Accessories Keyboard : Wireless Vs Connected

Mar 12, 2010

You've got the iPad Dock keyboard and a normal iPad dock. I'm pretty sure I'm going to buy the normal iPad dock but I will also need a keyboard. The Apple site tells me you can also use bluetooth keyboards (which I don't have at home). Now I thought that it might be better to buy the bluetooth keyboard. Than I will just put the iPad on the normal iPad dock and I will use the bluetooth keyboard to type stuff. Now the bluetooth keyboard and the special iPad Dock Keyboard have the same price except there's one difference: the iPad Dock Keyboard isn't wireless but it's also a dock at the same time.Buy a wireless bluetooth keyboard or buy the connected iPad Dock Keyboard?

Now that I know when I'll be getting my 3G unit, it's time to start thinking accessories What are your favorites? What do consider a "must"?I'd like a case but I haven't heard the best things about Apple's. I've heard that its surface is a little rough. That true? Or how are the other cases? Incase's?How about a stand? Apple's is nice but you can only prop your pad on it in portrait mode -- weak!Anything else? Keyboard dock? Bluetooth keyboard? What do you recommend?

Conflict Between Wireless Keyboard And Keyboard Docking Station

Oct 18, 2010

It would appear that if you have your IPAD in a keyboard docking station and you have a wireless keyboard nearby, the keyboard in the docking station exhibts unstable behavior, specficially: o keys will repeat without the key being held down o cap lock light will not light. Disabling the wireless keyboard (removing the batteries for example) seems to resolve the issue.

Apple Wireless Keyboard Vs Logitech Bluetooth Keyboard?

Apr 24, 2012

Decided to go with one of these instead of the folding ones But can't decide between these two. The apple keyboard is solid and lighter but expensive The Logitech comes with its own case and optimized for the iPad but heavier

If you support the apple, what case that's good but cheap you recommend besides a zip lock bag?

Wireless Keyboard And Onscreen Keyboard To Work Together

May 4, 2010

Is there a way to tell the iPad to bring up the onscreen keyboard? The wireless keyboard connects and the onscreen keyboard disappears. I found that I can press the CD Eject button on the wireless keyboard to bring up the onscreen keyboard. What if the wireless keyboard isn't handy? Isn't there some way to bring up the onscreen keyboard from the iPad itself?

Comaprison Of Wireless Keyboard And Keyboard Dock

May 16, 2010

Like many others here, I learned the hard way that the Apple case is not compatible with the Apple keyboard dock. I can't seem to locate the replacement case that I want in time for my next international trip (EDI on 5/31) so was wondering what I would lose to turn in the keyboard dock for the regular wireless keyboard. My primary question is about specific iPad buttons and shortcuts that work with the keyboard dock but not the wireless keyboard.

Onscreen Keyboard When Wireless Keyboard Is Nearby?

Dec 9, 2010

There doesn't seem to be any way to get an on-screen keyboard when the iPad is still connected to a wireless keyboard that may be in the next room. All I see is that I could un-pair the keyboard, and I guess I could pull the batteries out of the keyboard, but there's no way to force the keyboard off otherwise.

Apple Wireless Keyboard - Pro Keyboard That Folds Up

Jun 24, 2010

I had a Freedom Pro keyboard that folds up, but I realized I really don't need a folding keyboard, so I shuffled over to Best Buy actually hoping to buy an iPhone 4 to resell on eBay for profit (no dice, they never got a single one in) and picked up an Apple wireless keyboard.1) The arrow keys don't work, which is a bummer but expected...UPDATE: they work in some programs but not others2) The eject key interestingly enough pops up the on screen keyboard on the iPad3) The volume buttons work4) The brightness buttons work5) The fast forward etc buttons work, at least for videos..I don't have music on my iPad so can't speak for that but I'm sure it works fine6) The F5 key does NOT refresh webpages, a bummer

Apple Wireless Keyboard - Languages Of Keyboard

Aug 5, 2010

I am thinking to buy an apple wireless keyboard for my iPad. The problem is that I have tried it (before buying) and though it was a Turkish layout, every time I tried to use the keyboard, the OS changed the keyboard language to English (even if I choose it as Russian). This might be due to the fact that Turkish is not out there as official keyboard languages yet (hoping that it will come out when the international iPads are out).Does anybody know (or can confirm) that apple wireless keyboard works with other keyboard languages than English? i.e., can anybody confirm that with Russian language selected for keyboard (from the preferences menu), apple wireless keyboard with Russian layout works correctly (does not switch to English layout)?
