I had to replace my router. After many difficulties finally got everything up and running. During the process had to reset my AOL password. Now I can receive emails through AOL but cannot send any. It states "user name or password for SMPT:-----@aol.com@smtp.aol.com is incorrect". I don't understand what this means. I have an IPhone which is working with AOL, also a laptop works fine. I have set up a Yahoo email account on IPad and it works fine but I would really like to be able to use my original AOL account.

View 1 RepliesMy new IPAd was synched thru Itunes. It has the same mail in & out server settings as my iphone which will receive & send mail. I use outlook on my computer where emails eventually get downloaded to. The outbound messages say the address is incorrect- but they are not, I am reply to inbound messages. I always have poor luck with AT&T tech support. Today- they refused me any help whatsoever. They did offer to help me if I bought a $249/yr tech support plan, a $149/ 6mths plan or a single issue help session for $99

View 1 RepliesI can receive emails using wi-fi but cannot send using my btinternet.com account.
I have inputed the correct host name (mail.btinternet.com)and server port (25)and I have authenticated my bt internet password but still it will not send.
using wifi I can send and receive email with no issues using my ntlworld servers, Using orange 3g I can receive email but not send.My iphone had the same issue years ago and to send when wifi was off I had to enter the o2 server. My outgoing server is definately set to the orange sever but the iPad won't send mail through orange. I compared the settings with my iPhone and they are identical apart from that being the o2 outgoing mail server. Also Found this website. My iPad didn't have the password or Username set ie they were blank. Should I be using this data.
