Some lowlife has stolen my iPad 3G. I have MobileMe and Find my iPad enabled on it but it doesn't seem to be online. I think they may have reformatted before I realised and tried to track/disable it.Because it is the 3G version, am I able to get the IMEI blocked? Will Apple have to do that or will I need to call the 3G wireless carrier?
my new iPad was stolen yesterday before register it. The only information I have is its adress MAC and the bill from store I've bought it. I'd like to know if it is possible to find out its serial number in order I could register it and block it.

My iPad was recently lost/stolen at my university, and I was wondering how I could go about finding the MAC address without physically having the iPad. I know usually having the address wouldn't help in locating it, but since the person who took it must have been one of my classmates, I am hoping there is a chance that I could talk to the university IT department and see if anyone logs into the Wifi with my iPad. I'll just put it out there that I was dumb and didn't install Find my iPhone so that isn't an option unfortunately.
My 5 year old's iPad was stolen and I have reported it to AT&T, Apple and the police where it was blocked, black listed, etc... However, I have recently seen new scores for her apps being posted in the apple Game Center where we were "friends". Can't I track that? Unfortunately, she did not have any locate my iPad or find friends apps - I would like to find the thief of a five year old's game system!
My iPad was stolen last night. Someone smashed my car window and ran off with the iPad. It has several apps that I purchased, such as Pages, Keynote, iAnnotate, and several others. If I obtain a replacement iPad, can I transfer the apps onto the new iPad, or do I need to purchase the apps again? The iPad was backed up on my laptop.
Also, I've taken the following steps. Anything else that I should do?
- Changed all email passwords
- Changed passwords for cloud storage services and social media sites
- Disabled the iPad apps in the settings of those social media and cloud storage sites
- Changed my iTunes password and revoked iCloud access from the iPad
Unfortunately, I don't have any type of app on the iPad that allows me to wipe the device or lock it.
I have purchased iPad from Amazon to gift it to my sister. It worked fine without any problem but when I went to update it to verizon, they said that the product is an stolen product.I want to know how it happened and Does the iPad sold through Amazon are stolen product?
My dad's car was broken into this afternoon in his driveway! He went in the house for 1 hour and came back out to find a thief had taken his iPad 2. I found it using the find my iPhone app and reported it to the police. It looks like it's currently in an apartment complex in a shady part of town. Police won't help. I'm surprised I found it since it's a wifi model and my dad had a pass code lock. I sent a message to the iPad with a few choice words and remote locked it. Now I'm considering what to do next. Wipe it or try and follow it somehow if it moves in the morning.
I was called into work today as we had been burgled. Amounst other things there were two iMac, iPad 2`s and iPods stolen. Now, I had Find My iPad on my devices and location services activated. My iPad was locked and requires my pin number to unlock. I have logged into iCloud to see if my iPad has been located but no joy as yet :-( My question is, if anyone has a good knowledge of how Find My iPad works, does the device have to be actually joind to a wireless network to be tracked or simply being turned on?? Also, if the theives hooked the iPad upto iTunes and wiped it clean, would that render Find my iPad useless?
I got an ipad2 as a gift and fell in love with it as i was exploring all the different options within it. But I then had it stolen. yes the best thing that ever came into my life was ripped away before I could even figure everything out about it. I did have the mobile me software installed on it and yes there was a passcode to lock it out. but i have not had any luck in finging it. I was wondering a couple different things. First, would one have to crack the passcode before the mobile me software could locate it? I had verizon 3g service so could they help me in some way to find it? I also read that people could wipe it clean just by hooking it to itunes? If this is true by someone wiping it could I still track it some how? Or is it one of them things that once it gets wiped it is gone and all hope is lost? I dont know I just want my ipad2 back.
