I am living at a place with patchy network coverage.I hardly cannot use the ipad because of the "network lost" message popping up every second minute.How to disable this one?Affects my iPhone as well.Information : iPhone OS 3.1.3.
View 9 RepliesI use a Sprint Mi-Fi so I have 4G or 3G wifi internet available anywhere I go.However, my iPad always seems to lose the connection to the Sprint mifi unit, which is located not more than 12" from the iPad.Randomly, I get an error message on the iPad that says I lost the mi-fi connection.Is there a reason for this?The mifi shows a strong connection to the network.

I am moving away and finally decided to connect the ipad to my pc. I just updated my pc with xp service pack 3. When i connect the ipad to the pc, im lucky if iTunes recognizes it (maybe 1/5 times) and it tells me that it requires an update.I agree to the update but within a few minutes my internet connection is lost. This pc is on a wireless connection. The wireless is still active as my iPad still has internet as well as the other hard wired pc in the house.
Even if i do not open iTunes and initiate the "download and install updates" option, my Internet connection is lost on this pc. The computer no longer recognizes my wireless usb key, and the only solution is to restart the computer, nothing else seems to work.Obviously the iPad update has not occurred since the internet is lost within 2-3 minutes of starting the update!
I am at my wits end with this iPad. I just want to update it, and then transfer some music and video to it- doesn't seem like too much to ask. I have previously been using it only for a few small apps and an ereader.

View 3 RepliesI'm trying to sync photos from laptop to IPad, it goes through the first 3 stages ok then I get an error message "the IPad could not be synced because the connection to the IPad was lost". This is very annoying as my IPad is clearly connected (by cable) and is displaying as such on the laptop.

View 6 RepliesI went onto my home wi-fi network before work today and getting to my mail and internet was working fine. Got to work and went to my mail again and I get a message that the connection to server failed. So I went into my network setting and went to wi-fi and check the DHCP setting and so the ipad is giving it self a self assign address. So I go to another wi-fi in our building and try and connect. Again self assign address. I then go to a Airport base station in our office and it gets an address. Now for the strange part. My boss can take his ipad and get an address from both networks that I can't. Using the Airport base station I can get to the internet but I can't get my mail. I have Comcast and Yahoo and neither mail server will connect.

I've tried shut down and restart to no avail.I'm now thinking this has something to do with my ISP and mail provider and not the devices.

My wife and I have ipads which are configured for wifi identically. Hers is 3.2 and mine is 3.2.1.
We tried to use a hotspot which required authentication ( userid/password web page). Hers worked fine.
Mine connected to the access point, but immediately returned an error saying "hotspot login cannot open the page because the network connection was lost". Multiple attempts had the same results.
The only difference I'm aware of between these two ipads (relative to wifi) is the firmware version.
Please let me know if you understand the cause of this problem or need more details.

Has anyone else had issues with the Scrabble iPad linked with their iPhone/iTouch? Here are my issues:
1) I don't understand the difference between the "Party Play" and the Local Network play? I can connect with the Party Play, but not with the local network play.
2) About 5 minutes into a game, when it's a players turn, the tile app doesn't respond. It doesn't register that it's that iPhone's turn. The other player's iPhone also thinks that (correctly) that it's another player's turn. Thus the game is stuck. It then seems like the game ends because the only way to fix it is to reconnect and I usually end up losing the game.
3) The App description says that it saves games when the connection is lost, but it doesn't.
Great game if it actually worked properly. EA's support site is pretty much crap. Anyone with some hints on making this work?
I've been reading the book Eon by Alison Goodman for the past two days. I was just finishing chapter 14 when I lost WiFi connection. So I went somewhere else, got the connection back, but couldn't find my book! Whenever I touched "Eon" in my library, it brought me to a screen that said "Rate this book!" and "Other books by Alison Goodman..." I tried going to the table of contents and selecting chapter 15, but it kept bringing me to that same screen....WHAT???
