View 9 RepliesI wanted to buy a HyperMac battery for my iPhone and (iPad) and wondered how big the iPad's battery is. At Apple.com the Tech Spec of the iPad says 25Wh, but since the specs of the HyperMac batterys are in mAH wonder how much those 25Wh are in mAH. And how much a 1800mAH battery would charge the iPad.
View 4 RepliesI just got the latest upgrade that I installed yesterday from Apple. When my power get's to 90% on a recharge. I am seeing the Power charging icon flash and a constant beeping sound for a few minutes. It's like the power charging is being unplugged then plugged in again. Even if i turn off the device, and plug it in, I get the same results. It lasts for about 5 minutes and then it quiets down again and it appears to be charging normally.
It's an apple charger and and apple cable. I plugged in the same power configuration and I do not have an issue with my ITouch so I do not believe it's power related. I believe it was the last Upgrade because I never experienced this issue with the device and power charging configuration prior. I am on Version 5.1.1 (9B206) and it's a Model: MC705LL

I have drained the iPad battery completely down. Now I am charging it for the first time. Is there a limit how long iPad can be connected to a power source or how long it takes to fully charge the iPad?

Does the new and latest ios 5 consumes more battery power than the older version of ios ? Will it effect it performance or enhance its performance?
View 10 RepliesI'm looking for an app similar to Eyewitness Guardian: that is, an app that runs while my iPod is in it's dock charging, either displaying high resolution photos, news, weather, or something of that nature.

I am having problems getting the new IPad to charge at all and sometime it displays this message.' charging not supported with this accessory'. This message is appearing occasionally on my 5 week old new iPad (3) within a few minutes of plugging it in.: (It is also not charging after this message appears. I am using the supplied wall socket and cable. I am also having problems getting the iPad to charge at all even if the message does not show. This is frustrating me no end. I expected a reliable device given the amount I paid.
I rang Apple support today (twice) and it made a liar of me working just fine for few minutes the first time then again failed, then for hour or so after the second call seemed to work just fine. Now it is not charging, and won't charge despite repeatedly unplugging and repluging, Switching off the iPad and turning it back on etc etc.

Anybody know if it matters or harms in anyway the iPad battery leaving it on charge? Maybe if your going to sleep or out for awhile and it only needs a short charge time, but it is hooked up much longer than it actually needs to be.

I guess it has not been out that long to have a practical assessment but what is the anticipated battery life of the iPad with normal average 2-3 hour everyday use (browsing, emails, games, etc.)?
What is the battery replacement procedure?

I make sure my push notification is off along with location and reduce the brightness very very low. I use the charger that came with iPad and plug into my wall outlet or my power bar overnight for 8-9hrs of charging. It stops at 50-55% all the time. It was fine when I bought it the first day it came out. It just started doing this last week.
View 2 RepliesI have just bought my brand new iPad and as I was leaving the PC World store the tech guy told me that I should charge the unit for TEN HOURS before even turning it on.
I know this used to be common practice with batteries in years gone by but in this age of non-memory Lithium Ion batteries is it really necessary to do that?Did you all charge yours up for that period of time before getting stuck into it?
Anyone tried to charge an iPad using the PowerMat device?
View 8 RepliesFirst....Last night i had the iPad plugged into the wall charger as I was using it since it was at about 15% charge and i would randomly use it, put it down, use it, etc...and i'd say it was plugged in for about 2.5 hours and then at about an hour after that it randomly wouldnt turn on.
I had held and pressed the power button but nothing i eventually got into DFU mode and it would restart after that but does that indicate any form of defect with the iPad itself?
Should i restore it to default and resync my apps/music/ etc?
Second....I noticed when powering on i have to hold the power button for a quite a bit longer than I previously thought I did as i usually have never turned it off for the most part only seldom.
What length of time does anyone usually hold their power button on theirs for to get them to boot up?

View 1 RepliesI tried to charge my battery yesterday with my 10W USB Power Adapter, but it seems that iPad isn't recognizing it as a power adatper. When I plug it, iPad shows me the message Not Charging, the same message that appears when I plug iPad to a USB port. I then connected it to a USB port and my computer doesn't recognize it anymore. I turned iPad off and plugged it to the power outlet again. The iPad turned on automatically and the message Not Charging appeared. I disconnected the iPad from the outlet and connected again. Nothing happened. As I needed to charge my iPad and it seems to be recognizing my 10W USB Adapter as a normal USB port, I just turned it off again, plugged it to the outlet and when the Not Charging message appeared, I put the iPad to sleep and let it charged this way. A left it over night and it charged from 20% to 89%. The big problem is that now I can't connect my iPad to my computer, which is a huge problem. What should I do? Any Clues?

Yesterday I took delivery of four 64GB iPads for work. Two are WiFi only and two are 3G models. Here's the strange thing. One of each type will only charge from the included power block and cable. The other two will charge on my MacBook Pro, from the included power block and from my new ZaggSpark backup battery unit. The two that won't charge except from the power block have gone to PC users but I don't see how that could be an issue unless the USB ports on their IBM desktops aren't providing a sufficient charge. That doesn't explain though why neither of the two units won't even charge from my Mac. Strange voodoo or busted out of the box?

I have a problem with my iPad 1: The battery status was low at 5% when I was surfing the net so I shut it down. Came to it the next day to charge it up and the Pad is not reacting at all. No battery charging sign, no "plip" when I connect it via the charger or USB on the computer. I have checked all the obvious stuff such as cleanliness of all the connectors, function of the the wall charger etc. I changed the USB/power cable and nothing has worked. I have also tried to reset it by simultaneously pressing the start and home buttons. The pad still isn't switching on. Before this fault the battery was excellent: held its charge really well.

Will most travel power converters work fine for charging the iPad out of the U.S.? We are going to Egypt in 5 weeks to visit my Wife's sister and Family. We will be flying from Minnesota to Amsterdam with 9 hour layover then on to Egypt and would like a travel power converter to keep the iPad charged. So we need something that will work in those Countries.
