Whenever I sync books from my MacBook pro to either my iPad or iPhone 4 the books do not show up in iBooks and iTunes says that they are there. I have tried everything and the only thing that seems to work is installing a new book from the book store, but I currently don't have wifi so I can't on my wifi only iPad.
When will the selection of books on iBooks get better? There are many titles that just are not available, but are if I choose to use another reader. I am not talking about obscure books. I enjoy reading from the iBook application, but it doesn't matter if the books are not available.
I had downloaded about a dozen of books from the free iBooks catalog but today they are all gone. That includes the Winnie the Pooh and iPad user guide. Does anyone know why this happened. I hesitate to use iBooks now until I find out if they are going to disappear on a regular basis.
Is it possible for an author to publish a book via ibooks, Apple book store, and then publish updates to that book say when new information is available or when errors are corrected? The purchaser should not have to pay for such updates of course.
I am interested in publishing a book and a couple of my friends too? Could anyone point me in the right direction? I am hoping it's similar to registering with apple writing an application and submitting to the application store.
I keep getting "Failed to load book because requested resource is missing." I am running 4.2 beta 3. Out of 6 books, only 1 will open. I found a couple discussions elsewhere, but I cant seem to get these other books to open. I just redownloaded the books themselves and iBooks. I did not do a restore of the iPad, I'd like to avoid doing that if I can.
I have an iPad 2 and my OS software is up todate. I can no longer save PDFs or Books from iTunes Store to iBooks. When I try to save a book from the store, I get a message that says that I must have iBooks installed. iBooks is installed on my iPad. I have tons of books and PDFs and I can opener my PDFs and books in iBooks without any problems.
Also, iBooks does not show up in the "Save To" drop down menu in my email. Is anyone else having this problem. If so, is there a solution? The problem just started 2 days ago.
I have done some research and haven't been able to find a way to do this so far but i would love to be able to have all my books in one place and i prefer the design of the ibooks applications. Is it possible to somehow move books from the kindle application to ibooks application?
I bought a new Macbook Pro because my old one crashed. I had my documents backed up on another drive but not with Time Machine and my iPad was backed up also but on my Mac. I was able to use some software to get my music back but I can't figure out how to get my books back out of ibook. Have anyone ever have this problem? From what I see there is nothing to help you get your iPad back into itunes and syncing properly if your computer crashes, I know I should have been using time machine but even if I had what if the disk drive became corrupt? I know there is a slim chance that it will ever happen but I am one of those people where what ever can go wrong...
I bought a book from the iBook store on the 1st day I had my iPad and when it downloaded it was only 23 pages long and each page was a different chapter. The book is supposed to be 250+ pages. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? I have already deleted and re-downloaded the book.
Things do not look good for ibooks. They have the same number of books they had in the beginning, and half of them are Guttenburg project titles. Amazon has a much better selection vailable. If Apple doesn't find publishers soon, the whole app may hit the dirt.
I have about 25 books and PDF's in my iTunes library which are sorted alphabetically in iTunes. However when I sync these books to iBooks on my iPad they appear in random alphabetical order on the iBooks bookshelf. Is there any way of getting iTunes to sync the books/pdf's in alphabetical order when syncing?
Information: Powerbook G4 17" 1.33GHz Mac OS X (10.5.8)
I purchased the Ipad yesterday and it was going great until I went to add the Kobo app to download my already purchased books. The app itself downloads fine, I sign into my Kobo account and...none of my books show up.
Am I doing something wrong? I have search all over google for someone having the same problem and I cannot seam to find a solution. I have tried converting my books to epub and loading them into ibook, they show up there but they cannot open due to the type of format.
I used to convert my pdf to epub and sync all my book to iBook without problem. But I guess everyone knwos that some of the book is not readable after the convertion. So I heard that the latest iTunes supports sync-ing PDF directly to iBook. I can successfully add my PDF file to iTunes, but after several sync, I still cannot see my PDF file on my iPad...
When I brought my shiny new iPad home on Saturday, I plugged it into my iBook's USB port and was disappointed (but not shocked) to get a popup in iTunes 9.1 telling me that I couldn't sync the iPad since it required OSX 10.5.8 (I had 10.4.11 installed). In order to get my hands into the iPad, I decided to register/sync it on my work PC (a 10 minute bike ride away).
No problems; been using my iPad fine ever since. However, I'd still like to be able to sync it at home, so that I can add some media content to it.
So last night I installed 10.5 and also updated my iBook to 10.5.8 (along with all other system updates available through "system update").
Even with 10.5.8 installed, the iPad will still not sync on my home iBook. When I plug it in, the iPad beeps but indicates that it isn't charging, and the iBook loads iPhoto and attempts to sync the iPad as a camera (I have a handful of wallpapers I DLed on the iPad).
Things I have tried:verified that there are no iTunes updates available turned off "automatically open iPhoto when camera is connected" in the iPhoto general preferences manual restart of iPad (holding power and home buttons for a couple of seconds) Re-authorized the iBook for my iTunes account. Using my other USB port.
So the issue is that even though my computer/iTunes recognized that I'd connected an iPad when I first tried it out of the box (under 10.4.11 and iTunes 9.1), now that I've updated to 10.5.8, I can't get iTunes to recognize that the iPad has been connected at all.
I also don't understand the lack of charging; apparently the iPad thinks I don't have a USB 2.0 port (even though when I bought the iBook G4, it claimed to have USB 2.0 -- and according to the specs, it should: http://support.apple.com/kb/SP81).
So I have the free Winnie the Pooh Book and downloaded a few samples however they are not transferring / appearing in iBooks under iTunes?? Any reasons why?????? Is it because they are free / samples? All my apps purchased on the iPad have synced across to my iTunes library
Would like to know if anyone else has noticed this little foible.Set books to Syc/All Books and don't check manually manage music and videos. Books will sync but sometimes (and can't figure out what causes the change) the selection changes from all books to selected booksOddity number 2. Check manually manage music and videos. Sync then manually drag/drop an album to the iPad. Go to the Books tab and the check box is removed from Sync.Seems you can't manually manage music and have it auto sync books.
Recently got an iPad for my birthday very first day i am at my girlfriends house and we start it up she buys me an iBook on her account when i went home to sync the ipad to my iTunes library it erased the book anybody know of a way go get it back without having to buy it all over again?
Purchased an audio book on itunes.Ipad crashed and restored to factory settings. Didn't have ipad backed up to computer or icloud.Purchased new laptop cannot down load audi book from itune account says information wasnt found.Asks to locate but this starts a search on computer.purchase is displayed in purchase history
In iTunes I can tick manually sync music but cannot simultaneously tick Sync Books. When I do I Get a warning message that says movies and music will be removed.I don't understand how they are related. Why does syncing books disable the ability to manually manage music? Because of this I cannot both sync books and leave just a few albums (and not all of an artists albums) on my ipad. This seems limiting or I'm just not understanding some aspect of this whole syncing thing.
After one time syncing the books I got all the books I wanted and don't want to re-sync every time - (all resync does is to re-copy all the books again to iPad, waste of time) but still keep the books ?
