View 9 RepliesI am looking to use the iPad to save on paper so that I can take documents into meetings, easily organise and manage them within the meeting, and if necessary annotate. Is there a way of doing this? Also, in order to speed things up in a busy meeting, I would like to be able to scribble a note on a page or circle an item using a pen of some description that will work with the iPad? Is this technically possible or even already available?

View 5 RepliesWhich app has Accurate Rendering of Microsoft Word Documents with correct Fonts on iPad?
I have tons of Word Documents (.doc and .docx) and PDFs shared from my Windows 7 folders via DropBox/ Google Drive.
I am open to and might look into SkyDrive/ Sugar Sync and/ or other Storage Clouds as well.
I've used the native Cloud Apps on iPad and also use GoodReader etc. to review them on my iPad many times.
I'd like to have it VIEWED/ RENDERED as accurately as possible with given fonts.
With PDFs mostly the fonts are embedded so they are shown accurately. With Word documents it doesn't seem like that's happening.
Now on Windows, we have tons of Fonts inside the System..Fonts.. TTFs, OTFs, Windows, Office etc
Is there some way to have more accurate rendering on my iPad?
- Some App that supports or has some extra support for fonts
- Automatic or Manual download of fonts?
- Hacking and adding fonts from Windows (copying them) to the iPad (Jailbroken)
- Bulk Embedding of fonts into the Word files before they sync to the Cloud space (DropBox/ Google Drive)
If the App also provides Annotating, Highlighting / Editing abilities.
Is there an App that will convert written text on an iPad with a stylus into a word document?
View 1 RepliesDoes anyone know if you can open Word docs created on a Windows machine in Pages for iPad if you receive them via email? I have tried this with Word docs created in Office 2003 and can't get it to work. The Pages documentation says it supports Word but I'm starting to wonder if somehow it only supports Word files created on a Mac? Or is it just that it doesn't support older versions of Word like Office 2003?

I'm not currently an iPad user and have long considered getting one. But one thing that has slowed me is Word processing. It looks like Documents to Go might be a good program. It appears you can create a Word document and store it locally. My question is can you then attach that document in an email? Can the person on the other end open it as a regular Word document? (These are probably dumb, basic questions. But It would be really awesome for me if it could happen. Cloud based storage isn't ideal for my situation.)
View 5 RepliesI just bought a new iPad, and i want to read and edit ms office documents from email and PC. Is there any app that can read and edit word, powerpoint, excel, etc in one package? I know there's iWork but i dont like pages, keynotes to be separate apps. Also is there any hope of new version of ms office that can run on iPad?

I have an iPad 64gig 3G. On my iDisk i uploaded my pages docs and my older word docs so that i can open them in the pages app on my iPad. With the pages docs i only get the option "open with goodreader" in the iDisk app. With the Word docs i get the option "open with pages or with goodreader". How is this possible?
