Anyone else have a problem with the iPad app store not saying there are any updates to apps? For instance, right now the ABC app is showing an update in iTunes, but the app store is showing all apps up to date. This has happened with a few other apps I have installed on the iPad as well.
Anyone else running into this? For example, I have iBook V1.0 installed. Apple released an update V1.1. The update shows up in the app store but not in "Updates" download area. I am hesitant to simply delete the app and install the newer version in fear of losing my downloaded content...any suggestions?

I know that I need to wait for the next jailbreak to come out before I upgrade my iPad again,do I need to wait for different jailbreaks to come out before upgrading iTunes?I would be upgrading to iTunes version 10, but really want to know if it's a general rule that I'm good to go to update iTunes whenever the updates come out, but to wait on the iPad updates until the new jailbreaks come out?
Do you think apple will keep the iPad and iPhone on the same os version once iPhone and iPad gets 4.2. Or do you think come the next iPhone, it will be staggered again and iPad won't get os 5.x till a while after the iPhone like this year.
I was reading some technical news sites and noticed a article about a new version of iBooks. I went to the app store and searched for iBooks but the results only show a April release date version. How do you know when a app ( free or paid ) has released a new version ?
I synced my apps from my iPhone to my iPad and obviously the format isn't correct for the iPad. Will the writer produce updates for the apps I previously have or will i have to downlad the same app which is iPad specific? I am thinking of deleting all my iphone apps off my iPad...what do you think?
When I go to the App Store on my iPad and tap Updates, it displays, "All Apps Are Up to Date" however, when I check for updates in iTunes on my PC it displays available updates. Is anyone else experiencing this?
I sync apps for my iPad and iPhone on my iMac iTunes app.
On the iMac, the "Apps" menu item in the Library bar on the left hand side of my iTunes has a number "3" next to it. I click there and at the bottom of the window, it says I have "3 Updates Available". So I click there. But then the next window tells me that I have "no updates currently available" and that "to check for updates to another account, sign in with that account".
I have no other accounts. So, the number "3" now sits next to the word "Apps" all the time in iTunes, even if there are no updates to download. Can't get rid of it. How do I get rid of it?
This seems to have started some time after my son visited. He used my iTunes to buy some music to burn to CD, so he signed in, bought the music, and then signed back out. I then signed back in. Could it have anything to do with computer authorizations? Not on this end: I only have one computer, my iMac, authorized. Any other ideas? I want to get rid of that phantom "3"!

Does anyone know if there's any way to prevent an app from applying an update that has already been downloaded? I just downloaded an update in itunes and then went to the developer's page to see what it included, and it's a major update with a caveat that certain things will get broken if it's applied. Those things happen to matter to me, so I'm not sure how to deal with this, other than not letting the ipad sync till a version with a fix is released. Anyone know any other way?

The App Store on my iPad 2 says that there are 23 apps to update. I click on "update all" and the screen moves to the screen with the first app on the list. Then nothing happens. There is no indication that information is being downloaded. No swirling icon in the upper left page. No blue bar moving across the base of the app icon. I have already tried turning it completely off and back on again. I have already tried connecting it to my MacBook Pro, clicking on "check for available downloads" in iTunes, then syncing (apps included). I have tried logging out and logging back into my iTunes account with my Apple ID. I have tried resetting my network settings and logging back into my home wifi network. I have tried enabling automatic downloads of app in the Store Settings.I have tried downloading app updates individually rather than via Update All. If I touch one of the app icons I get a message stating "Unable to Download Application [app name] could not be downloaded at this time" with "done" or "retry" buttons. I have tried retry and get the same message.
I am having trouble getting my updates on my apps. The email address no longer exists. I have set up a new appleid and password. However my old email address keeps showing up and I do not know the password.
I have had my iPad for almost a year but now it's acting up! Everytime I try to download or update an app, a message pops up to sign in but then says I have wrong pin for debit card.. I know it's right bc it's the same card I've been using all year! I've tried restarting, changing cards, clearing up memory, nothing works!
I mean, has Apple sold that many iOS devices that the load on their servers has come to this?
I've been trying since the release of 5.1 but have yet been able to update any of my devices. I'm waiting to update 2 iPads and 2 iPhones but they're all just hanging with an eventual time out message.
Tried from iTunes and from the devices software update but no go. It's pretty poor considering they should know the numbers.
I have 8 pending updates, and every time i update it asks for my dads apple id. I download ONE app using his apple id, and i deleted that app. I tried redownloading some apps, and it still doesnt work. I reset my apple id password and my dads id still shows up in updates.
When I was at home on WiFi, I updated about 6 apps, but must have left the house before they fully updated. Now I'm at uni (no Wifi) I plugged the iPad into iTunes, it downloaded the updates but doesn't seem to have installed. All the apps just show a grey box and say 'Waiting'. Syncing apps doesn't work.
Every time I have tried to download iTunes the file gets stuck after just a few MB and won't download any more after that.I finally just downloaded the iTunes update on another computer and then transferring it on a USB key.Now I keep getting time out errors when trying to download and install the latest iPad update. Why am I having so much trouble downloading these damn updates.
I have an iMac 24" running Snow Leopard. At present I sync my iPhone to my iTunes account on this machine. All works great no issues. In the next week or so I have two iPads coming into my household via my children! They have their own Apple IDs but no computer to sync them to - they will only have iPads. Can/How will I be able to sync their iPads for updates, iTunes etc etc? Will they effect my iMac or iPhone? Will they each have their own iTunes libraries?
i just bought a used ipad from someone and its running 3.2.2. is that the latest software update? i tried to sync and it said it wont sync some apps cause i dont have the latest software but on itues when i "check for updates" nothing happens.
All of my calendar entries have disappeared from my iPad. The updates are showing on my iPhone,iPod Touch,MacBook Pro and within MobileMe.but not on my iPad.I have tried deleting my MobileMe account from my iPad and readding it.but nothing.
unfortunately there is no general iOS subforum, so I post it here in the iPad forum in hope that someone has an idea.Whenever I am trying to update one of my iDevices from my Mac Pro (10.6.4 and iTunes 9 or 10, both have the same problem) the update runs half way through and then gets stuck on the apple logo, progress bar at about half way through. This is reproducable with any iDevice (tried iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and iPad). If I plug the same devices into my Macbook Pro, the update (or then: restore) works without any glitches. So it must be something with my Mac Pro, but I have no idea what might cause this.
And yes, I've read that I'm supposed to log into my account in iTunes and re-sync but that doesn't work Brand new iPad. Everything is working great except for this one thing. I've installed all my apps from iTunes. These include apps purchased/downloaded by both my husband and me. We share the same iTunes but each of us have our own account. I've successfully transferred my apps, plus purchased a few new ones to the iPad. I see I need to update several. When I request update all and I get the window to enter my password, I see my husband's iTunes account.I've tried the suggestion - logged into my iTunes account then re-sync the ipad but that doesn't work.
Not the same problem as others have reported however it is similar. I download the update and after the download is completed (456.9 MB of 456.9 MB downloaded) and about 10 seconds later I get a "Download not completed - error = 3259". The pop-up message goes on to say something about the server timed out and for me to check my connection (I did and it is not the problem) or for me to try later (which I have and keep getting same error).
At least my iPad still works unlike others. Tried reboot of pc and iPad and no luck
Any suggestions or is this just an Apple server problem?
When trying to buy apps in the AppStore on the iPad always appears the same error message "An unknown error has Occurred." and the download or the update is aborted. A logout from the AppStore and a hardware reset have nothing changed on the problem.
My iPad used to work fine and after couple days I start facing some issues. The issues you all know. I'm not here to ask for help because I know this has nothing to do with anything other than the iPad itself. I just called "Apple expert" and he keeps telling about this coming update. So, I'm only here to ask, what I should do with the "revolutionary iPad" till the update comes? Simple question, isn't? Turn it off and put it in the cabinet or what?
iTunes indicates there are new updates available (currently lists 5) but when I click on the bottom right icon, I am then told there are no apps to download. Why does it indicate there are apps to download ? and how do I fix ?
I can successfully download updates when they are available (i.e. greater than the current 5 listed).
I subscribed to MobileMe a few weeks after I got my iPad and created a new AppleID with my MobileMe email address. I now use that new ID when I purchase apps from the Apps Store.
For some reason though when I get app updates on my iPad, the App Store prompts me with my old AppleID. I first thought that it remembered that the apps were purchased with that ID but this morning I got an update for an app I purchased with my new ID and still, the App Store prompted me to enter my old ID password.
Is there any way to stop this? Perhaps removing the credit card from my old ID?
Btw, a little off-topic but is there any way to change my Account name (currently is xtheevildonutx). I checked in the FAQ and it says that I must create a new account. Do they mean a new AppleID?

Does anyone know how to get rid of the updates listed on the app store if you do not want them? For instance I have some on the list that are for increased stability on iPad 2 ( I have first version). Or upgrade for game center integration, which I have absolutely no interest in. I live in a rural area and we are limited on our usage (only 375MB per day). And therefore I do not want to download needless things, and yet I want the constant reminders on the icon to go away.
I have been trying to download about 20 updates from the App store, but. I keep getting the message that the Apps cannot be downloaded at this time. My Internet connection is fine, and I downloaded a book from iBooks with no problem. What do you think is going on.
