPhone soon for work.
I can't send email on my ipad - message says my request is being rejected by the server. I am able to receive email though.

For those trying to "do real work" on their ipads, there is an iPhone app worth looking at. Docs 2 Go premium. Yes, I know it's an iPhone app, but dataviz never got the memo claiming that all ithings are toys. I tried it and it opens ms office format docs as well as google docs. Once they make an iPad version I'll be all over it. I was able to pull word doc attachments from my email and I could have saved it to google docs if I wanted to. The only price is 15 bucks for the app plus staring at it in 1x or 2x.
View 10 RepliesWhen I get a PDF attachment to an email, the attachment gets a generic "win mail.dat" name and will not open.
View 2 RepliesI click on the Mail icon, having previously set up my AOL account in the Mail settings.I used to be able to get mail just fine. Now, all of a sudden, when I click on the Inbox, I get this message: "Cannot Get Mail. The user name or password for "Personal Email Account" is incorrect." It ISN'T incorrect. It is correct.I have gone back, into Mail Settings and made sure that the user name and password are both correct. Still, I continue to get this infuriating message. In the meantime, of course, I can't get any email. Now - if I go into Safari/AOL, I can receive and send email to my heart's content.

I am trying to figure out how to send pictures as attachments in mail for the iPad. It does not seem that there are any Ways to do this. Do you have to send one picture at a time?
View 6 RepliesI can read them, but don't see a way to send a PDF attachment in email. I have Goodreader, too; but don't see anything there.
View 5 Replieshad several different format email attachments (XLS, DOC, PDF) and when I leave them open, or read them in another app I am unable to close the attachment in mail and access the inbox as the Done button will not appear.
I've tried what works in (Goodreader) touching the center of the screen, but the only resolution seems to be restarted the iPad. Not a good solution!

I get an email on my iPad and I would like to reply with a attachment but I do not see a option for it unless Im not seeing it so the only way I could see is copy and re past the email addy and create a new email with the attachment.
Is there a way I can open attached documents from email messages so I can view/edit them in Pages? It is kind of useless to receive email attachments but not even be able to see them.

View 6 RepliesI'm desperate for an answer. On several occasions, my iPad wifi does not receive .doc attachments to emails. Today both my mobile me and gmail accounts identified a .doc attachment of 119kb to an email received on my iPad as a mime file with 0 bytes. The attachment is not corrupt. When I got home, it is in my iMail account on my iMac and I can open it. In other words, the attachment is NOT corrupt. I have no other problems with mail on my iPad and this one doesn't arise ALL the time. But, if I can't rely on the iPad to receive email, or figure out how to solve this problem, I'm returning it or selling it on eBay as it totally worthless to me. Mac OS X (10.6.3)
