Battery Died And Now It Won't Charge Because It Keeps Turning On / Off
Jul 5, 2012
My 1st generation iPad's battery died so I plugged it in. When I did, the Apple logo came up and it went to the lock screen for probably about 2 seconds and then turned off to the loading spinning wheel thing. It turned all the way off and then went back to the logo screen and did it again. It's been doing this for about two hours now and I don't know what to do. When I plugged it into my Mac, iTunes would only recognize it the short time that it is on the lock screen so I can't reset it or do anything with it at all.
My Ipad 16GB wifi had been working flawlessly for the past 3 weeks.I Was reading a book till about midnight on the Amazon app, turned off the screen and sit the ipad on the nightstand.....still had over 50% battery.went to turn it on this morning and nothing....will not turn on.Plugging in to charger for an hour or the computer doesn't help.
Got my iPad 3g yesterday - everything worked fine. This afternoon, it locked up while launching Netflix. Don't know if the problem is related to this. I rebooted the iPad several times, but it never got beyond the Apple logo. I tried to restore from itunes -- nothing! Now it's displaying the logo and eventually the battery will go dead. Hacking :: IPad Died After Battery Ran Out / Can Put In DFU Mode But Won't Load Firmware
Mar 14, 2013
My iPad2 died after the battery ran out. Left on the charger for 8 hours, screen just stays black. iTunes doesnt recognize it, but when I put it in DFU mode, iTunes wants to restore it. But when I try its throwing that dreaded 3194 error.
Ive tried everything, tiny umbrella, editing host file, it just refuses.I hate iTunes...
I hook it up to my Mac or power cable the charging screen will not start nor will iTunes start. The battery was at about 50%. The iPad is DEAD!! Does anyone know what is wrong or how I can power it back on.
Battery Charging Iming/harmful In Leaving Battery On Charge?
May 14, 2010
Anybody know if it matters or harms in anyway the iPad battery leaving it on charge? Maybe if your going to sleep or out for awhile and it only needs a short charge time, but it is hooked up much longer than it actually needs to be.

Battery Charge Timing/how Long Should Charge At First?
Dec 3, 2010
I just got my ipad yesterday...how long do I need to charge the battery before I can use it. And I read that the battery should be completely run down once a month and recharged. I don't think I'll be using it enough to do that. What is the fastest way to run it down so that I can recharge.
Bluetooth Keyboard Keeps Turning On And Waking Up (draining Battery)
Jun 12, 2010
I realize this might be an odd issue, but my Apple wireless keyboard keeps turning itself on (and waking the iPad with any button presses, and draining iPad (and I'm sure the keyboards own) battery just with the connection it's maintaining). I keep both in a bag together and am guessing the power switch on the keyboard is being pressed at some point and turning it on. Is there any workaround besides just removing the batteries until needed? Some sort of "lock" switch to prevent it from turning on or a function where you need to hold the power button for a few seconds to turn it on? My guess is that walking around the button is getting touched briefly, and since any key-press will light up the iPad, I'll sometimes lose 10% of the battery life just walking around with it in my bag.
Charging The Battery/when Shoul Be Charge A New Battery?
Nov 3, 2010
I have just bought my brand new iPad and as I was leaving the PC World store the tech guy told me that I should charge the unit for TEN HOURS before even turning it on.
I know this used to be common practice with batteries in years gone by but in this age of non-memory Lithium Ion batteries is it really necessary to do that?Did you all charge yours up for that period of time before getting stuck into it?
Battery Recycle/when Should Charge The Battery To Get Better Performance?
Apr 27, 2010
For proper reporting of the batterys state of charge, be sure to go through at least one charge cycle per month (charging the battery to 100% and then completely running it down). How long to let the ipad sit without charging, then charge it up again? Hours?
IPad 3 :: Stuck In A Loop Charging / Turning On / Restore And Then Running Out Of Battery
Aug 21, 2014
The other day I decided to give my Ipad it's long awaited system update, alls good, it starts installing I go to bed, however during the night it must have run out of charge as it died. Now I am stuck in a loop of it charging, turning on, asking to be restored and then running out of battery again (or so it says).
I reckon the problem is the brightness is at max and the restore screen does not seem to turn off, so it sits there draining what little battery my ipad has accumulated in a never ending loop. My charger isn't apple branded but it runs at 5.1 volts (I believe that's just over 2 amps?) I think that is enough although I could be wrong? I was hoping you good people would be able to tell me. If it is meant to be enough, is there any way I can turn the ipad off during this loop at any point while still charging it?

Unable To Charge The Battery/cannot Charge More Than 8%?
Nov 27, 2010
This is a FYI of my personal problem.I have an Ipad, a morning decided to charge it with a "OEM" china 6 ft cable and wont reach the charge after 8%,
I went crazy.... start to troubleshoot and found out that thre china 6ft cable, maybe don't have the same pins, same cable specifications causing a weak current, I tried with a original cable short version and wala! is getting warm and charging as normal.
I have read all the apple pages on this (why they have to be in 3 documents is beyond me) and still can not determine WHEN it is best to charge? I have let my power run to 0 before recharging. This is how my camera batteries work best. So I am doing FULL charges, not PARTIAL charges. Also, when large battery pic says 100% charged, top right small battery pic says 98% instead of 100, twice now. Information:Ipad 3G & 13.3 MacPro
