But i would also like it if my iPad automatically capitalized the letter "i" when it is being used to refer to me... You know, like every word processor i have ever used does.
Has anyone else noticed an issue with the auto-cap not working quite right? Mine is inconsistent and starting to drive me nuts. Sometimes is works and other times it doesn't. Especially with the word "I".
I find that when I'm typing, it doesn't always auto-capitalize some things, like "iPad" (it leaves it as "ipad") or "I" (it just leaves the letter "i").
Has Apple acknowledged this bug, yet? It does it on two iPads I have.
Information: MacBook Pro 2.53Ghz unibody Mac OS X (10.5.5)
Auto-capitalization Wont Work With Apple Wireless Keyboard
Apr 22, 2010
My ipad settings have auto-cap on. When using the on-screen keyboard the auto-cap works. When I switch to the wireless apple keyboard auto capitalization fails to work.
Does anyone have the wireless apple keyboard working with auto cap on iPad?

I purchased the Apple iPad Keyboard Dock with my iPad. Auto-capitalization works fine with the on screen keyboard, but when I connect the keyboard dock, it does not work.
Is There Any Way To Stop Or Temporarily Suppress The Capitalization Of The First Letter When Typing
Sep 3, 2011
Is there any way to stop or temporarily suppress the capitalization of the first letter when typing? It is very annoying when trying to enter an email address into a form.

The Little Ridge On The Fitfolio Is Too Small To Be Stable?
Apr 23, 2012
I've read all the threads I can find on the Ridge and watched several videos and nothing seems to adequately address lap usage. I primarily use my iPad in my lap on the couch and I'm wondering if the Ridge holds it's position(s) well in that situation. I've seen the Speck Fitfolio (next best contender) in person and found it to be totally inadequate.
The little ridge on the Fitfolio is too small to be stable and the detents it fits in aren't deep enough to give it a lot of grab so it's constantly slipping. I really like the look of the Ridge, the fact that the bezel isn't covered, and the lightweight, slim design.
Picked up an ipad2 64gig wifi 3G a month ago and have been happy with it. Today I got the av adaptor to hook this to my samsung 52" HDTV but am having trouble with the connection to the tv. Tried 3different hdmi cables and 3 different hdmi inputs on the tv. The problem I am having is that the connection to the tv seems to be intermittent. I tried this using Netflix and various apps and games with the same issue occuring. I can start a movie and it seems ok but then at random times the tv screen goes black for a few seconds and comes back on. The video resumes playing but there is no audio. If you hit the 30sec rollback in netflix app it will start up again with the sound. With games you have to restart them.
Less Stable With 4.2.1 - Apps Crash A Lot More - Safari Has Crapped Out
Feb 1, 2011
The thing I've noticed about this iPad vs my other one is that my apps crash a lot more than they did under the old OS. I've deleted and reinstalled these apps to no avail. Even safari has crapped out. Just wondering if this has been an issue with the new OS.

Auto Capitalisation And Auto-correct No Longer Working
Nov 27, 2011
I am trying to use the Apple wireless keyboard with Pages on the iPad and I am wondering if anyone is able to provide some assistance with some issues i'm having?
When using the Apple wireless keyboard with Pages, auto capitalisation and auto-correct no longer work as it would if using the inbuilt onscreen virtual keyboard. This is not a major issue, more of an annoyance.
Does anyone know how I can change this? Either changing settings in Pages or maybe using a different word processor which does auto-correct and auto-capitalise using the bluetooth wireless keyboard?
I have had consistent Wi-Fi signal strength fluctuations from day one of the iPad release. After reading the Apple knowledge base article I turned off the auto-brightness setting on my iPad. This miraculously has taken care of my problem and the iPad connects at 10,000 kbps consistently, just as rock solid as my laptop speed tests.
The auto-brightness function of my ipad has no response in light and dark environment when I turn it "On" or "Off". Is it a software bug or hardware problem. Pls advise. My ipad OS is 3.2.OS 3.2
if ts has already been discussed, but my auto-correction is horrible... That being said, does 4.2 (or 4.2.1 for that matter) address this issue? If not, are there any work arounds or explanations as to why it doesn't work as well as my iPhone (both 3G on older OS and new iPhone 4 current OS)?
I use a lot of password protected sites. I guess that I am used to shutting down the browsers on my desktop. That clears the site and I need to use the password again to get in. On the iPad, unless you remember to go to the screen that shows all of the running programs and shut down the browser, the app keeps all of your visited open secure sites.... Open! Its convenient but if anyone can get to my ipad before it goes to sleep or if they can get past the initial log on code, they will have access to all of those pages. Is there any way around this to auto logoff the secure site or auto shutdown on the app?
my mom who I gifted a new iPad to has complained that the iPad locks while she is watching a netflix movie or while she is on a video call using Skype. Is this normal behavior? Any way to stop it besides setting auto-lock to never?
