App Not Showing Updates

Anyone else have a problem with the iPad app store not saying there are any updates to apps? For instance, right now the ABC app is showing an update in iTunes, but the app store is showing all apps up to date. This has happened with a few other apps I have installed on the iPad as well.

New App Versions Not Showing Up As Updates And Not Updating
Anyone else running into this? For example, I have iBook V1.0 installed. Apple released an update V1.1. The update shows up in the app store but not in "Updates" download area. I am hesitant to simply delete the app and install the newer version in fear of losing my downloaded content...any suggestions?

Updates - ITunes Updates
I know that I need to wait for the next jailbreak to come out before I upgrade my iPad again,do I need to wait for different jailbreaks to come out before upgrading iTunes?I would be upgrading to iTunes version 10, but really want to know if it's a general rule that I'm good to go to update iTunes whenever the updates come out, but to wait on the iPad updates until the new jailbreaks come out?

Keeps Same IOS Updates After 4.2?
Do you think apple will keep the iPad and iPhone on the same os version once iPhone and iPad gets 4.2. Or do you think come the next iPhone, it will be staggered again and iPad won't get os 5.x till a while after the iPhone like this year.

3Updates Available But Then Says I Have No Updates Available
I sync apps for my iPad and iPhone on my iMac iTunes app.

On the iMac, the "Apps" menu item in the Library bar on the left hand side of my iTunes has a number "3" next to it. I click there and at the bottom of the window, it says I have "3 Updates Available". So I click there. But then the next window tells me that I have "no updates currently available" and that "to check for updates to another account, sign in with that account".

I have no other accounts. So, the number "3" now sits next to the word "Apps" all the time in iTunes, even if there are no updates to download. Can't get rid of it. How do I get rid of it?

This seems to have started some time after my son visited. He used my iTunes to buy some music to burn to CD, so he signed in, bought the music, and then signed back out. I then signed back in. Could it have anything to do with computer authorizations? Not on this end: I only have one computer, my iMac, authorized. Any other ideas? I want to get rid of that phantom "3"!

How To Prevent App Updates?
Does anyone know if there's any way to prevent an app from applying an update that has already been downloaded? I just downloaded an update in itunes and then went to the developer's page to see what it included, and it's a major update with a caveat that certain things will get broken if it's applied. Those things happen to matter to me, so I'm not sure how to deal with this, other than not letting the ipad sync till a version with a fix is released. Anyone know any other way?

Get App Updates To Download?
The App Store on my iPad 2 says that there are 23 apps to update. I click on "update all" and the screen moves to the screen with the first app on the list. Then nothing happens. There is no indication that information is being downloaded. No swirling icon in the upper left page. No blue bar moving across the base of the app icon.I have already tried turning it completely off and back on again. I have already tried connecting it to my MacBook Pro, clicking on "check for available downloads" in iTunes, then syncing (apps included).I have tried logging out and logging back into my iTunes account with my Apple ID.I have tried resetting my network settings and logging back into my home wifi network.I have tried enabling automatic downloads of app in the Store Settings.I have tried downloading app updates individually rather than via Update All.If I touch one of the app icons I get a message stating "Unable to Download Application [app name] could not be downloaded at this time" with "done" or "retry" buttons. I have tried retry and get the same message.

Can't Download IOS Updates
I mean, has Apple sold that many iOS devices that the load on their servers has come to this?

I've been trying since the release of 5.1 but have yet been able to update any of my devices. I'm waiting to update 2 iPads and 2 iPhones but they're all just hanging with an eventual time out message.

Tried from iTunes and from the devices software update but no go. It's pretty poor considering they should know the numbers.

Sync For Updates And ITunes?

In the next week or so I have two iPads coming into my household via my children! They have their own Apple IDs but no computer to sync them to - they will only have iPads. Can/How will I be able to sync their iPads for updates, iTunes etc etc? Will they effect my iMac or iPhone? Will they each have their own iTunes libraries?

IOS Updates Always Fail On One Mac - Succeed On Another
unfortunately there is no general iOS subforum, so I post it here in the iPad forum in hope that someone has an idea.Whenever I am trying to update one of my iDevices from my Mac Pro (10.6.4 and iTunes 9 or 10, both have the same problem) the update runs half way through and then gets stuck on the apple logo, progress bar at about half way through. This is reproducable with any iDevice (tried iPhone 4, iPhone 3G and iPad). If I plug the same devices into my Macbook Pro, the update (or then: restore) works without any glitches. So it must be something with my Mac Pro, but I have no idea what might cause this.

Can't Change Account For App Updates
And yes, I've read that I'm supposed to log into my account in iTunes and re-sync but that doesn't work Brand new iPad. Everything is working great except for this one thing. I've installed all my apps from iTunes. These include apps purchased/downloaded by both my husband and me. We share the same iTunes but each of us have our own account. I've successfully transferred my apps, plus purchased a few new ones to the iPad. I see I need to update several. When I request update all and I get the window to enter my password, I see my husband's iTunes account.I've tried the suggestion - logged into my iTunes account then re-sync the ipad but that doesn't work.

Wont Download The Updates
Not the same problem as others have reported however it is similar. I download the update and after the download is completed (456.9 MB of 456.9 MB downloaded) and about 10 seconds later I get a "Download not completed - error = 3259". The pop-up message goes on to say something about the server timed out and for me to check my connection (I did and it is not the problem) or for me to try later (which I have and keep getting same error).

At least my iPad still works unlike others. Tried reboot of pc and iPad and no luck

Any suggestions or is this just an Apple server problem?

I just called "Apple expert" and he keeps telling about this coming update. So, I'm only here to ask, what I should do with the "revolutionary iPad" till the update comes? Simple question, isn't? Turn it off and put it in the cabinet or what?

Application Updates Still Using Old AppleID?
I subscribed to MobileMe a few weeks after I got my iPad and created a new AppleID with my MobileMe email address. I now use that new ID when I purchase apps from the Apps Store.

For some reason though when I get app updates on my iPad, the App Store prompts me with my old AppleID. I first thought that it remembered that the apps were purchased with that ID but this morning I got an update for an app I purchased with my new ID and still, the App Store prompted me to enter my old ID password.

Is there any way to stop this? Perhaps removing the credit card from my old ID?

Btw, a little off-topic but is there any way to change my Account name (currently is xtheevildonutx). I checked in the FAQ and it says that I must create a new account. Do they mean a new AppleID?

How To Get Rid Of The Updates For Unwanted Apps
Does anyone know how to get rid of the updates listed on the app store if you do not want them? For instance I have some on the list that are for increased stability on iPad 2 ( I have first version). Or upgrade for game center integration, which I have absolutely no interest in. I live in a rural area and we are limited on our usage (only 375MB per day). And therefore I do not want to download needless things, and yet I want the constant reminders on the icon to go away.

AppStore Not Notifying For Updates
After updating from 4.2.2 to 4.3 something I noticed I was no longer getting notices about updates in the AppStore (little number on AppStore icon), unless I opened the AppStore and looked. I did a complete wipe and reload of the OS and still have the problem with 4.3.5 installed. I was using 4.2.2 jailbroken for a long time. It was working, but decided to update to current (at the time) 4.3.2. I didn't wipe and reload OS, just installed the update from iTunes and the jailbroke it again. Seemed to be working fine except I notice the problem with not receiving notices about App Store updates on the icon.

I assumed I probably messed up by not wiping the iPad before doing the update. So I wiped, and reinstalled a fresh copy of the OS. Loaded the latest 4.3.5 now. Didn't even jailbreak this, time. So it should be pretty much stock. But I'm still having problems with not getting updates. I have been using iTunes to backup and restore the iPad, so I might have transferred whatever the problem was when I restored the backup, maybe. So maybe I'll try wiping it again and not restore from a backup, just to see if I still have the problem.
