I've been pondering about the idea of whether or not to buy an ipad. Ive come to the conclusion that im gonna do it. 16gb will be sufficient enough memory for me. The big question is do i go for the wifi or wifi + 3g.Is having 3g really worth an extra ?100. any opinions and personal experience will be much appreciated. secondly where is the best cheapest place to buy from and are they currently readily available?
The current iPad is configured with only 256mb of memory. I'm confused why this is enough memory to browse the web, while in reading the Mac Mini forums anything less than 2gb memory for the Mini is considered a performance degradation. Could they be talking about heavier duty Mac OS X apps in needing 2gb rather than for web browsing?
I dont have what to delet I planed so much Apps Practucal Games Songs Videos that i take and photos Videos More There isnt room for tiny part of it If i backup to my pc and delet from ipad will it be deketed also automaticly from my pc or itunes ? Its not like with oc or laptop that i can move things to a disconkey and the will be safe
I wonder if the 64GB iPad is faster than the 16/32GB models because of the extra memory.
In deciding between the 16/32/64 models, I can't see the iPad being my iPod replacement, since it's dorky to walk around with a 10" screen listening to music. Rather, I need to iPad for email and web browsing, hence, I can't see the need for extra memory -- UNLESS the extra memory makes the iPad go faster when web browsing.
iPad has the potential to replace PCs in most homes because few people need a full PC to browse the web, e-mail, organize their music, video and photos. The current first generation iPad doesn't allow a user to get rid of their PC however. You must pair your iPad to a PC/Mac version of iTunes and you can only back up your data via a computer. What will it take to make iPad self-sufficient?An improvement in the Photos and Videos apps or iPad versions of iPhoto and iMovie would solve the first shortcoming. Cloud computing will solve the remaining ones. A mobileMe upload of all your photos, media and app files would allow you to keep all your data safe and also allow cloud streaming to an AppleTV.
I have an ipad2 with 64GB, 5,21 GB free of space. Every time I try to sync message appears:
iPad cant be syncronized because there is no sufficient space free to contain all the selected elements ( required 12,16 GB )
So I tried to remove cancel some apps from the ipad using itunes, well after I select what apps to cancel and I hit syncronize, the same message appears over and over and no apps are cancelled or removed from ipad.
How can I free space if itunes doesn't let me cancel apps in the iPad? I am also not installing any new apps that ocupy 12,16 GB !!! I dont know why keeps saying this message !!!
I've got an iPad Camera Connector Kit, which allows you to connect many peripherals via USB. I was hoping to use it with this product, the Shure X2u XLR-USB Signal Adapter (I can't post a link yet, but if you google "Shure X2u XLR-USB Signal Adapter" including the quotes around it the relevant product page at Shure.com is the first on the page of results). This would allow me to do location audio recording with the several high-quality microphones I already own, rather than have to buy a (possibly inferior) USB microphone. I bought an X2u cheaply (A$75), used. My iPad had not yet been delivered so I was unable to test it first, but the device is fully functional when used with a PC.
Unfortunately, the Camera Connector Kit can not supply sufficient power to the unit to power up the Shure X2u. I get a message to this effect when I try to use it with my iPad. Is there anyway to provide additional power from a battery to the Shure? I know that using a USB hub can do the job, but since I want to use this for location recording, away from a computer of power socket this won't help me. Elsewhere it was suggested to me that a USB splitter plug might work, with the Camera kit connected to one plug of the Y-splitter, a USB battery to the other, and the Shure to the third.
As an iPod Touch 4G user, I've never really noticed how much text benefited from the Retina Display, especially at smaller sizes, i look at a friend's iPod Touch 2G today. It was much more fuzzy, and I found myself having to increase the size of the text to make it easier to read. Here's are my questions to iPad users: Is this problem present on the iPad? Is it worth waiting for a resolution bump to buy as I do not immediately need one?
Short Version: Got "Low Memory" warning today! Is there an App to manage the memory usage? (to list what apps/items are using what amount of memory?)
Yes... Of COURSE I have installed many apps.Lots of News apps. (Reuters, NPR, NYT, BBC, Weather Channel, several others) Lots of the solitaire apps. Several simple games. None of the really high graphic ones. Sticky notes, Drawing programs. Lots of other apps. NO music yet. NO photos yet.
I haven't even started syncing any files from the desktop machine. So, is there anything to analyze where my heavy memory use is?
I also have a 9" Asus netbook and a desktop. The screen on the netbook is lacking though. A little too small and poor viewing angle. I like the ipad because the screen looks great to me, no wait time to boot and loong battery life. I plan to use the ipad for web surfing, netflix, slingbox and a few apps/games while on the couch and around the house. If I need to take it outside, I'll use Mywi on my iphone. So the question for you is: Do you regret going with only 16gb? Why?
I want to surprise my uncle with a 16gb Ipad so he can take it on vacation, June 3rd.I placed an order on store.apple.com. They estimate 7-10 days to begin shipment. I will upgrade to overnight shipping if need be.I have also been put on a waiting list at The Apple Store and Best Buy.Have I exhausted all my options? What are my chances of getting one before June 3rd? I'm located in Northern California.
which version should I get 32gb or 16gb...is the extra 100.00 worth the extra space if the ipad is basically just a expensive gadget to play around with. Plan on using it for refence videos while using laptop to run 3ds max and after effects and computer animation programs. Also use it to reference pictures when I am drawing portraits. I do plan on general surfing and playing cool apps while being a couch potato.
I bought a 16gb wi-fi iPad in September, and the gf dropped it yesterday on pavement. It was in my incase convertible stand/case, but the tiny bit that's exposed got all scratched up (right by the lock button). The frame is also bent. The device works perfectly including the buttons, and you can't really tell when it's in the case but it's driving me completely insane
I have pre-ordered a 16GB 3G version. I am now having a few reservations about the 16GB size. I want the Ipad, basically, for web surfing and gaming. We have netflix, so I will stream most of the things I would want to watch, but there will be some times when I would like to put some newer movies on it, like when going on vacation.I was toying with the idea of putting my work documents on it as well which would result in me getting Pages, Numbers, and Keynotes. My work documents are about 700 MB.
im really having trouble deciding if i should cancel my 16gb and go for the 32gb.A: I dont want to lose my place in the order que and then something happens and i dont get it on the 3rd even though it says it will still deliver.I currently have a 16gb iphone and have 7gb left on it with only 1 movie on it and some music. Im wondering if the new ebooks and ipad apps will take up even more space than normal apps. What do you guys think, should i just go with 32gb to be safe?
For those who have had a chance to use the ipad 3g for a while - just want to know if 16gb is enough. I will be using netflix for movies, podcasts will be downloaded to my iphone, i might use the ipad for photo galleries. What do you have on your ipad and is 16gb enough?
Expecting to purchase my IPAD on Friday. I want to download all of my SONY ebook books to the IPAD, there is not APP like Kindle and Barnes and Nobles. How can I do this? Will it work with say the "Kindle" app??
