I slid my ipad air screen to the right. I then had a blank white screen with only wifi symbol, time and percent of charge. Only thing that would work was getting SIRI activated. That went away after a while and screen went black. I tried to turn air on or off by pressing the power button to no avail. Want to add the unit was about 70 percent charged during all this.

If you notice the same problem (disappearing AirPort symbol whenever wi fi connection drops) post it here, and maybe visit the Apple store.
Also, I wonder if the folks who do not have problems activated or went to an Apple store first? I did not, then the problem went away after I did.
