Battery Icon During Charging Does Not Show The Lightning Bolt?
Jul 12, 2010
I just noticed that even the little battery icon in the top right does not show the 'lightning bolt' while charging. Instead, it displays a power plug. If i unplug and reinsert the charging cable the icon briefly changed back into the lightning bolt but then switches back to the plug. Why is this?
IPad :: Battery Icon With Thin Strip Of Red And Bolt Underneath For About 5 Seconds Then Disappears To Black Screen
Jul 22, 2013
When I plug my ipad into the wall charger or the computer, the battery icon in the center has a thin strip of red and a bolt underneath for about 5 seconds, then disappears to a black screen. Shouldn't there at least be some sort of charging screen? I'm just going to leave it plugged into the wall until hopefully something pops up on the screen. I'm new to ipads.
I have a 332GB, 3G Ipad that I have been using for the past few weeks with no problems. My questions is why don't I see the Green Battery icon displayed when my unit is charging? It flashed on once when I first got it but I haven't seen it since. Is there a setting that needs to be adjusted? I do get the battery icon in the upper right corner of the screen when plugged into a wall outlet and my unit does seem to charge properly.
Connected Via USB - Not Charging Showing Next To Battery Icon?
Jun 17, 2012
I plugged my iPad into my laptop to charge it overnight, but the iPad didn't charge. My laptop recognized it, and my iTunes synced it, but it wouldn't charge. It just said "Not Charging" next to the battery icon. How do I charge my iPad through USB?

Ipad 3 - Displaying "not Charging" And Not The Typical Fully Charged Battery Icon
Apr 2, 2012
My 'new' Ipad is connected to the wall using the included 10W adapter and it is fully charged. But it is displaying "not charging" and not the typical fully charged battery icon. From my understanding, IOS products use a tickle effect when charging "beyond" 100%, where the battery will charge and discharge. Which leads me to my question: My is my Ipad behaving like this?
Safari Unable To Show Large Jpeg/show A Very Small Icon Of A Question Mark?
Sep 5, 2010
Last time I saw someone asks why Safari on iPad doesn't show some 1920x1440 jpeg with real size & I solved that puzzle. You have to use a progressive-encoding jpeg. However, I find another different problem.Say, demo.jpg is a progressive-encoding jpeg with 2000x3000 & I upload it to my website. I then access it via url ...demo.jpg, Safari will show it with 2000x3000 size, perfect.
Now I make a most-simple html file named mypic.html. This html has only img tag with src=demo.jpg or src=demo.jpg width=2000 height=3000 inside body. Now I access it via url ...mypic.html. This time Safari show a very small icon of a question mark?
Charging The Battery - Message - Charging Not Supported With This Accessory
Jul 4, 2012
I am having problems getting the new IPad to charge at all and sometime it displays this message.' charging not supported with this accessory'. This message is appearing occasionally on my 5 week old new iPad (3) within a few minutes of plugging it in.: (It is also not charging after this message appears. I am using the supplied wall socket and cable. I am also having problems getting the iPad to charge at all even if the message does not show. This is frustrating me no end. I expected a reliable device given the amount I paid.
I rang Apple support today (twice) and it made a liar of me working just fine for few minutes the first time then again failed, then for hour or so after the second call seemed to work just fine. Now it is not charging, and won't charge despite repeatedly unplugging and repluging, Switching off the iPad and turning it back on etc etc.
Battery Charging Iming/harmful In Leaving Battery On Charge?
May 14, 2010
Anybody know if it matters or harms in anyway the iPad battery leaving it on charge? Maybe if your going to sleep or out for awhile and it only needs a short charge time, but it is hooked up much longer than it actually needs to be.

Charging The Battery/when Shoul Be Charge A New Battery?
Nov 3, 2010
I have just bought my brand new iPad and as I was leaving the PC World store the tech guy told me that I should charge the unit for TEN HOURS before even turning it on.
I know this used to be common practice with batteries in years gone by but in this age of non-memory Lithium Ion batteries is it really necessary to do that?Did you all charge yours up for that period of time before getting stuck into it?
Battery Status Was Low At 5% When Surfing The Net - No Battery Charging Sign, No "plip" When Connect Via Charger Or USB On Computer
Jul 4, 2012
I have a problem with my iPad 1: The battery status was low at 5% when I was surfing the net so I shut it down. Came to it the next day to charge it up and the Pad is not reacting at all. No battery charging sign, no "plip" when I connect it via the charger or USB on the computer. I have checked all the obvious stuff such as cleanliness of all the connectors, function of the the wall charger etc. I changed the USB/power cable and nothing has worked. I have also tried to reset it by simultaneously pressing the start and home buttons. The pad still isn't switching on. Before this fault the battery was excellent: held its charge really well.
I just downloaded the FIRST app to my brand new iPad 2 but the icon does not show on the screen. A check of the iTunes store shows the app was installed. I tried a reset (reboot?) per another discussion and that did not work.I also did a power off and restart with the same results.
When plugged into my iMac using the same USB as I use for my iPod to sync the iPad for the first time - the little icon says 'not charging', how come? Does it only charge plugged into 110v on the wall? Or, should I only use the USB cord that came with it to sync and then it will charge from the iMac? If the latter, will that USB be safe to use with my Touch too?

So I am using a jail broken iPad and the categories app to reduce the amount of pages of apps. I have 3 folders, one for cydia and the like, one for games, and one for all other apps. What's odd is that the Cydia folder has it's app icon, but the other two folders only have solid white icons. I have tried respringing, deleting and making new folders but it's the same thing over again.
